  1. So true. The anti Tory vote has been split so often in the past. We have seen in previous by elections Tories voted out only for their voters return to them in a GE. This time is different
  2. Perhaps a modern Clem Attlee
  3. It might well have counted in Leicester South.
  4. Somehow the 25 to 40% who don't vote is more of a concern
  5. Yes. If it's legal so what. At this rate this forum will be renamed Moaners R Us
  6. Would this lead to extremist parties holding balance of power in the future?
  7. Age should not be too much of issue if stays fit. Seems to have a decent experience of Premier League and Fulham did OK.
  8. Is this a case of too many people not bothering to vote?
  9. Not a likable trait
  10. Yes. Katie blew it really. Can't stand the lack of composure during a match from Dart
  11. Good to see the chap on the right wearing the right colour today (obviously opposite to the football)
  12. I agree not the whole picture which is why I mentioned family and personal responsibilities. I think that the reasons are many and complex. I often said that if low level crime was observed in the Chief Constable's neighbourhood it would soon be cracked down on while elsewhere it goes on unpunished which leads to more serious problems.
  13. Not sure if this has been mentioned. There has been a 70% cut to youth services since 2010 and a loss of 4,500 jobs that work with young people. Without taking away personal and family responsibilities surely this is at least partly the cause of youth crime
  14. I usually want Labour to be more radical but this would scare off a lot of voters. I think a lot of people that would benefit most from a radical Labour government don't vote. I have a lot of sympathy for the Greens but under our system and living in a marginal Tory seat that has previously been Labour I'm not going to do anything to to risk a split anti Tory vote and they get back in. Labour for me.
  15. Only been on since May 21 though used to read comments much earlier. Congratulations to the pioneers
  16. Ah yes my thought too. I remember back in 1970 we settled down to watch the Brazil match on tv when we had to quickly unplug the set as it started to emit lots of smoke. Went to next door neighbour who were a lovely Irish couple. Asked if they were going to watch the England game and they said yes and immediately invited me, mum and dad in. I recall them offering more than one or two double Irish whiskies to parents. By the way Jeff Astle missed a sitter to equalise
  17. Just to repeat and sorry if boring this baby boomer has never voted Tory. My Labour voting daughter is often at loggerheads with her best friend who votes Tory simply because she send her kids to private school and the VAT issue
  18. There is something about the tone of Matterface I find irritating
  19. Glad to confirm this over 67 is not a Daily Mail reader
  20. Ramsey apart regrettably the bar is not that high. Southgate and his team choked when the pressure was really on
  21. Impressed with Toney. Especially as he currently plays for a smaller club
  22. The luck run out for Napoleon and his generals
  23. Glad this is an early evening match. Another 30 minutes of agony
