  1. The process everyone mentions is the process of our players steadily learning how to play the system Enzo brought in. Maresca said a month ago that, at that point, we were only about 20% there in terms of how he wanted us to be able to play. This passing out the back stuff isn't something you manage to get down within a week or two, it needs time. And as evidenced time and time again in our recent games, it works - even if you don't actually understand it because you're too busy whinging about why we didn't pump it long. Now, as you have so vehemently pointed out, mistakes still happen - and those very mistakes are the ones we're trying to stamp out by improving the way we play and the only way we can improve the way we play is by keeping on playing it. You don't get better at playing the piano by stopping to practise and instead switching to cleaning the bathroom. Our players will become more aware and will (should) be able to play around any deviations from the norm that might occur, such as the opponent marking our defenders, the opponent going man to man and whatnot. It's essential the keeper pass it to our defenders because in theory that lets us build and sustain attacks compared to pumping it up the pitch which is a gamble as to whether we can win the first and second ball and whether there are players in the right place to play it to, to advance play. But clearly 24 points out of 27 is not good enough and a sign Enzo has gotten his tactics woefully wrong. "Getting away with it" and winning one game is a fluke, winning 8 out of 9 isn't.
  2. classic example of someone who will never be satisfied with what they see on the pitch
  3. Can't wait for everyone to pile onto Mads with criticism while immediately questioning our tactics This is what we knew was going to happen eventually, it's a process
  4. Mate, he's got the worst job of everyone on the pitch. He needs to receive the ball, hold it and lay it off all while being dragged and pulled at by two 6'5 CBs
  5. someone get our away contingent to sing the national anthem
  6. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/09/26/aston-villa-player-complain-sweaty-castore-kit-performance/ stay away from Castore
  7. When did we start twisting the narrative around Kristiansen? He was the first player to come out after last season and say that he wants to stay and help us fight our way back to the prem. None of the other players in our squad did that. He's 19 years old, he was going to be 3rd choice behind Doyle and JJ, that's not nearly enough minutes for him at that stage of his career. So can we please stop acting like it's Kristiansen who's done us wrong here
  8. Obviously not unheard of but couldnt find a better thread
  9. I wonder whether we could have stayed up had we had him instead of Tielemans last season. Just the sheer lack of athleticism by Youri had us scrambling at times because he couldn't shake defenders, meanwhile we see Winks beating others for pace, smart little turns etc
  10. Was sailing the high seas yesterday watching an ESPN stream and my word did he do my head in. Literally all game Mads is completely in control and composed at the back, making getting around Norwich's press look like childs play but the one time Mads didn't find one of our players and it lead to that Mclean chance he was ripping into him how one could be so careless with the ball and invite pressure on yourself. Not only that but when we were 1-0 up passing it round the back he kept banging on about how we're at risk of not winning the game if we keep on doing that. A 5 yr old could tell you that you're much less likely to lose a game of football by keeping the ball when you're already up a goal. Such a dinosaur understanding of football.
  11. Ipswich are the better team The longer Soton keep hold of Martin, the better
  12. Soton going for the double relegation. Tractor boys all over them
  13. Magic man tell us more
  14. Sums up the redshite's luck doesn't it. Look crap for 90% of the game, score a random banger and run away with points. I said after last season they won't be able to keep this up...
  15. THB, Tella and Maatsen are the only real big "misses" They've recruited plenty in the summer though
  16. Make it make sense, these lot got over 100 points in the championship last season and now can't string together 2 passes against Forest
  17. Is it just me or do Burnley look incredibly average? I get there's a difference in quality between the prem and the championship but surely it can't be that big
  18. Chilwell getting the love of his fans
  19. Fella thinks they've got the best squad in the league
