The punishments aren’t exactly a disincentive to spending now are they? We are getting punished regardless by both EFL and PL, so we might as well spend money to try and offset the inevitable points deductions. It’s pretty likely we face a large points deduction this season and go straight back down, and then face an EFL promotion battle on a further points deduction and a transfer embargo. We should be looking to rebuild the squad with that in mind.

Some fairly good players out of contract this summer. Brownhill seems an obvious addition to me, also wouldn’t mind a punt on the likes of Nicolas Pepe for a free to add depth to the wings. We should be looking to build a squad with half an eye on needing to win promotion again in a years time, likely facing a transfer embargo and points deduction during that season too. We won’t do that though. We are going to be likely facing a massive points deduction, can see it being bigger than Everton’s. It’ll be a big ask for us to survive and be say 10 points clear of the relegation zone (pre deduction), which is where we will likely need to be to actually survive with the impending points deduction.

Another pre season jaunt around Thailand in monsoon season, playing full one game before the start of the season, landing the day before our first kick off with no allowance for jet lag.

Had 36% possession but 11 shots… almost like we are quite effective when we don’t try to obsessively retain the ball at every opportunity. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Vardy has looked the best he has all season in general play in a game where we are letting the opponent have the ball and are pressing them high.

Ndidi > Akgun please

This is the best Vardy has played in general play all season. Much more impact on the game than he usually has.

Whilst obviously winning this would be ideal, a draw is also a good result imo. 3 wins in their last 4, and a draw would still have us top of the league with Saints and Leeds to play each other.

Thought Daka to charge down their defenders late on made a fair bit of sense tbh, he is by a distance the best of our strikers at pressing, even if he can’t hit a barn door at the moment.
