I find this so funny that people think the team have just gone out and completely ignore what they’ve been doing in training and play their own way 😂 like they had their pre match talk and then in the tunnel collectively decided to completely ignore the last 9 months of training and just play their own way. The diagonal balls out from Faes to Mavidid and from vestagaard to Fatawu have been used in every single game we have played, just because it hasn’t come off every game doesn’t mean it isn’t part of enzo’s game plan. Dewsbury Hall was brilliant today and is so vital to how we play as well when since the turn of the new year he hasn’t been at his best, unfortunately we don’t have anyone who can step in for him when he is knackered or not playing at his best and emulate what he does for the team.

He looks absolutely rapid, fairly skilful and average at finishing. Seems a little big gangly with his dribbling, but I’d feel confident he could be coached in to being a bit more cutesy. We aren’t going to be able to go out and pick up top class finished articles, but if we can get players with good athleticism and a bit of skill, it’s a good base to then coach them in to the discipline and tactics. I wouldn’t be against it.

If he wasn't sacked he most likely would have gradually improved the team. He came in and tried to change the style and changed I think it was 15 players in the squad, so almost 2/3s of the squad. It was never going to click straight away. Hopefully our board will give him time to implement changes and tweak things throughout the season, they should have been reactionary last season and they weren't. They can't be too reactionary this season, so they probably will be 🤣

I get what you are saying, but my point was that Parma expected promotion and yet sacked their manager 1/3 of the way in to the season when he still had plenty of opportunity to fight for promotion. I've since found out as well that he was 4 points away from the play offs with a winter transfer window upcoming. He was one good signing and 2 good wins away from having them in a play off place and they sacked him. Anyway, the point still stands with Coventry, no? 😉

My point wasn't necessarily about who the managers were, just that a team can turn their season around. If he had been given the full year he may have gotten them promoted but they sacked him before he had the chance.

In fairness though, he was sacked in November because they weren’t in the promotion places yet. If you take the championship as an example, Middlesbrough, Coventry and Sunderland were all in the bottom 10 in November and all 3 made it in to the play offs. If he was given time he may have turned it around, it’s not really fair to judge someone on 1/3 of a season.

Maresca wasn’t sacked because he failed to get them promoted. He was sacked after 14 games, he wasn’t even given the chance to try and get them promoted.
