Pearson on both occasions built a squad yes - especially in his second stint when he threw the book at certain faces from the Sven Era (Mills, Danns, Beckford all didn't last long). Rodgers though? Most of his key players (Maddison, Tielemans, Ricardo in particular) were brought in under Puel, and he still had key members of the title-winning squad too (Vardy, Big Wes, Schmeichel, Fuchs were all around until the FA Cup win). He had early success in his first two seasons, then the moment his chosen personnel became regulars the rot set in. Fofana's about the only one I can give him credit for, and that's more for the mad money we sold him to Chelsea for rather than because he was really that great or improved us that much. Said the other day on here that given how turgid things are, we honestly wouldn't have been any worse off to just suck it up and have given Ruud the Summer window and see where we were at Christmas.

Came to the realisation at Cov away that I'm pretty done with away days, for this season at least. Was supposed to be going tonight as it's close by me up here in Scouseland, but a night shift means I dodged the bullet. We really do have some vile people travel to "back the lads", if you can call it that. Apparently, slapping "stop the boats" stickers everywhere, calling people paedos and - as it turns out tonight - being openly racist is what support means. It's a pretty horrible environment, not worth the effort and money at this point. Derby was fun, but that's the only one I can pinpoint in the past three years that I've actually enjoyed.

Him failing to slide Abdul through for an easy finish and going for glory in the first half summed the greedy bastard up.
