How he took it over mavididi (especially as he scored at least one last season) is crazy

I wasn’t impressed when we appointed him (no different now) but no one decent wanted the job! We wanted potter, he didn’t want it so we probably gave it to the only person applying that had recently escaped relegation. Selling our best player and not having a lot to spend wasnt going to attract any decent manager or players by the looks of it

And we turned down £17m from Monaco for him the pre season before we got relegated, unbelievable

Thought he was really good, only impressive player really in the first half could see he had something about him.

Have been so pessimistic after the summer transfer dealings / performances however the second half gave real confidence in the effort and some good quality in the second half

Is he better defending ala Albrighton as that surely can be the only reason he’s ahead of mavididi

That currently sounds better than giving it to the midfielders we do have and hoping they create anything to be honest

That team should never have been relegated cos it had barnes and Maddison in it scoring goals all the players that performed from that season have gone

I’m very worried because: we still haven’t signed a striker so left with the same ones we had when relegated we still haven’t signed a midfielder to replace our best player todays team is the same defence that was absolutely useless when we got relegated (less ward) Never mind the points deduction coming things ain’t looking great right now

Probably been said already but the great escape run started as soon as he came in the side (with change in formation) it was no coincidence - if he doesn’t play those games we probably get relegated. Obviously things went from strength to strength over the next few years he was so good - and free!!

Amazing that he’s signed again and will be devastated when he finally doesn’t sign another one. I would think his contract has at least been halved at his age though

Problem was we would have been negotiating contracts the season we were last in the prem but as we were so shit and didn’t know what league we were gonna be in they couldn’t negotiate with anyone and so another 2 years off everyone’s contracts has led to this

You think Rudkin and co do any kind of budgeting?
