Buendia will go for at least what Maddison cost you’d imagine, he has the additional value of having shown what he can do in the Prem, but minus the English player premium.

Praet unlucky to miss out

Positives: Mendy very tidy, Barnes unplayable, Praet excellent, Castagne looks fantastic, JJ excellent going forward, Tielemans is truly back on it. Our goals are coming from all over the pitch. Negatives: Some poor defensive organisation (JJ left to handle Wood, for example), Vardy anonymous and looks a bit off the pace

He was significantly better in the first half, despite his goal IMO. Still, he has stepped up admirably given the level he was playing at before he joined us. Lots to come from him in a blue shirt.

We couldn’t hope for a better squad player tbh, I’m not sure how he keeps Youri or Maddison out of our best XI, but hope he gets plenty of time this season, in Europe and domestically.

Castagne has been so good since he joined. Struggling to think of players who’ve hit the ground running for us as well as him.

Possibly. It is a concern tbh, former pros often talk of a sudden drop off that seemingly hits them from nowhere. I pray he has a few more years in him, but we may need a new first choice in a year or so

Needless to say, JJ should not have been left to handle Wood, it’s a clear mismatch.

Aside from being shoved over by Wood (which some may argue was a foul...), Justin had a great half IMO not far off Castagne who was excellent on the other side.

Not sure why Wood’s goal stands tbh, lower than the armpit line or whatever the new wording is. Would definitely be disallowed last season.

Yh, the photo is of today I think, looks like it was taken off a TV in someone’s front room, but also looks they’ve badly photoshopped someone else’s leg/a bandage into it. The legs are also noticeably different sizes
