I've been to loads of gigs over the years. Lots of heavy rock, metal, mainly, but a very broad range from Jose Feliciano to Van Morrison to Motorhead and lots in between. I've seen Oasis 4 times and what disappointed me every time was the length of the shows. 60 minutes dead, then a 2 song encore (roughly). I don't want musicians to embark on long monologues either, but there was really very little connection with the crowd, other than Liam mumbling shit in barely comprehensible Mancunian. They really had very little stage craft, though I saw them in the 90's only, maybe they got better. In my mid 20's, I loved them, but I've come to see how limited they were with age. I don't dislike them now, but I stopped buying after the 4th album

I was at both of these below gigs, Earls Court in 1995 and Balloch Country Park, Loch Lomond in 1996. There isn't a lot of footage of Loch Lomond apart from terrible crowd recordings unfortunately, so it's a 2 minute clip. I still have my ticket stub for Loch Lomond, sadly my Earls Court stub didn't survive. The hype surrounding them during 96 and 97 was off the scale and it genuinely felt like being part of something getting tickets for both these gigs, I was in my mid 20's and a bit stoopid then though... Found around 50 ticket stubs the other day in a tin. Brought back a few memories. Been to hundreds of gigs but the others must have been lost in various house moves, sadly.

Unfair on Drinkwater. I despair of anyone that's genuinely enjoying his current woes and there are some.

They're not in India but Dhanbad Amartey and Kolkata Iheanacho would work. Must try harder. Back to the coronavirus thread for you

I don't really care about Delhi Ali, what about our players? There's question marks over Jaipur Maddison, Bangalore Soumare and Ahmedabad Perez.

Doesn't usually stop them. That's my whole point really. Most of them 'find' an excuse when they lose, usually to do with an official or decision. He had a legitimate reason to be aggrieved. I thought it was refreshing, that's all. Ok, it wasn't refreshing and you're right
-
I was impressed with your manager after the match. He had every reason to feel aggrieved at the penalty decision but he accepted it without resorting to any bull. He didn't agree with it, but accepted it and said let's move on. Very refreshing in comparison to many premier league managers. Seems a no nonsense man.

Sorry, but this has just sailed right over my head.

There'll be even less people willing to put aside 5 days for a sporting event in 20 years time. That's the reality in 2021. Test cricket is dying on it's arse. Other nations recognised this long before England and got on board. We've come late to the party and finally got together a pretty good set of limited overs players. Unfortunately, it's been to the detriment of the test side, but they knew that was likely when they put so much into the T20 and one day teams. I enjoy one day games, but nothing compares to Test matches for me. I think I'm part of an ever decreasing minority though. If there's test cricket for another 25 years, that'll probably see me out. After that, I'm not sure I give a toss what happens.

Newcastle (h) : 14:00 Sunday Pre-Match

No one will ever mention those Liverpool/Newcastle matches again after this. 5-4 City. -
Most England fans thought they'd be 1-0 down after the first test, and here we are. Positives. We have an attack that looks like it can take 20 wickets, that hasn't always been the case in Oz. Robinson continues to look the business and Wood impressed at times. Chasing 200 in the 4th innings, I wouldn't put much brass on Australia to do so, at any ground. Unfortunate we're as bad. After his first innings, nice to see Root batting in his usual composed manner in the 2nd innings. He desperately needed to not start with two low scores and thankfully he hasn't. Malan showed he can do it. If he can continue to be solid, an historically weak position may at least be covered at no 3 in the order. Robinson continues to look a class act with the ball in hand. The Aussie batting also looks fragile, most of us suspected that. We just dropped too many catches. Smith dismissed for 12. Negatives Plenty of criticism for Rodgers on here for failing to eradicate recurring problems, how long have these 30/4 scenarios been happening. It's the cricket equivalent of conceding 2 goals every game. Burns, never has looked quite good enough and the weakest link in an already ropey top 4. With the start he's had, it's a reach to see him doing much in this series, and that would make it more difficult to get anything. I suspected this might be Labuschagne's Ashes and he's started well. He has the ability to be even more annoying than Smith. He grinds bowlers and fielders down on those big Aussie pitches and wears them out. It's vital we have a plan to get him early or he'll pile on the runs in this series. Fielding...Always a massive part of the match and even more vital when toiling away in the heat. England had a period in the not too distant past when they barely shelled anything. Why has the catching been poor for what seems like an eternity now? All in all, got a 9 wicket tanking and deservedly so. Quote and ridicule me after the 5th test by all means, it could well be 5-0, but there are some reasons for hope, enough for me to boldly claim we'll win one test at least.

It could be all that. Or, maybe he just doesn't know what he's doing. I'm starting to believe it's the latter. It's not like Rodgers is searching for a solution, he's making bizarre, panic ridden changes at times. Some players go from undroppable to hardly featuring, some go the other way. The only thing that's consistent, is that his teams have conceded roughly 2 goals per match all season and he seemingly has no idea how to arrest the slide. He's the only manager I can remember (of any team), who seems to have made every player worse than they were. That's some achievement. (Ok, a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not that far off the mark).

What an astounding comment for a manager to make. I'm can't fathom what his thinking is. Is it 'well I'm a winner, so I didn't consider what might happen if we fvcked it up'? It's an extraordinarily arrogant remark and smacks of a man under serious pressure. At least those who think he doesn't care are probably wide of the mark. It's a bad look for the club though. Unfortunately, his goose looks cooked to me. I switched to the out brigade after the Chelsea match. There were some who thought that was a harsh game to judge him on, but Chelsea have been shown to be a bit fragile since and we didn't lay a glove on them. Nothing I've seen since convinces me we are going anywhere but backwards. If Rodgers stays and has a large influence on who we bring in over the next couple of transfer windows, the damage could be limitless. It's not ideal and it'll cost a fortune, but I've no confidence in Rodgers turning this around. I'm generally not an hysterical 'manager out' type, I defended Puel longer than I should have, but we look at a dead end.

Where do you see us in 5 years time?

If Brendan is still in charge... As Sean Dyche wins his first premier league title with Man City, we'll be fighting it out for promotion back to the big boys league. Blocking our path will be Frank Lampard's Lincoln, Steven Gerrard's Barnsley and Cristiano Ronaldo's Wolves. Wolves had been 15 points clear, but were docked 25 points for fielding a non Portuguese player against Hull. Daka has scored 50 goals in 24 games offsetting our defensive record of 50 goals conceded. Oh, and Kasper has broken the football league record for passes belted straight out of play. On the plus side, two of his mishit clearances to the left back sailed into the oppositions net and he is the clubs 2nd highest scorer. -

Which one are Omicron playing? -
Rarely listened to a Rodgers interview, even when we were doing well. I can't imagine how the players listen to him every day and remain focused. I guess they don't.
-
Might knock some sense into Harvey that. Not holding my breath.
-
If we do slip to 3rd tonight, this match wasn't the biggest problem. Losing to Legia was unforgivable, without that shitshow against a very poor side, we'd be through already.
-
Jesus, that was a bit breathless. Can't fault the resilience they've shown, can fault the defending. We should take this 2nd half against this Napoli XI. Fingers crossed.
-
We have, there's no doubt. I can't believe we've turned to Stokes again. The poor bloke will need a rest from all cricket after the first test at this rate. We went in knowing he wouldn't be able to bowl much. The game is close to being gone here, why flog him? Stokes and Robinson hobbling in on day 2 of the Ashes. We could lose this 5 match series 6-0 if we carry on like this. Aggers 'I can't believe England will take the new ball, they have no one left to bowl it'.
-
Australia showing you never deviate from a plan that works. They wobbled, but they've hung in there. Now, late afternoon, they're flogging the knackered England bowlers. Travis Bradman is on 73 from 60.. Leach has been absolutely horrendous.
-
Shame Warner didn't reach 3 figures... Whoa, Robbo on a hat-trick.
-
Ah I assumed by 'start', you meant as Starc reached his mark and 'bowled him' when Burns lost his mind and his stumps . Hence my confusion.
-
I mean, it's a bit like New Zealand/Wales at rugby, you always know the script..

There wasn't much of a gap between those two. Does 15 seconds actually count as sleep?
