Now we have to reward that loyalty with an actual pathway to the first team. I remember all the noise last summer about how Will Alves was promoted to the first team then once he signed a new contract he was left out in the wilderness. Similarly Nelson has been left to rot.

Ex Players - They used to play for us
honeybradger replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
We've scored 6 of our 8 hattricks in the PL in the last decade. Vardy (3) Mahrez (1) Perez (1) Iheanacho (1). Before that only Collymore and Marshall had scored hattricks since 1992 in the top flight for us. So in terms of the top flight we've had our best decade for hat tricks in the last 30 years. In the championship we've had Fatawu, Chris Wood, Nugent, Yakubu, Gallagher, Howard and Conolly score hattricks. -

No, not in the squad -
Can someone start the West Brom pre match thread? This fixture has lost my attention.

Wasn't sure from the way it looked like his head dropped and seemed surprised by the goal. -
The 4-1 loss to Forest was at the time a big game for them but we had many bigger games around that time. In hindsight though that game and result was significant, felt like it marked the end of our best ever era.

Can't tell if that was a great pass or a miss-hit shot from Evans. -
Did he do anything at all this game?
-
This is set up perfectly for a Vardy sh*thouse winner.
-
Came to us from Coventry didn't he?
-
Vestergaard was shockingly bad that game. He has been solid since against Chartlon, Birmingham and Oxford (lower championship opposition) but his weaknesses are easily exploited. Don't be surprised if he drops clangers against any team that has decent attackers.

Did you not watch the Preston game?

He's pretty big. He came off the bench for the u21s and did well the other week so he has in part 'made the step up'. For some reason he's still getting grouped with the u18s though. Getting a hattrick won't have harmed his development though but he is at a risk of stagnating. -

It was Otchere up front in the last u21 game. He wasnt particularly impressive. Strange as Hutchinson played striker for the u18s ahead of him last season. -
Needs to be aluko on the left and Ricardo on the right. Aluko has the defensive capabilities and the ability to carry and dribble the ball that we need at fullback.

More than anyone i hope that Baybrooke has a good loan. His confidence looked shot in pre season which was sad to see. Even if he doesnt break through with us hopefully this loan puts his career back on track after that injury.
-
Considering Nelson isnt getting a sniff im not sure any of our loanees are likely to have a future here. If you cant get a chance after having a successful loan at the level the club are at currently then we won't be giving chances to league 2 loannees or league one or championship for that matter.

He was good against Huddersfield and Charlton which i assume are the two weaker games you are referencing. You dont need to be exceptional every game to be good. In comparison to the average BCDR game which contains multiple misplaced touches and a lack of taking on the opposition on, every game Monga has played for us has been good.
-
what is the defender doing
-
Monga has been good every time he has played. Has BCDR ever had a good game for us, maybe Brighton where he got a goal and assist? I think it's a reach to say the youth isnt as good as the old guard, especially when referencing Monga against Reid.

Good opportunity for Page to re-establish himself in the starting lineup at least. -
Is there any point in making any more comments on here? Everything that can be said about Skipp has already been said.

EFL THINKING OF CHANGING PLAY OFF FORMAT
honeybradger replied to Joe90's topic in Leicester City Forum
One of the main draws of the playoffs is that it keeps the league season more interesting for longer. With 8th securing a playoffs spot you will have the 4th-6th place teams likely in limbo for 1/3 of the season having secured their playoff places unless the league is unusually tight. I think it should be kept more exclusive between the 3-6th place teams. -
I find it interesting that our exits dried up soon after we announced we were comlliant with PSR after selling James Justin. It's just a hunch but I think we are far more capable of selling players over the last few years than we have shown, it's just the club are hoarders and are scared to move players on. That's the only way I can see the lack of sales making sense, for example refusing £5mil for Iversen then losing him on a free.

He played a really good ball to play the striker in at one point and had a few good dribbles. We're probably not going to get him to turn into a £5mil player, at least before his contract runs out, but I do think there's a good player in there if he has a good loan and a chance we can have him come good.
