In this system I wouldn't mind giving him a year's extension in January to play backup e.g. in the cup and if injuries to others occur. I expect Souttar to move on, so that only really leaves Faes and Coady as out-and-out CB options. Agree that we should be looking for someone more mobile to replace him though. Depends if he'd want to do that after being frozen out once before. His performances this season are surely putting him in the shop window for some sides, so I imagine behind the scenes we're weighing up whether an extension would make sense purely so we can get a fee. There are probably teams in other European leagues that can see his skillset would work in a slower paced league, or he might even acknowledge that this is his level and be willing to go to another relegated side like a Sheff United or a Burnley.

So what you're saying is - being a Leeds fan is a mental illness? Explains a lot to be fair.

That second goal is exactly the sort of spawny luck that kept Forest up last year, annoying they're still getting it. That said, Villa have been awful

Imagine scoring four times in the last 20 minutes of a match and still being that far off winning.

I've seen my fair share of Ice Hockey games, both here and in Canada, and I've never seen anything like it. It's just absolutely awful. I've had the displeasure of seeing the incident back more times than I'd ever want to on Elon Musk's cesspit of a website - practically unavoidable with how the algorithm forces things on you nowadays and doesn't even bother to try applying graphic content filtering before showing you. Searched for the NHL before? Here's a man getting his throat cut. A truly horrible thing to have pushed into your feed and a really damning indictment of how badly that website has been allowed to degenerate over the past year or so. All I'll say is - in all my years watching, I've never seen a player's skate end up that high off the surface unless they were being up-ended by another player, which Petgrave certainly wasn't. There's an argument to be made that the other player (Nieminan?) was checking him to put him out of sight and throw him off balance, but I'm not so sure. He had his eyes on Johnson the whole time, didn't even challenge for the puck. It's not unknown for legs to end up high, but he was leading with his, which I've never seen happen in my life without the player meaning to. I don't believe for one second there was any intent to actually do him any serious damage, but to call it reckless is an understatement, not least with the Malarchuk incident such common knowledge to those who love the sport. Rough-housing is very much a part of Ice Hockey, and perhaps the aim was to knock Johnson off his feet and start a scrap, but the moment he lifts his leg he was playing with fire. The result was a tragedy and, unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if there are criminal proceedings brought against Petgrave regardless of the true intentions. It's a dangerous sport as it is - but I'm not sure the law is going to look on it favourably if there was even a hint of intent to kick him, which it's hard to see it as anything but from the footage. Makes me think of the worryingly common occurence of blokes throwing one punch outside a pub, killing the other person and going to jail for manslaughter.

Do it! I only wish I could get back there, but alas a trip back to Canada is a long way away for me at the moment. Perhaps for the 2026 World Cup! This is a great angle - and that chant has to claim the assist.

Pearson will be going one of two places: - Brum after they sack Rooney - Sheffield Wednesday for their Great Escape.

Forge FC won their fourth title against Cavalry FC in the Canadian Premier League final yesterday. Tristan Borges with this banger to win it in extra time. My man meant that. 🔥 https://streamin.me/v/71080d07

Wtf i hate Bristol City now

I saw Ryan McGivern and Ade Akinbiyi play for us, and I'd put Soumare in the same bracket. Actively made us worse.

As a club it really feels like we're in a healing process. Rodgers is the abusive ex. I'm still not over it, but each passing game and week it gets a little easier to enjoy myself again.

From what little I've seen of QPR this year, they've actually been unlucky in a lot of games. Another one of those scrappy, tenacious Rotherham-type clubs that actually have a bit of quality buried somewhere but aren't showing it often enough. Not sure if that's down to Ainsworth's dad-rock style of management or them being absolutely skint and barely able to string a squad together. Regardless, I feel like today's going to be a tougher game than either us or them realise. Their fans have completely given up and are expecting to be relegated in October, so any hint of a performance against the runaway leaders will get their tails up. It would be bloody typical for us to take the form book and shove it up our own arse.

Sorry, but one of the worst players I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt and a huge reason we went down. It's one thing to have been a player like Vesty who, while undoubtedly dogshit for us, barely played during our worst period for 15 years. Soumare was a regular, and he actively made our midfield way worse whenever he played, bar one good game against Wolves. Perhaps Enzo would have gotten more out of him. But no, we're not missing him, and frankly I'm glad to be rid of a number of players who coasted through last season and didn't believe it was possible that we'd be relegated until we had that big fat R by our name in May. Himself, Tielemans, Amartey, Tete, even Barnes lacked any of the gonads needed in a pressure situation and are not really missed. We needed to overhaul the squad mentality first and foremost, and he was part of the problem with his languid style and poor control. If he goes on to go elsewhere for a fee that's just a bonus. As it stands, our midfield looks undeniably improved with Winks coming in and Wilf rediscovering form in his new role. I've moved on but am not going to suddenly be revisionist about one of Rodgers' biggest failures. The only silver lining in this saga is knowing that we somehow got our money back on Musa after he showed up in the World Cup, and the same could be the case for Soumare. Maybe a purple patch could lead to a club or two biting in January or next summer. I certainly do NOT want to see him line up for us again if we get promoted.
