Was going to post about Pavlovic yesterday as a potential option but didn't as was fed up of us not even appearing to be making moves. There are some interesting loan options among the big Italian clubs.

How significant was the loss of Kasper Schmeichel?

Exactly! -
How significant was the loss of Kasper Schmeichel?
lcfc_forever replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
It was - reported at the time they fell out, and some players weren’t liking Kasper’s high demands on them. Remember when he dropped Kasper for Ward vs. Watford for no reason but to end his consecutive run of appearances in his last season? Guess he realised later it was a stupid error and they made up. His performance yesterday was superb. -

This was a huge mistake by Rodgers, and another example of Rudkin’s mismanagement as he gave him complete control. Kasper’s performances were on the decline statistically but he gave leadership to the team and demanded high standards, things became too comfortable for the players when he left. And goes without saying he would have been better than Ward! -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Exactly, looks like they’ve decided the angle and picked the quotes to support it rather than have any actual evidence. But wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true anyway. -
Guardian now reporting he's moving to West Ham as well

Going to Udinese

We can dream:
-
We're three points off survival, so makes sense for the club to maximise its budget to attract players that can keep us in the division.
-
But his manner in press conferences so far doesn’t suggest it but that may well change!
-
Fully agree. I don't get it either, and Ruud seems to be fine with it based on his interviews so far, but that could change. Some potential scenarios: 1. We're waiting for the Cannon money so we can go after a different calibre of player, and that has a knock-on impact on other targets 2. We're looking at the loan market but that takes longer as teams want to see where they are towards the end of the window 3. Something's changed as part of the PL comms to the club about the PSR decision so they're having to be more careful
-
It's Sky Sports so take it with a pinch of salt. If Cannon goes, I suspect that are funds but it will be low fees as Percy reported.

West Ham have bid £57m for Duran according to Ornstein
-
Yeah, the tax issue screwed that transfer up. Palace reportedly didn't sign him for the same reason.
-
I think it's how quickly things have changed - if it had been a slower fall, then I think even our fans will have accepted it more. To go from 5th with a high standard of recruitment to PL strugglers with no recruitment strategy within a few seasons is unacceptable. Surely opposition fans and the media can understand that?
-
Don't think we could have signed Zaha anyway - not only is there his tax issue, but hasn't he played for two European clubs already this season?
-
Yep, this has been a big issue - Winks especially. I thought him and Soumare wouldn't work together and that's been proven. I think RVN sees this too, hence the link to Toby Collyer but looks like he's part of Amorin's plans now. Generally, feels like the club are stuck between deciding whether to go for it and invest more, or lick their wounds and rebuild in the Championship. Or they could also be waiting for the Cannon money so they can get a different profile of player? It's all such a mess!
-
Tanner has suggested we need the Cannon sale for more signings. But RVN was promised money and signings for January, and doesn't seem impatient. Make it make sense!

Show them this when people say we’re entitled:
-
Just raised his hands rather than closing down the player for their first goal, so lightweight.

Winks raising his arms rather than closing the player down for their first goal tells you it all. -

I’ve backed RVD, could see our general play getting better but what was that Bilal sub about? Awful decision and turned the crowd when we were getting momentum. -
Spot on. Also, the club will be re-calibrating their budget with Cannon likely moving on so we may have different targets.
-
Fully agree. Sounded like Skipp was a Cooper signing as he worked with him at youth level. We so need a director of football who leads the strategy, rather than leaving it to the manager and then the club keeps chopping and changing, leaving players bought for big money on the sidelines.
