  1. Getting relegated to L2, although very unlikely, would be pretty cool as the L2 title is the only one missing domestically for most fans "In my lifetime" bragging rights. Imagine being able to say you've won L2, L1, Championship,. Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Charity Shield in your lifetime and you're only in your mid twenties! Really regret not pushing for the Europa and Conference Leagues as they were very achievable at the time. Only 3 rounds away from winning the Champions League too. Ridiculous club.
  2. Does anyone else read this topic title as he's sold the club each time 😂
  3. Rewind 21 years to the day. Micky Adams had recently been sacked after a tricky start to the Championship campaign following relegation. We currently have Dave Bassett in as caretaker. Next week we are about to appoint Craig Levien as new manager who guides us to finish 15th. Our top goal scorer is David Connolly with 13 goals that season. Foxestalk has recently been born and some of the early topics sound very familiar to todays! Poster Guest Bryan with one of the first topics in the summer of 2004 (didn't @Marklose some topics after accidentally deleting them??) is after loans and frees: "Who can we buy for free? Since we haven't got any money who are we gonna buy players? Since when did all the press think we have got money to spend? But on the other hand we could loan about 3 players. They would have to be players who are experienced, not too old (under 30yrs old) and not getting a game at their clubs. We need Partridge, Connolly and how about bringing back Charlie Miller. We could sneek in with a last minute bid to bring him back." @glen31 is worried about the campaign: "anyone else here think we may struggle next season" @Sparkyreplies feeling very confident after relegation: "no way will we finish outside top 6 . dublin is still a good div 1 striker and if we got connolly that partnership would be devastating.. keep the faith micky knows what he is doing . the 1st couple of friendlys are all about fitness so i wouldnt worry which front 2 he picks" @Mark isn't sure and is worried about losing Izzet "How can you say that? Its a well known fact we're an extremely poor side without Izzet, no one could replace him, especially with no money Playoffs if we're lucky" @Craig has noted the club perhaps not putting the fans first! " apparently, according to Fidler, the club have placed a block of seats to the right of L1, meaning those fans who think they're going to be sitting next to the away fans will infact be sitting next to some people who bought a single match ticket" @Scow isn't surprised "The club don't surprise me anymore - One disaster after another - I've learned to accept it, although I shouldn't really." Going to the first page of topics makes you realise we've now completed that circle. Imagine what those posters were in for 11 years later at 180 degrees! What worries me about today is not one poster back then mentioned attitude or desire. We were just crap. It's a great read those topics from the early days if you have time.
  4. Possibly one of the worst performances I can remember. If he's not dropped out of the squad completely then Marti is just more of a joke than you could imagine. I mean you could play Faes there or anyone really!
  5. He should be sacked at 17:00
  6. @Phil MitchellBilly Mitchell on for Millwall!
  7. He had a purple patch where he got forward and looked half decent under Rodgers I think it was. Now he looks devoid of any attacking confidence, is an abomination at set pieces, is okay at recieving the ball with little pressure but a slight press he looks like it's a hot potato. I've seen many teams, especially Cov target him.
  8. Yep. I'd even argue we looked better at times under RVN than this we're being served up. RVN had the balls to use Evans and Monga in the highest division too.
  9. Problem is you've got Thomas who's been the pits so far starting again with no one on the bench to replace him. He's the luckiest guy alive. He should be 3rd or 4th choice in any decent squad.
  10. I'd be honestly dropping him tomorrow. Anyone with eyes could see he's been a massive liability at times. Yeah I know he's scored some worldies and is probably (when coached correctly) our most talented player - but he literally produces more dangerous chances faced than caused by his reckless gung-ho approach especially in the last game V Hull . Add to this his ridiculous social media posts this week tells me he feels like some sort of God like figure at the club that is untouchable. I'm sorry it comes across that way and he needs to be checked IMO. He needs to be brought back down to Earth and we need to utilise his strengths in a way that doesn't look scattergun and random. Drop himnfor now. Teach him. Get some discipline first in the squad Marti
  11. Fatawu tonight was like a self destruct button. Can't think I can remember such a tactically poor show from manager and player. We seemed to be facing a goal conceded or dangerous chance faced almost every time he was dispossessed and there was absolutely no game plan or general idea of how to play. Not the first time it's happened either. We looked so poor and disjointed throughout. What the hell is Marti trying to achieve? I've also noticed tonight a lot of the attacking players playing with their back to goal laying it off quickly back to the midfielders and defenders but so much so it looked like an instruction. Absolutely all over the place literally. A horror show on the eyes. Almost Paulo Sousa levels of ineptness at times...
  12. The warning signs were there very early on in his tenure and my topics to call for his head many weeks ago were deleted within seconds. I suppose now the moderators will allow this topic to stand when it suits their agenda. I've always said that a forum should allow stuff to stand because it will either cause debate or sink very quickly if not worthy.
  13. That ball from Soumare was Dennis Pratt esque!
  14. All 3 teams relegated last season all losing against average championship tonight.
  15. Dip your balls in sulfuric acid instead.
  16. Fatawu looks a liability at the moment
  17. What the f**k is that Marti?
  18. Where's the press conference for the Hull game?
  19. Is this fact or opinion?
  20. But he is sticking with Vesty and Faes despite there being an error on almost a weekly basis.
  21. I think Abdul on the other wing was worse. The way we set up means that if you find yourself as a winger you're going to have a really safe game or pull of some absolute worldy skill to influence the game. Fatawu, like always tried to make things happen and none of it came off last night. Monga a little more reserved but he seems to have a good head to know when to go for it and when to play safe - Abdul doesn't have this at all! Marti needs to get someone like Aluko in to support Monga and perhaps get Ricardo more focused on supporting Fatawu on the wing. This means having very disciplined CBs (which we don't have) and having a defensively minded DM ( the thought of Skipp, Choudhury or Soumare make my skin crawl) but one is needed to play to allow the fullbacks to support the wingers.
  22. Quite rightly Marti made a massive song and dance about the Wrexham second half basically calling the players out, calling them arrogant. Good on you Marti.... We've been waiting for someone to call them out and give them some home truths... Wait.... The absolute exact same thing, almost weirdly identical happens again against Portsmouth weeks later! Maybe you're arrogant too Marti to think these clowns are going listen to you? Action now please Marti - get that defence binned for a start.
  23. I know this won't happen but we need to drop these two clowns and have Okoli and Nelson in from now on. Nelson can offer the ball playing that Vesty does but also has pace. Okoli, although not the greatest naturally gifted footballer, has strength and good attitude. They'd complement each other well. Thomas needs to be binned as well.
  24. We couldn't have picked a worse striker. He looks absolutely useless. How on earth can you have literally years to know that Vardy will need to be replaced and come up with with this s**t? So many exciting names were linked that left and went to lesser clubs too!
