Won't be excited if we get one of those managers whose been lingering round the prem for years doing sort-of ok with various clubs, which for me definitely rules out Moyes, Mourinho, and probably Potter too (appreciate he's a solid fit on paper, but I'm not enthused by him).

I thought Gladiator II was the epitome of a mixed bag, but this is spot on. On a big screen with good sound, the battles and the recreation of ancient Rome are impressive, but after about 30 mins it gets pretty lost in callbacks to the first film and messy political plotting. In fairness though, even in his best films, Ridley Scott has never been very good at telling an actual story. His strengths are atmosphere and visuals.

I was having the same from the main menu, but it worked by going to 401, pressing the red button, and doing match choice if that helps.

Next England Manager?
MonkeyTennis? replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in General Football and Sport
Tuchel: A capable, pushy and inventive manager, and also a difficult, tetchy, reportedly disagreeable guy. He's like the anti-Southgate! -
I suppose I think there's a chance he might find his groove, I guess? In terms of how this plays out, I think we'll most likely go down this season, but that is as much to do with the team we have (significantly worse than the team we had in 22/23) and the financial mismanagement which means we are still at risk of a points deduction. A really accomplished manager might make a difference, but really, they ain't queueing up to come here.

I don't think he's got the answers and is probably the wrong fit for us, but the reason I don't think he should go yet is because clubs who start on the chaotic merry-go-round of a new manager every few months always go down. Also, they always eventually employ Frank Lampard.

Is it me, or does the city centre smell pretty rank at the moment?

Not sure - I think the PL PSR rules look at spending over three years, and the appeal outcome suggests that because we weren't in the PL last year (esp during one crucial month last summer), they can't take that year into account at any point. So that would make it hard for us to breach at any point if 2023/24 is in the mix. Could be wrong though!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking after seeing @jammie82uk's response (very helpful, thank you). So far I have never been able to get the resale platform to work, but if it looks like I'm going to be missing lots of games then its obviously worth trying again.

Here's a question, if I have renewed and paid for my season ticket, but my circumstances mean that I am no longer able to use it mid-way through the season, can I cancel it and get a refund for the remaining games? And will I still retain my points as a member?

Banners look good. Seats are fine. But please God can someone repaint the row lettering in the north stand so people can actually find their seats? Currently I spend the first ten minutes of every game saying variations of 'This is N! You are in S. It's over there. N. No NN is at the back. N!' I sat in the west stand last night (good view but as ever, quiet as the grave) and at least you could find your seat, so not sure if it's just where I am.
-
It annoys me mostly because the position of my seats means it becomes impossible to see the goal, and about half the pitch, from 80 mins onwards.

Villa ticket appeared in my Google wallet this morning. Didn't have to do anything.

We need Brighton to have a really good season so they don't see the need to ask for this lad back. Looked class last night. -
Apparently Edward's involvement was only discovered following an investigation into the person who sent him the messages. That the case has been brought and he has plead guilty probably means that the content of the chat, and wider activities of this group(?) of people sharing images is probably more incriminating than the statement from his lawyer suggests.

'Meanwhile, in North Korea...' (CUTS TO SYNCHRONIZED TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT) '...a new idea was taking hold, that would change silicon valley forever.' (CUTS TO MAN MESSING AROUND WITH AN OLD FASHIONED COMPUTER) Curtis documentaries are always a good watch (maybe not the recent one about communism), but he does tend to smash ideas together in a way that, while thought provoking, sometimes suggests connections between things that are a bit of a stretch.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
MonkeyTennis? replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
16 points is just a rumour, and we have no clue if the club are expecting that in one go or two, but for me the only way it makes sense if its two - and while we currently have one breach to deal with, its fairly welll known that we were on track to breach again. While the rules are unfair on smaller clubs (especially smaller clubs who overperform), we are facing deductions because the club has been mismanaging transfers and investments in a very complacent, 'it'll probably be fine,' manner. I don't think that's changed. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
MonkeyTennis? replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'd always thought it was possible that it could be 16, but I assumed that would be for two breaches, both the highest in the league, and also because we haven't co-operated so there's no mitigation. Eight per breach because that's one below the penalty for going into administration. If that does happen, then all we are doing this season is waiting to go down again, when we will then also be forced to take more punishment in the Championship! Fun times. -

This is like watching an intervention.

I don't think she gets that we might actually want to hear the answers. It's maddening.

She's genuinely unbelievable. Asks a question, immediately interrupts, then immediately responds to any answer with a kind of mocking disbelief. I thought the leaders debate was bad, but this is another level.
