  1. Interesting to see how this defence shapes up, I don’t rate Doyle or Coady all that much, so could be there to be got at today with Nelson’s inexperience.
  2. Good opportunity to rotate, this team is possibly strong enough to beat Millwall, but it could go either way. Ideal scenario would be to go through, all I hope is if we don’t, it doesn’t upset our league form and we can just tick it off and move on.
  3. Enzo thinks you’re shit mate……
  4. He can play as a high 8, which Wilf has been doing.
  5. Kevin Danso as a left sided CB? He fits the player profile I’d say. And Kyriani Sabbe is another player who seems capable of playing the inverted fullback role.
  6. No, but to Brighton use an inverted full back? Or does the CB step up? I agree, if we can accommodate Vesty then we should be fine, like I said the defensive structure is going to need looking at, because to play in this style the balance has to be near perfect. We will need a new CB of sorts, and we need to look at the inversion, whether we want that player to step in from CB or either WB. I trust Enzo to get it right however.
  7. I assume you’re referring to iverson in the latter part of your post, if so I don’t entirely agree with this. Mads is a ball playing GK he doesn’t look to play risky passes so to speak, he’s looking to beat the press with a pass, which essentially is the job of any central deep player. Iverson is a good goalkeeper but he’s nowhere near the level of Mads, Mads will go on to play for a world class club, we won’t be able to hold onto him for long.
  8. Good luck to him, good goalkeeper by all accounts! I think he should do well!
  9. It does to some degree. I’d love to see Enzo just try him in the inverted fullback role, he’s got the physicality and the energy to do so, and I think he’s proven that he’s fairly capable on the ball.
  10. I think Enzo wants a to swap KDH to the right so he’s coming in on his left. I think he’s devastating when he comes in from the right of the midfield.
  11. I think this is clear bollocks.
  12. The defensive unit will need looking at. Faes I think is capable… but Doyle and Vesty not in this team. Unfortunately pace is vital when playing an inverted fullback, because you’re susceptible to being counter attacked. It’s going to be an interesting summer, because there’s a lot of work to do to get that defence up to premier league standard.
  13. Iván Fresneda interests me, he had a good start at Valladolid I think he’s the type of player we could use to try as the alternative RB. I think Spain or Portugal would be good place to look for players to do this job, largely because it’s drilled into them from a young age, so you’d like to think provided they’ve got the physical attributes to deal with the premier league…..
  14. I think Klopp is more savvy than that. I think the player won’t want to drop into the championship, but I think Klopp would probably advise him to consider us as an option, Maresca is well respected within the football world, and when it comes to loan players that stands for a lot.
  15. I agree with Vesty, he will need replacing. And as far as winks is concerned I don’t necessarily agree. What Winks will need however is someone who is adept at playing CM and RB, but has the physical attributes required to play on the premier league. For me you’ve highlighted the most important areas to recruit in next season. We HAVE to sign at least two new CB’s a central defender and a left sided defender, JJ I think may be good enough, because of his pace, but Doyle I don’t think is anywhere near ready, nor does will he have the physical attributes to avoid the counter attack issue you’ve highlighted. We need to be really smart in the next window, but for me the most important area of the pitch will be that inverted fullback role, we’ve got to ensure we get the right person to play that role, because the whole plan falls down if we don’t. Perhaps it’s N’didi again? If we can get him to own a new deal, maybe Maresca needs to look at him as the inverted fullback?
  16. He’s got his strengths, but I don’t think he suits the style of play we’re looking for. He is limited in his game, and I think his limitations would be exposed in this system. He’s good enough to work in a more traditional set up, no malice towards him, he’s a nice kid, but I think he would be best moving away to benefit his career.
  17. I could see him playing in a central position. I think that’s the area we want to look at. I imagine Diallo is number one target, Manhoef 2nd and Carvalho on loan 3rd. We need a versatile forward, which appears to be what we’re looking at. After Fatawu and Mavididi were actually struggling. Albrighton will do a job of sorts if needed, Akgun I think is a bit hit and miss, and McAteer seems injury prone. Could you imagine a forward line with Mavadidi, KDH, Fatawu and one from the three mentioned?
  18. Mads Hamza Coady Vesty Doyle Winks Albrighton Casadei KDH Mavadidi Cannon. I don’t think Enzo will make too many changes, the spine of the team will remain the same.
  19. Don’t fall into that trap. You say we’re miles off, but look at Fulham…… they did really well last season……. The team we have now is better than all three of those clubs you’ve mentioned. This team with have now would have stayed up last season comfortably. If this team was put in the premier league now it would probably survive. We need some more quality, but it’s untrue we’re miles away, in fact, the bulk of this team is still a premier league squad. We’ve recruited really well this season, it seems we may have got our act together in this regard, and we will still have more to spend than Burnley, Sheff and Luton. Im pretty sure we will be following our old model and be looking to bring in young hungry players that we can develop and then sell on. Brendan came along and pissed all over that, now we’ve got Enzo things seem to have returned to how they were when we were a success.
  20. Can he play centrally? Looks like he can from the highlights I’ve seen.
  21. Completely agree. Mavididi over the last month has been astonishing. I had some reservations about him, but he appears to have flicked a switch and found some demonic form. He’s so dangerous, he’s got an amazing ability to run with the ball as fast as he can without it.
  22. His cameos concerned me, but yesterday proved everything I thought wrong. He looked excellent. Strong, quick good touch and technique. Both his goals were different his second more impressive than his first. I like his confidence too, he’s been waiting for an opportunity and has taken it. Excited to see how his season pans out.
  23. Really?
  24. Know him well?
  25. Yea I think he is…. They won’t stand for much more of this.
