  1. Jakub is coming back from an ankle injury thats taken about 6 months to recover from. I think it's a pretty fair assumption that being in the warm up today was part of the (hopefully final part!) recovery process but he's not completely ready yet. Remember this is a young guy who has never played PL football before. Right now there isn't anything to suggest that Ruud rates Ward above Jakub. Judge that when both are completely fit. When we heard about Jakub's injury in the summer, this was the thing i was most worried about. Iversen is completely sidelined and we were always a injury or a suspension away from having to play Ward. He should have left the club a long time ago and we shouldn't be in this position. The fact we are isn't Ruud's fault.
  2. Surely fines are issued for disciplinary reasons? I am not aware of anything that happens for performing badly which is largely subjective and easy for any legal team to contest. I've not heard of this being a common measure.
  3. Jakub was in an U21's as part of his rehabilitation back to full fitness. Has it not occurred to you that maybe the conclusion from him and the staff is that he wasn't fully ready yet? He might still be a few weeks away from being ready. Being in the warm up doesn't mean he is being dropped. I fully expect Jakub to be no 2. Iversen we've spoken about a lot. He's not featured at this club at all since we were relegated. I think there is a behind the scenes reason for that.
  4. I've just watched the highlights. Dear god its worse than i remember at the game. First one he jumps over it, which is a trait of his we have seen time and time again. Coady should be stronger to it but most keepers deal with that and its pretty straightforward. 2nd my memory in the game was far, far kinder to him. I sit in H1, and had no idea what JJ was up to. But even so, Gomes control was appalling and Wards mistake actually guides the ball into the goal. He flaps with no authority. Classic Ward. Mads scoops that up and we don't even think much about the incident. 3rd is the hardest for him, but its a soft hand on it. Again, i think Mads deals with that comfortably. This is what happens when you go from having one of the best in league to by far and away the worst. All of the crap play aside (and Wolves were pretty shite in my opinion), we go into half time 0-0 with Mads.
  5. Do we? The performances were as bad with Iversen and we didn't stop shipping goals (remember that Fulham game when he was dross). Both Iversen and Ward can't perform at this level. Heck - we don't even know if Iversen is remotely match fit at the moment. It's not Ruud's fault that he has lost our no 1 and 2 keeper to injury. I agree that i would rather have seen Iversen playing today, but there must be a reason why he hasn't featured at all, even in the Carabou cup, so i am going to have to just say something is going on there and Ruud had just had to lump it. Ward should be nowhere near the squad again, and they need to get rid of Iversen. My big, big fear is that Mads gets sold in the January window.
  6. You think he's picked Ward ahead of Jakub and Mads?
  7. He bloody knows. Lets stop with all this. Hopefully Jakub is a very short way away from being match fit and Mads will be back after christmas. Ward will hopefully not have to feature on the team sheet again.
  8. He can't be anywhere near the pitch again. Even for a warm up or cup game. He mere presence drags the team and the fans down. His head can't cope with what's needed. If it takes paying the rest of his contract off for him to come nowhere near Seagrave or Filter way again then so be it - treat it like an investment. Had 2 grown men nearly fighting over how shit he is today. Its almost like Ward is pure evil.
  9. Mavididi changes the game against Brighton. He has it in him.
  10. This is sarcasm right?
  11. So you are seriously saying that after 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat, we should start the process of getting him out?
  12. So does Mads. But the way Mads plays means at times we operate with another defender. Its why bringing Ward on was more calamitous than just his performance in the goal. If Mads is out, they need to be planning now how the defence operate different to accommodate a different keeper.
  13. When?
  14. I would rather we were playing Iversen (assuming Jakub isn't ready yet). Hes a better shot stopper, but that comes with a huge risk with how we play. Iversen offers nothing defensively. Ward offers something, but at the expense of being calamitous in goal. I would hope that 9am this morning was one of the highest priority meetings at Seagrave to work this out. There might not any solution that makes any of us happy in the short term if Mads injury keeps him out for a while.
  15. Think Southampton are too!
  16. There maybe reasons why Iversen won't play. He is clearly a better keeper than Ward but it seems obvious something has happened there. As much as we want to believe there is a magic solution in the U21's, if someone isn't ready yet then it could be completely detrimental to their development. I don't know, but i don't think its right to say the solution sits there. Have to pray Mads is fine or Jakub is ready following injury. But even with Jakub, there is no match fitness there. Its a risk.
  17. It depends if we can play anyone else.
  18. Disagree. We had more 'big chances' and my overriding memory is West Ham shooting from anywhere. Mads did make a few fine saves, but so did Fabiański. I dont think they deserved to win the game. We did get Brighton down to a more reasonable amount of shots.
  19. We know he's not good enough. That's why he's 3rd choice and barely plays. But what 3rd choice are we likely to get that's going to go toe to toe with Newcastle? He's had no game time this season, so i really don't know what anyone expected.
  20. The obsession with Enxo getting sacked by Christmas regardless of where he was, was kinda weird.
  21. Chelsea really are mounting a title challenge. We had such a good coach with Maresca.
  22. They would have trained with both and been far more comfortable with what Mads offers them as the extra defender. They would all know the difference in the abilities of both keepers.
  23. The were terrible towards the end of last season. I thought they were going to struggle this season but started pretty well, but seem to have hit a bit of a wall. I thought they were pretty average against us despite going 2 up. They definitely not worth all the hype.
  24. I think we were always losing that game, but with Mads its not 4-0. We ended the 1st half positive, if a little limp up top, but the change knocked the stuffing out of us. I think we may have had a goal in us but lost 3-1? I don't think we can forget how good Mads is not just as a shot stopper, but that extra man in defence. Ward is neither, and the goal posts seem to grow around him. It was like losing 1.5 players.
  25. I really don't know. We sit in H1 and always watch warm ups and my son (a GK) always points out how sharp Iversen looks. I can only presume that something behind the scenes has gone on (maybe he's guaranteed a move in Jan and simply cant be risked?). Shite with his pins, but a great GK.
