Important one for anyone who was planning to get the train in - engineering works at Syston this weekend so rail replacement buses for anyone in Barrow, Sileby & Syston. Imagine it's going to be chocka so probably wise to make other plans since the bastard council still haven't restored a proper bus service to the city. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg2rxdr88zo

A more proactive council would be needling KP to get on with it to be honest. It's a very important project for the city's regeneration and would generate so much in the way of jobs and income from visitors. Then again, they're too busy trying to pretend the Market never existed until people forget about that. And there's all that time and energy they've wasted trying to get us a (tiny) boxpark ten years after every other city in the country has already had theirs. Must be exhausting for them.

Coady was getting the benefit of the doubt from Wrexham fans for the first few games because Ward was so shit that he acted as a lightning rod for fan criticism. Now they've realised they're still shit with him on the sidelines, reality is setting in.

Vestergaard makes sense in that equation as he's easily the best ball-playing CB we have and the only one with enough vision to bypass our garbage midfield with his balls out to the wide men. Issue is, between his non-existent pace and the collective brainfarts we get from Faes and Okoli, it doesn't really make it a worthwhile tradeoff. Our defence is still being split apart by the likes of Preston and Oxford. One thing is for certain - Nelson needs trying. I'd like to see him partner Jannik at this point, see how they get on as a pairing.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
OntarioFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
We've only played one game so far, one in which the tactical plan no doubt changed because of Ramsey being a hot-headed idiot. Daka made sense as we needed to set up deeper and, as crap as he is, he's a better offensive option on the break. Carranza will play some role against C*ventry. Relax. -
Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

Ain't that the truth. At one point in the 22-23 relegation season I was trying to convince myself that Kristiansen was exactly what we needed, because he pumped his fists a bit in the cup against Walsall. -

Despite our porous defence, on current showing I can't see us struggling too much unless something really silly happens. The table's shaping up more or less as you'd expect even at this early stage, aside from a few outliers (relegated sides struggling, Sheff Utd's woes and Stoke / Boro's good start). I still reckon we've got enough daft Preston / Oxford performances in us to fumble the automatics this year, but I'd be surprised if we don't make the playoffs now. It's more how teams around us do, and while it's a long old season and someone's bound to go on a bit of a lucky run, I can't see anyone running away with it. Everyone is very much-of-a-muchness.

I generally think downtown Leicester is the pits nowadays as a place to spend time, but I had the displeasure of ending up in Coventry city centre earlier this year and it made me realise - it could be so, so much worse. Imagine the Cantina from Star Wars, but with a lot more concrete and everyone is wearing roadmen puffa-jackets. Of the places I've travelled for football, only Walsall rivals it for sheer sketchiness and grey misery. Not sure what the relevance is to the football, but just wanted to get it off my chest. I'm actually grateful that their toilet bowl of a ground is right on the edge of the city, because god forbid you actually have to spend time in that shithole before and after the match.

This is the most famous person to come out of Coventry in the past 20 years. We must not lose.

Had a bit of a crap one today, no shying away from it. Not blaming him for either goal though, as I said in the match thread he's not to blame for two Oxford players breaking the backline with zero effort. Yes he could probably have tipped it behind for a corner but it was an awkward shot to deal with and frankly Okoli is taking the piss by watching Phillips let fly, which lets their number six get the run on him to square it. Sunday League ballwatching, watch it back. And the second one is just a wicked deflection off the human goldfish that is Soumare, he'd need to be 1970 Gordon Banks to readjust himself in time for it. Iffy distribution was what bothered me most today - he was like Kasper at his worst with the amount he pinged out to nobody in particular on the touchline resulting in a lost challenge or a free throw-in for Oxford. And he did not look the most confident playing out from the back either, but that's a wider issue with the backline. He's still an excellent shot stopper, calls to drop him are premature, though I trust Marti to make the right call if he continues to fail to reach the levels we know he can.

from Ayew and Daka

Ward is haunting them from the rehab room, which is fitting because he might as well be a ghost the way shots go straight through him

...and then randomly popped up with the winner when we played Watford in the cup (or was it the league?) and acted like it was some massive redemption arc, was giving it the biggun like we even remembered who he was! The fella did absolutely nothing in his 70 minutes in an LCFC shirt besides injure himself, only ended up playing six games for them too. What a melt.

Sunderland are more than a quarter of the way to our points tally last season. After four games. -
Used to wince at the Scousers calling us 'f***ing Tories', but nah, if anything they were being kind to us. Shameful contingent in this fanbase nowadays, go hang flags from lamp posts and leave the footy alone.
-
I'm actually coming down for this one, winnit pls
-
Yeah but Ward doesn't get injured in that timeline split and lets three daisy cutters in each game, so it's a moot point

Skipp looked a smidgen better once Brainfartkare Snoozemare got hooked at half time. Not really saying much though, he was still average at best. But I can appreciate he was putting a bit of a shift in, as did a lot of the lads today despite a lack of quality all over the pitch. Ricky P and Winks changed the game again - we looked like the team with the man advantage for much of the second half. Can see the logic in trying Daka with the change of shape, but I hope to god we don't start to see a BDCR redemption arc, he's the answer to a question nobody asked. Shoutout to Jordan James though, he's going to be quality for us.
-
Can already tell Jordan James is a classy player, been quality so far

How refreshing is it to have a manager that can see where we're weakest and change things, by the way Massive question marks over why certain wastes of space are starting games in the first place, but we haven't had a manager with this sort of football intelligence since Pearson.

That was bloody brilliant boys
