  1. Hope he never plays against us.
  2. The look of emotion in his face when we finally won the FA Cup. No saying this is my absolute favourite but just a little different.
  3. Despite the relegation just imagine when Jamie signed for us what a fantastic integral part of our club he would become. A statue must be commissioned immediately by the club.
  4. Thank for this. Being a bit of a WW1 buff as well as Led Zep fan I was intrigued when they used a famous photo of the German Jasta 11 pilots for Led Zep 2 album cover and superimposed the band. Most of the real pilots did not survive the war.
  5. You may well be correct. I think Edward III started the ball rolling in George's favour.
  6. At least St George is not a new fangled idea put forward by a modern pressure group. Put the blame on Edward the Third I believe
  7. Perhaps opt for St Edmund November 20th
  8. Bad enough though
  9. Rather different from the cacooned environment of the under 21 national side where you have the pick of best players without having to be involved in transfers or dealing with a DOF or board.
  10. He didn't want Claudio
  11. Not saying Carsley is not the answer but coaching young England players is nothing like the day to day club job where results are needed quickly and regularly. Not saying he is like Southgate but he did OK with England but wouldn't want him as a club manager.
  12. Agreed about Brentford. The shame is that the gap between the finances between the two top divisions is too vast. I think the armchair fan needs to open the mind though I grant you a Sheffield derby for example is an attraction even if both clubs were in the third tier.
  13. I remember the Damned United film in the scene where Brian Clough is aghast at Peter Taylor going to the football backwater of Brighton. Times change as Brighton is billed as London By The Sea and Tony Bloom's investment.
  14. On any given day a match between two unfancied teams can be more of a spectacle than two of the giants. Agree the system has made the league unhealthy
  15. Under your criteria rather than break the cartel only clubs with previous honours or famous ex players should be in the top division. Palace have never won anything but could possibly win the cup.
  16. We had won precious little up to 1997
  17. What if Huddersfield got back in? Won the title 3 years running in the 20s or is that too historical?
  18. Be interesting to see how a big club like Leeds do next season. I wouldn't say a Bournemouth or Brentford would be immune to relegation on merit. What would be a surprise is if an Everton or Spurs went down. I can remember when Spurs and Man U went down from the old first division. What the big clubs don't like is when a Wimbledon or Wigan bloody their noses and actually win honours
  19. This ignores the beauty of the league pyramid that just about survives. So called bigger clubs don't have the divine right to be in the top division and fans should embrace the clubs that break in.
  20. I agree that PSR helps the cartel. Can't agree with Bournemouth Brentford comment. There are football snobs out there that feel the same way about clubs like Leicester. People should broaden their horizons otherwise it increases the obsession with the usual suspects. Bit like that Spurs fan when we were going for the title. " Leicester are nobodies"
  21. Anybody is a risk of course no matter their CV. Dyche will as you say bring a disciplinary attitude. Results over style is the priority. Can work on a budget too.
  22. This match reminds me of the recent final against Selby. Higgins makes a mistake but has the luck not to leave anything
  23. Yep. Kasper our most capped player. Andy King got 50 odd for Wales. John O'Neill did hold the record for years with 39 caps after passing 37 for Gordon while at Leicester
