  1. Yeah. They are determined to punish us, as they'll argue it's for the integrity of the competition having punished other clubs. They need to show the league that they are doing all they can. So if it fails, they can then at least say they did what they could to make up for their loose wording. And also creates more uncertainty for the club.
  2. This is such an Icarus tale - the club got too ambitious and still paying the price. Hearing Maguire reinforces that 22-23 was such a disaster class, it should be studied as a case study for not what to do. Effectively, until almost all the higher earners from that era are off the books (plus Winks), we're competing with one hand tied behind our backs. I've said this before but how the club allowed well over £100m worth of talent leave on a free is akin to criminal negligence - that is on Rodgers, Top, Rudkin and Whelan. As @K789 says, the main hope I've had for the PSR hearing is they changed the rules after the issue took place, and that would struggle to hold up in the court of law.
  3. 2023 was a strong summer of recruitment, and the first time we had a talented coach with a clear style since he arrived. From what I remember, Fatawu and Mads were both Glover recommendations. You have to remember for 2024, a number of players rejected a move due to the potential points reduction, and we ended up getting Steve Cooper targets like Ayew and Skipp. The manager still has the final say on signings at Leicester, as shown by the Diabete move being held up by Marti. Until the structure of the club changes, the director of recruitment will more likely struggle than not as it's so dependent on the manager.
  4. Agree, but then you see the mismanagement at Man Utd for many years, Man City buying a whole new squad and not having major repercussions, you know the system is rigged. One bad summer transfer window screwed us, began the downward spiral and the board have compounded it with one awful decision after another.
  5. Worth a read about how smaller clubs can’t enjoy prolonged success because of the way football is structured: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6982800/2026/01/21/crystal-palace-demise-lessons/?source=twitteruk PSR is rubbish and sadly so is the board, the whole thing stinks.
  6. No idea what the club is doing, seemed like such an obvious pick up
  7. Disagree on him doing nothing wrong. He was poor vs Sheff Utd and could have done better on Middlesbrough's equaliser, so it made sense for Jakub to come straight back in giving how good he had been earlier in the season. However, since returning to the team, he's been error prone and confidence is low - surely he'll be working on parrying the ball out of danger? At this time, with what's happening outside of the team as well, experience is important so would be happy if there was a change.
  8. Agree, Choudhury's passing ability seems to have regressed further.
  9. It's a pretty obscure journalist for the club, would get that view more if it was a England-based journalist or one of the major ITKs. I think this is a genuine link but the club is a mess - I think you're giving them too much credit for suggesting they're being as sneaky as this!
  10. Here is a clip of the interview, wow: Hope he actually doesn’t believe that it was the weather!
  11. Sounds like we offered very little attacking-wise, but arguably that's one of our better defensive performances of the season with an expected goals conceded of 1.01 against an in-form Wrexham. And we actually did more tackles, interceptions and blocks than the opposition, and won more ground duels. That might be a first this season! Looks like this back four might be the way forward, the basics were better (and thankfully no Luke Thomas!). Another positive is we keep going. But what a bore, criminal how he doesn't get more from Mavididi and Fatawu. Ayew is not a striker either - with the talent in this team, there should be so much more than this. It's such a pain to watch.
  12. The journalist who broke the story was on BBC Radio Leicester. Reaffirmed his story, said the deal is sorted with the club but needs Marti’s approval as he has a couple more options. Wrexham are in for him as well. Either a loan with obligation to buy, or purchase for almost £2 million. Describes the player as strong, fast and good finisher, a bargain purchase.
  13. Not quite, seen and heard certain fans say we were offered £5m for him. The fact is the bid was 1.5m euros - made so much sense to sell anyway without taking wages into account even without hindsight. But now his value is falling the more he plays, and he's damaging the team's prospects. And as you say, when you take the wages into account, it's even worse.
  14. Not Bilal’s night in the AFCON, such a shame for him
  15. Sean from Enderby said it’s fake news so this story is definitely true!
  16. Seen 5m being quoted, which is incorrect (don't get why so many fans exaggerate when the club's mistakes and ineptitude speak for themselves!). It was 1.5m but we should still have taken the deal.
  17. Getting to Lee Marshall levels of terrible.
  18. Just seen the 2nd goal, shocking from Thomas. So many people have commented on his lack of physique, it's something he could have worked on. He seems to have a similar body shape to what he had when he first broke through! The modern game demands strength, it's something he and the club should have sorted. Ridiculous, must not be in the team. And what's he doing for their first goal as well - on the line but not on the corner of the goal. If he had been positioned properly, that might have been prevented.
  19. Looks legit, story from an actual journalist Translation says: “The club has a couple of other tracks they are working on in parallel, so it remains to be seen whether they will take in the Allsvenskan top scorer or not. “Cifuentes is expected to make a decision regarding Diabaté in the near future. Leicester are currently in 12th place in the English Championship. Welsh side Wrexham are also interested in signing the striker, according to Sportbladet.”
  20. And not keeping a clean sheet in this league for so long is awful and unacceptable.
  21. I don’t get why he keeps picking him. Dropped him twice this season due to poor performance and then reselects him after a decent performance against a lower league side. He isn’t good enough, everyone can see that.
  22. Hoping the decision to pick him is to show the board how crap he is so they get a wriggle on getting a LB.
  23. I know this mess is pretty much entirely on the club owners and directors, but when you see Man City spunk £100m on Khusanov and Marmoush, and have no repercussions from it, shows what nonsense PSR is. They've spent so far including Guehi around £275m this season alone so far.
  24. Piroe would be an excellent signing, but it's not the best source. Sounds like Wilson is off to Saudi, doubt we were actually after him.
  25. Sunderland have just hijacked a move for another right winger, Jocelyn Ta Bi so hopefully this rumour is fake news.
