Waiting for the comments re: “Ayew has been great” when he drops deeper later in the game. Ayew cannot lead the line it’s depressing and invites more pressure than anything else.
-
Soumare must be incredible in training

If signed a long term deal on average Championship wages = not too bad If the board are arrogant enough to think we’re still a PL club “on tour” and on previous wages = moronic decision.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

Spot on. We’re all guilty of doing it, but we often forget that footballers are humans, albeit overpaid ones. That means they will make mistakes, Winks didn’t win over many fans but seeing Bouba and Skipp get dominated once again on Saturday surely is a reason to start integrating Winks back into the first eleven. -
Skipp is less of a risk than Bouba at CM. Neither are my type of footballers but Skipp ran his socks off in the second half and if we went for a robust 3 of Winks, Skipp and James. Skipp in that midfield is less of a liability than the lump that is Bouba.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
SafewayFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Some of the comments on Ayew seem OTT in both praise and disdain. It really is simple for me. Ayew as our number 9 stinks - he doesn’t/can’t lead the line so drops to deep and offers hardly anything. When Marti is “forced” to go 2 up top, he links up play, still holds onto the ball looking for fouls too much but puts in a great and creative outlet. Stop playing Ayew as the 9 and you’ll see less derisory aimed at Jordan. -
I’m not at Strider’s level of tactical nous but can highlight one moment that summed up our wingers right now under Marti. In the first half (before the red card), Abdul recycled the ball to Hamza and after Hamza played a pretty lazy and simple ball back to Abdul….Hamza just stood still and waited. No under/overlap or any attempt to give their FB a problem to think about. Abdul then ran the ball out of play for a GK.

Aaron Ramsey joins on loan - Official

Moronic decision to go to ground so easily. Not going to write him off yet but was pretty anonymous before his red card against an Oxford side in 22nd and there for the taking. I can see him getting minutes but think JJ will be the more impressive of the two loanees. -
This 100%. Yet this thread remains relatively quiet and Skipp gets 5x as much abuse. Bouba has hopefully played himself out of any upcoming starting 11’s.
-
Yet, I’d still rather see him start than Soumare.
-
I’ve liked JJ’s cameo!
-
Ayew in the first half = isolated and drops too deep. Ayew in the second half = playing up top with someone else and looks better. Wake up Marti, Ayew hasn’t played well when leading the line on his own.
-
Okoli has given the ball away twice (not under pressure), within the first three minutes of this half 🤮
-
Not a red BUT such a moronic and unnecessary tackle. Don’t give the referee a decision to make. Anonymous and dumb debut.
-
The CM pairing of Skipp and Soumare leaves us so open. Ramsay is often in no man’s land but can’t actually work out where he is supposed to play, as roaming a lot more than I’d like. Skipp is way too advanced more often than not but offering absolutely nothing.
-
Watch Jannik when Phillips shoots, he isn’t alert in the slightest. Sunday league stuff. Not defending Okoli, I don’t see what people like about him, for a giant he is so weak in the air.
-
Jannik completely switches off 🤬 Jakub had biscuits for wrists.
-
Can we be any sloppier with the ball?

The cream always rises to the top 👀 -
Which is quite comical, when see how much he appears to blow at various stages.

I just can’t shake what I witnessed when Reid played for us last season. Just because we’re playing in the second tier doesn’t mean that he has now worked out at 32 how to trap or kick a ball further than 5 yards. -
I expected Ipswich to win tonight but this is a confidence builder. Hopefully a much trickier fixture away at Ewood Park reminds them that they’re a bit average.
-
I said exactly the same thing to a couple of mates the other day. How much did they pay for the Bellingham’s?
-
Wow. If that is true, it will be very interesting to see their wages vs revenue when announced next. You can blame PSR for killing the competitiveness of the league but players wages and clubs being stuck with average and overpaid players, is a genuine issue for English football IMO.
-
Spot on. You could also add the MGW saga and them likely paying him over the odds.
