I still think this is more cover for Winks. Praet has failed to even make an effort, bloke hasn’t even had his hair cut this season yet….. so he will probably end up leaving either on loan or on the cheap. We do need someone who can cover a few areas if needed. It could be a blinding signing, at this level anyway.

I think the idea of this is for general cover across the midfield now N’didi has gone for a while. It’s an integral part of the season. He’s clearly a good player and has played at a high level for a long time, a level far above the championship. I don’t think integrating will be an issue, and Enzo will more than likely make him feel at ease. It will cover the winks position and potentially an attacking position too. Praet was probably the preferred option, but he’s as reliable as a pedal cycle with no wheels or pedals. For a couple of mill it’s low risk, and potentially could add a bit more quality in depth.

I love this time of year, within 48 hours it’s gone from “no chance, to player is thinking about it, to player says YES”……. love it.

Carvalho would benefit us massively. There’s no point trying to find a “replacement” for Wilf, the role he is playing is down to his abilities, it’s not normal practice to play a player with his skill set in that position. So trying to replicate this is impossible. This window is impossible to deal in at the best of times, our best bet is to look for a loan, a loan for a player who has the ability to play centrally. A loan would be more financially viable and it means we can shop in a better market in the summer. A player like Carvalho would be ideal, the player may need some convincing to drop down to the championship, but I’m sure we will end up with a loan, we need a bit of depth if anything.

I agree, he’s looked very accomplished in the two games we’ve played against them!

Funny looking Man City.

He’s a decent footballer, but he has limitations Defensively which seriously hinder his game. I prefer JJ in the defence, his pace is a godsend, particularly with the style we’re trying to play. Unfortunately for Doyle, Faes is better, Vesty is better in possession, and JJ is a better defender. So he’s down the pecking order for me.

Job done, don’t really give a **** how we did it, had to make loads of changes as this isn’t a priority this season.

Probably do, this league is crap. Just don’t rate them all that much. Not bad back ups, but I’d say they definitely weaken our defence.

I don’t think much to him at all, JJ is by far a better player. He’s fairly tidy on the ball, but defensively I think he’s got a lot of weaknesses, and he doesn’t have the pace to make up for those weaknesses. He would be better with better players around him, but I don’t think he’s a player to rely on.
