  1. I’ve been encouraged enough by Ayew in pre season to think he’s well worth the risk. Tremendous upside if it goes well, if it doesn’t, we likely recoup 3m or so in a couple of years time - which is likely to be his book value at the time. Imagine he won’t want mega wages either, get him in the bag!!!
  2. Felt they had QPR, West Brom and Boro too low. Coventry, Pompey and Swansea too high. But the rational for all of those was fair. I know Elek annoyed a few on here 2 years ago, but it’s a belting pod, they know far more than others (2nd tier pod) on it.
  3. Very impressed with how well Marti has set us up already, think we’ve seen Hamza, Skipp and Thomas have really took his tactical instructions on board really well. Really hope we don’t see Vestegaard start ahead of Nelson but I back that to change over time. Think we still need a DM, CF and a creative midfielder (should BEK leave), but I’m super excited for the season ahead now. Love how quick he wants us to play the ball forward and get our wingers (who are insane for this level) involved.
  4. Well this is nice isn’t it. Still convinced that Vestegaard and Soumare should never wear the shirt again, but god we’ve got some wingers haven’t we!
  5. Trying to think of matches I felt Coady played well in. Definitely Bournemouth away in the cup under Enzo, maybe West Ham at home this season, other than that he always looked like he was a man played out of position, which let’s be honest, he was. I think he will do well at Wrexham actually, two young centre backs along side him to organise in a back 3 will suit him down to the ground.
  6. Feel like in 12 months time I could be answering this with Jordan Ayew.
  7. forward options of Kone, Ayew, Daka and Evans works for me….until AFCON
  8. **** me, if foxestalk ends up taking Ric down for false ITK knowledge, it's the apocalypse
  9. Agree (although I see Aluko as a full back), but I'd happily still see Vestergaard and Faes move on, and we bring in 1 replacement (Chris Mepham would be sensible, Matthew Pollock would be the dream)
  10. I’m taking the view the 7.5m deal has been amortised across his 3 year deal at 2.5m a year. Taking wages into account, we’d break even on the year if we sold for £500k, but there is obviously the cost of any replacement to consider. I think if we can push Wrexham up to £2.5m, it’s a no brainer. I’d sell at £2m
  11. I can see Bilal starting against Sheff Wednesday, scoring and assisting and then someone comes in for him the next day. Similar to Hamer for Cov two seasons ago.
  12. It is, but also consider the benefit of getting his wages off the books. if I’m right, we would lose £500k on his transfer but save around £2m on his wages.
  13. People forget last season was Kone’s first full season in professional football. He’s got tremendous upside, although I have doubts if he can be the main number 9 for a promotion chasing side next season because of that inexperience. I’ll happily see us take that chance though.
  14. Oh I completely agree….talking of an ideal scenario here.
  15. Coady makes sense for them tbh, they play 3 at the back, need some experience. I get it. I’m nowhere near his biggest critic, but I’d happily see him leave for any fee.
  16. Time we shifted Wanya on permanently, I don’t think he will ever make the grade here. loans for the rest you mention, apart from Joseph who I think is versatile enough to be a squad member, as long as we shift enough out the door first. I’d add Golding to that list for going out on loan too.
  17. I think Winks, Skipp, Ndidi is pretty good at championship level. Don’t get me started on Soumare.
  18. Cannot see Dju staying in Denmark past the summer, wouldn’t be surprised if Brentford see him as a Mbuemo/Wissa replacement. Annoyingly, this summer has seen plenty of good young centre forwards go for affordable prices. Affordable, that is, for clubs with their shit in order.
  19. Donley and Guiu on loan, 3 or 4 of ours to go out on loan. Hermansen, Kristiansen and BEK to be sold.
  20. Bertaccini would be an incredible signing. Wouldn’t mind him at Leicester
  21. I’m getting a huge feeling that we spend nothing this summer. Can absolutely picture us shifting 4 or 5 out, mostly on loan, and waiting for next season as the major reset. This will be a largely lost season where we take our PSR medicine
  22. All Leuven aren’t we
  23. Solid pickup. Will be good for Stol, a steady backup and also probably shows it’s likely Hermansen leaves soon, which is needed
  24. Even Vestegaards decent season under Enzo, was decent because he could start the tempo of the play from the back, his defensive performances were still largely worrying. I can see Nelson and Coady working as a partnership, although will be interesting to know Marti’s thoughts on Souttar. Centre back partnership still up in the air that’s for sure
  25. Worrying how open we looked in midfield. Found Winks’ positioning really odd where he appeared too high on many occasions. I actually think, penalty aside, Skipp had a decent match and showed the energy needed for his role. Vestegaard was horrific, as he always is and always has been. Encouraged by Cifuentes early doors though, players look fit and engaged with his methods. Though McAteer showed all of his qualities off the ball and a tidy finish too. I think Jordan Ayew is showing some real quality over pre-season and I’m more than happy for him to play a decent role this year. We really need to shift a few out this week, and look at bringing a couple in, but think we are getting very close to seeing our starting 11 for opening day (Ricardo and Mavididi injuries being the main question marks)
