Catching up with Matt Heath’s post match analysis on WYS. He was very positive about Ayew. I normally like Heath but what’s he on about. Ayew is a hideous player with zero redeeming qualities.

Mukasa’s first touch and play has been sloppier than most of what Page did earlier in the season. Got to feel for Page not getting minutes right now.

I’m saying that he was part of the problem. You cannot absolve King from the second half performance. The players are spineless dossers but they weren’t helped by the changes. If VK is fit enough to make the bench, then him coming on to shore up the left hand side was what the game was calling out for.

Am I starting to dislike Ayew more than Faes? Such a strange feeling, having such a disdain for such a large % of your squad.

Keeping Thomas on the pitch when 1) out of his depth and 2) clearly blowing are down to Kingy.

Kingy is far from our biggest problem BUT an experienced and pro-active manager does not throw that lead away. He might have not said to be so passive in the second half but his subs and changes gave all the momentum to Southampton.

Does anyone even bother with the “we don’t know what he does” rhetoric in his defence anymore?

This is what a friend who is a ST holder at St Mary’s said to describe their performance on Saturday - “We were dreadful on Saturday but have started picking up clean sheets, and it helps that we’ve gone back to basics and been playing 442 recently.” Depressing how it wasn’t long ago, that Southampton were marooned at the bottom half of the table but they’ve easily leapfrogged us in the league.
