  1. I could point out that the majority of Americans didn't and don't want this. And about how out of whack things are around the world, including most European countries. Society is bottoming out all over. But unfortunately America's political system is what it is, it's the ones making homophobic taunts on Long Island who make the most noise, and that's the face America presents to the world. It's the worst I've ever seen it and I see obvious path to it getting better. But in terms of golf, the Ryder Cup ought to look at taking administration of the 2029 even out of the PGA's hands and giving it to a neutral body, or just running it themselves.
  2. What a disgrace this has been for the U.S. (my native country) in every respect. The performance obviously. The crowd behavior, obviously. But also the PGA of America for allowing both those things to happen. Bradley has been another catastrophic choice as captain, and they've done nothing to try and control the ugliness of the environment. It's reflective of the leadership in the country and where American society is, and is going. And that's a f***ing depressing proposition.
  3. Europe needs to load up in the foursomes, a format they usually dominate. Same pairings as yesterday, no fancy stuff. Get 2-.5-3 points in the morning and it puts enormous pressure on the US to dominate four-ball or go into Sunday almost doomed.
  4. Prepare for disappointment.
  5. Coventry had the best GD in the league and we pretty much dominated them for 90 minutes, so of course Cifuentes out. Would it have been nice to win? Sure. But he has the players he has. We at least generated most of the possession and shots on target, and if Mavididi (who most of the bed-wetters have been screaming for) had put his sitter away that's the match.
  6. Mav has been dire, it must be said.
  7. For all the guff they get here, Vesty and Faes are very progressive-thinking defenders. They're always trying to get things moving forward, where alas they often stall out.
  8. On balance a pretty solid performance I would say.. Coventry is a good side and we were clearly better, even with much cutting edge in the final third.
  9. James looks pretty tidy.
  10. He already has a massive offer from Saudi, which he'd take before going back to the Championship. Waiting to see if a Prem team will meet his demands, but if reports of asking 100K a week are accurate he's going to have to come down quite a bit for the PL teams that would want him to be able to afford him.
  11. This has kind of taken a worst case scenario turn, really. He seems to have burned bridges and coming back would be very difficult. But one by one potential suitors have fallen away. Leeds still, maybe, now that Chelsea hijacked Buonanotte (which is a terrible move for him, sadly). But Leeds isn't going to pay 35 million for BEK, and probably not even 30.
  12. Solomon is much, much better than Mavididi. He steps onto the pitch as our best player, should we get him.
  13. FTR, he did play as a 10 occasionally for Leeds - 2 or 3 times. Certainly not his preferred position but he can provide cover at least.
  14. Would be shocked if he couldn't get a PL loan/sale after last season but yeah - if that was actually possible, giddy-up. Was the best attacker in the Championship for stretches last season and would make a huge difference for us.
  15. Sign Brighton, become Brighton? Brighton fans seem pretty salty that they keep loaning him out, but if Leeds doesn't get an option to buy it may work out well for Brighton. He'll get a much better chance to shine at Leeds than he did at Leicester - they have talent up top but desperately lack creativity in the middle of the pitch. Despite our refusal to use Buonanotte as a 10 I think that's his best position, and Farke will give him some run there.
  16. I think Leeds would still be interested in him, as he suits what they need - a creative engine playing behind the striker. The question is whether Bilal would take a Leeds move over staying put and soldiering through a season in the Championship.
  17. A big concern is how they absolutely ripped us open on corners. Miraculous they didn't score off at least one of them.
  18. Bitch all you want, 3 points is 3 points. Pretty ugly but given what Cifuentes has to work with at the moment I'm not sure what he's supposed to do. I thought Vestergaard and Okoli were both pretty solid. Ironically Fatawu was generally dire other than his goal (and he took a well-deserved rebuke from Vesty for cheaply giving the ball away late), but that's why you have players who can change the game with one moment of brilliance. And right now he's the only one we have.
  19. That's the problem. The fee itself is fine but if we never reinvest in talent we're just weakening the team, deal after deal.
  20. I find it even stranger that they’re playing Ward ahead of Okonkwo.
  21. Would think he can still get a PL gig somewhere if he wants it.
  22. Anybody but Leeds (or Forest) and this place would be unanimously calling it a clear pen.Which it was. Leant into a shot headed on-target and blocked it with his arm. In any event Everton have no grounds for complaint, against a newly-promoted side they were negative and posed almost no threat whatsoever. Debatable whether Leeds have enough quality in attack to survive (though they're about to add a dangerous forward in Okafor) but box-to-box they look good enough to have a chance. Sunderland as well.
  23. Curse you for beating me to it.
