Do we think the Man City downturn in form is similar to when it clearly leaked out within the club last season that Leicester were due a massive points deduction when promoted? Leicester had a very similar downturn in form in around when that news broke, with a demoralised looking squad, so maybe Man City have been tipped off they are in for the mother of all points deductions / or relegation? would be great if so, as Leicester certainly wont finish beneath Saints and Ipswich...

wow that's harsh. i don't think any goalie has performed better than him in the premier league this year. the wood goal was 40% Okolis fault (leaving it to Faes), 50% Faes' fault for staring open mouthed at the ball for 10 seconds in stead of going toward it and maybe 10% Hermansen's for trusting that his two centre halves weren't terrible. Not a mistake he will be making again! I was down near the front on Tuesday. Hermansen is not small for a goalie so i don't think he needs to bulk up much, but will naturally as he gets older. I stand by the assessment. I don't see a better goalie in the prem and very arguably anywhere in the top 5 leagues. Good debate to be having though, and kudos to the management for signing him.

The xG stat is MENTAL. We had 3 full 1 on 1's (Vardy, Daka, McAteer), Ndidi had a free point blank header saved from 4 yards from that El K cross AND we scored 3 goals - but yeah an xG of 1.37 sounds right....

On another day we'd have been 3-1 down. Don't get me wrong i think we played well at times first half, and looked more purposeful in our play and on the ball. But West Ham had several super presentable chances to score from quite close in, so it's not like we delivered a really dominant performance. Mads made 3 or 4 absolutely top drawer saves and a couple of others whistled past the post. Quite how our xG was so low i have no idea. Vardy, McAteer and Ndidi had gilt edged chances aside from the goal, and but for Buonanotte being a foot offside we would have had a 4th. Play wise - i think the fluidity of Buonanotte, El Khannous and McAteer last night was strong - their confidence will grow. Mavididi needs to take his lead from them and we will have 4 players that can really challenge each other to play behind the striker. Ndidi and Soumare have more physicality than any other CDM partnership we have and can progress the ball better. My only worry being that they really can't dictate the tempo of a game, and are prone to more **** ups in possession than is healthy for deep lying midfielders - so we may need something in January to improve us there. For now though. They seem to work in RVN's more pressing led system. I had real worries about Coady and Vest yesterday, but in a tight 4 with two quicker CDM's in front of them it was a good defensive performance. I think Okoli could play in that set up aswell, and maybe in the right games Faes could move out right, which takes him away from the goal aswell which is nice. Vardy appears reborn in the key games. If he stays fit i can see him getting 15 goals this year. It's good to have Daka back for December, but if he's the longer term solution post Jan then we are in a bit of trouble. Loved RVN anticipating the flow of the game, subs on 58 and 68 rather than 65 and 78. It just hit differently and provokes the game rather than reacts to it. Hermansen is, in my opinion, already the best goalie in the world. He comes for the ball, he is an unbelievable shot stopper and can play the ball short and long aswell as a midfielder. I hope we get £80m for him when he goes.

We need two good centre halfs (Faes, Vestegaard and Coady are NOT GOOD ENOUGH by any measure across multiple years in the prem), two good full backs (Justin, Ricardo and Kristiansen consistently **** up and allow crosses and shots from wide which are killing us) , a holding midfielder (winks, ndidi, soumare and skipp have neither the positional sense or recovery pace to protect the back four consistently or effectively - we are currently more open than a hippies relationship and easier to get at than a 7ft ginger sat in the front row of a comedy gig). We also need a striker as we only have 1 x 37 yo one worth their salt. No less than 6 players needed MINIMUM in order for us to finish on more than 25 points this season. Also if we could get a manager and not the delivery driver for Swansea Jacamo orders that would be great.
