  1. Naive is a spot on description: Can anyone access the full version? Winter writes and speaks about us well so interesting to see what he said.
  2. Not a random tweet, Fabrice Hawkins is one of the top French journalists
  3. I think it's worth posting the full quote on 'we'll be OK' in 2022-3 - suggests to me he was concerned but kept getting reassurances they'd be fine. He's too much of a 'fan boy' and trusting, that's a serious problem. I don't think it was so much complacency. “I still do not understand why we go down. I talked to a lot of players at that time. I think the main problem was we had no experience of a relegation fight. We were so relaxed that we were going to be OK. What I heard is: ‘Boss, don’t worry, we’ll be OK.’ We were not OK … I could not play so I tried to help every single aspect that I could. I can get in, talk to them, shake them up, whatever I could do, I did it. The Premier League is difficult, but we shouldn’t have been in that position.”
  4. Could you imagine Rudkin continuing his grudge vs. Vardy by appointing Cambiasso as manager, the scenes!
  5. Guess they took a lesson from that and have floated different names since.
  6. Not defending Top but they have form for testing names with fans, and when Wilder's name was leaked, the response was generally negative. Same for Russell Martin and Gary O'Neil. The fact that they reportedly spoke to all 3 shows there wasn't a clear direction.
  7. Collomosse saying on x that we're targeting an experienced candidate.
  8. Fair enough, but either way you look at it, he needs to be more involved or sell up.
  9. What comes across is Top is more a fan and less an owner, there's so much optimism that things will get better but he doesn't make it happen enough. He delegates the management and sets the vision, and that's about it. The contrast between him and someone like Tony Bloom is wild - he has to stop being loyal to the people around him (who appear to take advantage of his confidence) and make the changes, getting modern, high quality people in the positions rather than dinosaurs like Rudkin. If not, he has to go.
  10. Do you think this board is smart enough to do that, especially with a local journalist based in a different country? Did you listen to Top's interview - they don't have that ruthless, crafty personality.
  11. No, we have a choice of a loan agreed with an obligation to buy or pay upfront. Looks like this was one was held up as Marti wasn’t sure on him.
  12. He’s gone, you don’t give out this info if there was any chance of Marti staying. Feels like they just need to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.
  13. Exactly what I meant but you put it much better!
  14. He should have gone a while ago but what I’m talking about is today. From a comms view, it shows he’s finally taking control - but needs to back it up with action which has been sorely lacking. If he doesn’t act, the reaction will only get worse and the club suffers more.
  15. But then some fans will complain about the lack of comms. He can do both, shows he’s taking charge and not tolerating the rubbish.
  16. Where did I say about dropping him? The whole team was rubbish today, and Page will only get better with experience.
  17. Game of opinions - the mistake for their goal was very costly and his set pieces were poor in the 1st half. I get we all want homegrown players to do well, I'm the same. But he wasn't good today, although did improve 2nd half.
  18. He was poor today, arguably at fault for their goal, although his set pieces did get better. But most of the team were, only Vesty had a half-decent game.
  19. What intriguing managers did you have in mind @kingfox? Had been thinking Mowbray or Carvahal but impressed with what Challinor has done at Stockport.
  20. That was one of the most horrible performances I've seen. Marti surely has to go - more than 20 games in a row without a clean sheet. Players are regressing - Jakub is a shadow of himself. The team clearly aren't having him. It's the same week-in, week-out - teams play long ball against us to get the defence turning, they fight harder and win the second balls or set piece knock-ons and create chances. We're so easy to play against.
  21. That was such an awful goal to concede but was is Jakub doing for it? Doesn’t come off his line and makes it so easy for them to score. His confidence is shot.
  22. That was a shocking first half. One of the most appalling performances I’ve seen given the level of the opposition. Disgraceful. We effectively have no striker so Oxford have it too easy, so many mistakes as well.
  23. Mercury has confirmed he starts today in place of James. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/louis-page-selection-decision-confirmed-10774475
