I’m saying that he was part of the problem. You cannot absolve King from the second half performance. The players are spineless dossers but they weren’t helped by the changes. If VK is fit enough to make the bench, then him coming on to shore up the left hand side was what the game was calling out for.

Kingy is far from our biggest problem BUT an experienced and pro-active manager does not throw that lead away. He might have not said to be so passive in the second half but his subs and changes gave all the momentum to Southampton.

Sorry but this post highlights the bizarre “exemption from blame” that certain players get on here. If Thomas made the same lazy mistake for Birmingham’s first goal, there would be pitch forks out for him. Re-watch the goal back, whilst he isn’t helped out by the lack of movement, a player of Ricky P’s standards shouldn’t be having his pockets picked like that. If there is nothing on, just hit a first time diagonal….the passing lane wasn’t blocked for that.

I know that we have all loved Ricky P. BUT this thread not being commented on since the 24th January is criminal. If Thomas makes such an obvious mistake, his thread would have had an additional 5 pages by now. I can’t say that I agree with this. He was bombed out of their squad in pre-season. Southampton fans are genuinely pissing themselves at someone taking him off their hands.

That isn’t something that we should be excited about. 32 year olds without injury issues, are typically on the decline from a physical perspective, that’s not even taking into account his recent injuries. When a player has relied on their pace/athleticism, it makes me very nervous how they adapt in their latter years.

100% this. Yet, oddly both on here and at the KP, Ayew genuinely appears to have a fan club. So many of us were fuming when the rumour first came out.

It’s such a boys club isn’t it? I’ve played for more professional Sunday league teams. Kingy said about the stats re: sprints/distance covered etc, yet serves up the same. Surely, you look at the options and think, “who’s the fittest?” With that in mind, Aluko HAS to get the nod….even if meant Ricky P, played inverted at LB!
