  1. Albrighton when he was commentating one of our pre season matches.
  2. It's been mentioned that windiness around the training pitches at Seagrave means it's hard to train set pieces. Would explain a lot considering our awful run around the time we moved in.
  3. If we sell Mcateer maybe we can offset the loss of a player who gives a shit by selling one or two of Wink, Faes, Soumare etc.
  4. Selling him would be good business but he doesnt deserve the mocking he's getting on here. He's done well to establish himself as a championship player, scored a goal at PL level and surprised a lot of us. Maybe he will surprise us again, although it is best that he gets a fresh start elsewhere for his sake and ours.
  5. I would tend to agree with you about the 'step up' being a struggle if our first team strikers in Ayew and Daka weren't so woeful. It's not like he has a high bar to reach in order to be the best striker at the club. Daka is a poor finisher, Ayew has poor decision making. It was fine margins between Evans having a good pre season and him struggling, if Daka had finished that cross and if Ayew had squared it while in space we would be talking differently around him. I think if we gave Evans the same minutes that Daka and Ayew receive then he would do better for us in those minutes.
  6. I thought he looked surprisingly good in the friendlies. It's his loans that have put him out of favour.
  7. I seem to remember Savinho having a run of form at left wing with Man City last season. They might go in for him for his ability to beat a man and put a cross in from the left.
  8. All talk. Rodgers was the manager who oversaw and built that culture shift, he set the tone by holding the club at gunpoint midway through a top 4 push for a lucrative contract. The players just followed his lead. He was at the club 3 years before that Forest game and we didn't have that culture problem before him. In the relegation season instead of knuckling down and trying his best he started making weird team selection and substitution choices to try and prove a point to the board. The one that stands out is the first game of the season against Brentford in 30 degree heat when he only used two substitutions and had us draw from 2-0 up. I still think if he hadn't cost us the win that game we start the season more positively and finish midtable. Rodgers was the one who kept starting Danny Ward instead of Iversen as well. Rodgers was the one who spent the summer of 2021 calling up Vestergaard. He also admired Bertrand for many years. Rodgers was the one who insisted we hold onto our best players each summer instead of selling and reinvesting to refresh the squad. There are so so many more examples of Rodgers being one of the architects of the downfall of our club alongside Rudkin and Top, not a victim of them. He joined us with a short term mentality and an aim to get a top 6 job which never came. That lack of long term planning under his leadership was clear long before the Forest game, those comments were just of a man trying to save himself from a sinking ship that he himself had steered into an iceberg long ago.
  9. Yh I had a look to see if Siltanen had been mentioned before and saw your post which was excellent BTW. Of the ones you mentioned i like Hjerto Dahl as well. Really I think they would all be an upgrade on what we have currently in centre midfield. I think youre underrating Siltanen's physicality a bit, he has a very good tackling technique and uses his body well to put the opponents off balance to take the ball from them. Kind of similar to Kante it's not about the frame but how the player uses it and the determination the player has. Siltanen does seem to go over a bit too easily when getting tackled and is also very short so in some ways I do agree regarding physicality.
  10. I know he's been mentioned on here before but can we please sign Siltanen. Can do everything Winks does to a higher level (and more) and would also bring the energy and defensive contribution to our midfield that we desperately need. Big fan of all the strong tackles.
  11. Bit disappointing that the links have died down. He's going to still be here after the window closes isnt he. Even if he was a model professional I would still want him gone, just not good enough.
  12. Wow, really puts it into perspective how limited of a footballer Winks is. Hackney would be a very good player for us (and likely wouldnt come here) but with our limited funds I would still like us to go for a player that is a bit more focused on the defensive side of the game like that Zeneli guy Ric mentioned.
  13. He had just come back from a major injury and got injured shortly after joining them. It was the right decision for him to make the move and get the large contract when he could.
  14. Unpopular opinion but isnt Hackney just a better version of Winks? We need a midfielder who can cover ground and win the ball back, not another lightweight player that specialises in passing.
  15. Will be more of the same sadly minus El Khannouss. The one who would be unforgivable if he was in the team is Vestergaard after that display last weekend. Marti needs to learn to be ruthless, we don't need clean sheets we need to toss out the dirty ones and bring in new ones from the academy/transfer market.
  16. With Daka and Ayew as options i would rather play with no strikers than two
  17. He had a similar shakey first half against Wednesday then won us the game in the second half with two assists. Ayew was far worse and stayed on, subbing off El Khannouss was in my opinion the wrong decision and probably cost us the game.
  18. I was hoping that everyone would stop talking about him and he would somehow stop existing. Very worried at the possibility that he comes back from injury and actually starts playing for us again.
  19. Surely if youre looking for full backs to attack into the space then Aluko is our best option. His quick feet and ability to drive the ball forward helped us unlock defenses a few times in pre season.
  20. It's more in response to how our fans are disrespecting El Khannouss based on his stats and pointing out that there is a reason they are going for El Khannouss despite there being players with more goals and assists available.
  21. Can't blame him at all honestly.
  22. Think he mentioned the mental toll that being part of another relegation took on him as part of the reason he's leaving. Might have been his decision as much as ours.
  23. Notice how Crystal Palace are going after El Khannouss and not 20 g+a Josh Brownhill who many of our fans cream their pants over. Ability over numbers/experience every day of the week.
  24. Would take that honestly. A weaker season in the championship as a trade for an ownership that hopefully actually puts some effort in.
  25. Completely different players. Eze is an attacking midfielder who excels at taking on players and creating/scoring goals, El Khannouss is a natural 8 who is better at passing and controlling the flow of a game. There are some short memories on here, El Khannouss is well respected amongst fans of other clubs in the PL, look at the reaction to his performance against Man City despite getting 0 goals 0 assists There will be shouts of best midfield in the league when he plays deeper alongside Wharton, it's just our idiot club that keeps on trying to force him into a more attacking role.
