It’s not like we are looking at Fofana and ignoring all other options though. Even if we signed Fofana I’d be a bit surprised if we didn’t get another more experienced player on loan also, assuming Benkovic leaves/isn’t an option. I’m sure the club are considering many possible CBs as we speak.

IMO this is one where waiting till the end of the window might pay off. Brinkmanship from St Etienne, but they need money and he is their most saleable asset.

Interesting. I suspect this will go right down to the deadline, St Etienne clearly trying to invite as much money as possible into the club. Given prior stories about their finances, and Fofana being their main asset right now, I’d be surprised if he was still their player in two weeks.
