The BBC News team doing a great job of pursuing the illegal vape shops etc. How on earth did local councils and other authorities allow them to set up in such numbers in the first instance?
-
Unfortunately there is often an element that will use crowd anger as an opportunity to engage in violent and other criminal acts. I guess a lot of them don't care much about the original incident. All this deflects from the horrific crime and how the authorities vet people allowed to settle here particularly young single men
-
I don't think the folk and Police facing that bloke last night would agree. Is he mentally deranged or just an evil bastard
-
I wonder if we pinpoint one type of crime such as knife incidents in schools. This is a major concern of the public particularly the young age of the knife carriers. Is it just more coverage of events or has there been an increase since say 1996.
-
Also I understand on arrival the coppers were told that the chap had a mouth full of blood and the Police said he had taken a beating so injury was at least a possibility
-
Interesting that we expect people employed in professions like the Police or Teachers to be fully vetted and there is outrage when the process has been shown to have failed. What is the process when someone is allowed to settle here?

I thought going back just the 64 years was enough for living memory

I suppose rightly or wrongly this has its roots in the 1962 Cuban Missles Crisis

I remember years ago my next door neighbour planted ivy and it scrambled over the boundary fence. It looks great. So much better than a plain fence. The fence is still standing more than 25 years on.
-
Just to add that although Ivy clings to trees it is not a parasite.
-
I understand that healthy trees should not be affected by ivy. Perhaps the branches were damaged by something else? I can see why you don't want ivy to overtake everything but hopefully you can enjoy the benefits.
-
Would be better suited to Fleetwood

Ivy gets a bad rap but it is actually a valuable plant for wildlife. Birds nest in it and bees feed on the flowers. It doesn't harm trees or damage walls or fences

The club must be mad as a box of frogs. Totally stuck on this idle possession until we give the ball away and concede idea.

I just can't understand why Rudkin, Top and co think Martin is the right choice. One decent season at Southampton and that was not exactly outstanding and the rest of his management time has been mediocre at best or distrarous. Rather than a manager/coach on the up he is damaged goods. Maybe he could rebuild his career at another club but not with us as we are desperate to stop the slide and need to get back to the Championship at least quickly.
-
Just hope Another Club FC outbid our ridiculous attempt to land Martin
-
We had two seasons that were a debacle. Martin's last job ended in a debacle. Perfect match up.
-
Completely nonplussed as to what the club see in Martin. The obsession with the style of football is surely discredited. Martin's recent appointments have unravelled horribly. Maybe there is redemption but heck of a gamble

Is it April 1st

I see on BBC that NHS trusts are making plans to ban staff from wearing political badges etc. To me this seems obvious. Why on earth would staff expect to be able to display their personal political views or support while on duty is beyond me.
-
Just to add. We know Reform currently have 8 MPs. The Tories 116 and Lib Dems 72 but the media make it all about Farage
-
So annoying that Farage makes a comment that the media concentrate on far more than comments made by politicians from other parties that currently are in power or the leading opposition party etc.
-
Also fair comment
