  1. They'll sack him about 6 weeks too late and then replace him after 3-4 weeks with someone with different massive weaknesses and whose style renders a decent chunk of the squad unusable. There doesn't seem to be enough humility or common sense in the club hierarchy to realise that if they keep making the same mistakes they will continue to take us down the leagues. In reality, until Top goes, nothing changes. We need a pragmatic new owner and we need them quickly.
  2. Really poor game management there. Whitely really is a big drop down at 9.
  3. Sad to hear that Matt Bloomfield has seemingly suffered quite a serious head injury.
  4. I wouldn't give him the time of day either if I was them - the man seems a complete clown.
  5. I agree. I think the difficulty is that capital is so mobile nowadays - it completely erodes the ability of states to do exercise proper control given that there will always be somewhere willing to be the low/no tax outlier.
  6. The assets in trust were worth £192mn in 2024 - there's a fair point to be made about taxes lost via the use of offshore trusts but this firm of solicitors kicking around an £82bn figure based on what it might be worth in 110 years or so feels quite a weird move.
  7. Weird signing. He seems to pull off some good instinctive saves (against Plymouth too) but at the cost of a few massive mistakes each match and is obviously uncomfortable using his feet the way RM dictates he must. Makes the whole 'he had Premier League offers' story quite difficult to believe.
  8. Not averse to it happening, though I'm not sure it will any time soon. I just thought it's very funny he's saying this given the bootlicking approach of Ian Paisley Jr and his fellow travellers to MAGA over the years.
  9. True, true. Can't believe we're not even halfway through his second term
  10. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/trump-says-he-would-love-see-united-ireland-2026-09-12/ This is extremely funny behaviour from him to be fair.
  11. I mean, he's a legend from his playing days, but I'm not sure there's much evidence King is bringing loads to the table as a coach is there? There are plenty of sticks to justifiably beat Martin with, I'm not sure allegedly failing to respect Andy King's coaching skills is the one.
  12. The length of that tie is a massive warning sign also imo
  13. I mean, if we're looking for continuity in terms of having an owner who gives horrendous interviews Neil might be our fella.
  14. Maybe. But isn't the trick to be like Stavely and have the connections already and then build a panel behind the scenes. Who is looking at this lad thinking he seems like the one to put a load of cash behind?
  15. I reckon the price is going to be determined by the very small number people willing to fund the ongoing operating costs of an incredibly badly run League One club, not because a two time winner of the man of the decade 2025 (we'll leave aside why a man of the decade prize seems to be awarded annually) tells the Sun it's priced wrongly. I hope the club is sold but I wish the media would exercise a bit more judgement and stop giving obvious time wasters air time.
  16. I'm pretty sure even the most publicity shy billionaires wouldn't opt for the 'negotiation via an utterly implausible front man giving interviews to talksport' strategy
  17. He's an absolute fantasist.
  18. Easy now. That's a two time winner of 'Man of the Decade 2025' so put a little respect on his name please.
  19. In which case that's definitely replacement cost value. It bears no relation to to what the properties are worth in any sensible way - Citi/the owners just wanted to some big numbers in there to anchor bids high as they go whale hunting. I don't think it will work.
  20. If it's from the accounts I think that's a replacement cost basis rather than market value? The realisable value (of Seagrave in particular) must be a fraction of what it would cost to rebuild and you'd have to be a hall of fame thick billionaire to consider parting with anything close to 200mn to buy the current bin fire of LE2.
  21. He's 77 years old, last worked in a full time capacity as a manager 3 years ago, would want to commute from Cornwall and last led a club to promotion 9 seasons back. 15 years ago perhaps worth a call but unless you're firing up a time machine at the same time you are hiring him it would be an absolutely insane move.
  22. The last 3 years suggest that the ownership don't place any value on acting quickly, even when it's massively to their own detriment to delay big decisions.
  23. Has he ever said he'd fancy management? Doesn't strike me as something that would play to any of his strengths. Fair play to him if he's getting 45k a week - I fear it might be a struggle looking at Burnley so far, but hope he can go out with a decent season rather than a well paid but underwhelming fade to black.
  24. RIP the club's social media follower numbers
  25. Exactly - have always had to stress when recommending it to friends that on paper it sounds awful, but is so worth giving it a watch. It's a completely different type of show, but thought Lovesick was similar - given how bad the ideas sound you wonder how they got the green light but very glad they did
