  1. But loads of people defend the leadership that has overseen our demise. I can’t say I care about Cooper staying or going but he was and always go down as the cheap option won’t he?
  2. My biggest frustration is how you could argue we attracted better players last summer? Ayew signing sums up the state of our club from top to bottom right now IMO.
  3. McKenna was linked heavily with Brighton, United and Chelsea. Was Cooper at all? That is quite telling.
  4. So those happy with Ayew aren’t concerned of another player on a long term contract that will likely run out a couple of months before his 36th birthday? Also, can the Shinji comparisons stop as he came at 29 and when his physicality started waning he was quickly found wanting. We have pending PSR charges and another signing that will NOT add to our squad’s resale value should be considered for any permanent signings IMO.
  5. So the bell strikes at 00:01 on deadline day and those players that you admit that we need don’t join (history suggests that could be very likely) or we have more 3/4th targets join which Ayew IMO is…then you’d be happy with our transfer window?? Again considering the head start we had on other clubs.
  6. Same question that I asked the OP Micky, does your sentiment also work if he turns out another aging flop that were lumbered with for 3 years? I think the meltdown that you reference is down to the fact that we’ve had since April to identify targets and our desperation appears that our scouting/DoF’s hopes rely on a nearly 33 year old who won’t add what we desperately need…..goals.
  7. Does this work the other way round too?
  8. I’ll have whatever you’re smoking son. He’s 33 in less than 3 weeks - him having 25 goals/assists (which he’s not managed in the past 3 seasons combined) is about as likely as Rudkin coming out and talking to the fans.
  9. How anyone can disagree with any of that is beyond me. I’ve said it countless times but our disregard to PSR when our lack of compliance is a “big reason it’s putting good players off” is negligence and incompetence but yet some on here still defend Rudkin, blows my mind.
  10. Are we sleepwalking into more PSR issues or is that just me thinking that? Also, on a side note - why do some posters on here (the ones who seem to rate this odd transfer) seem to end up resorting to bizarre insults? A genuine observation.
  11. To be fair they’re the most reasonable reasons that we’re so heavily linked with him. BUT and my only critique is that doesn’t seem to have any counter arguments such as his physical ability to run/get us up the pitch will vastly diminish at his age. Nor does it acknowledge that we have lots of PL experience and the scary reality that our squad must be at all an time low for value/re-sale which means future PSR breaches will happen due to our lack of ability at shifting our squad players.
  12. Ayew’s D.O.B 11/9/1991 Albrighton’s D.O.B 18/11/1989 👀
  13. I get what you’re saying mate but we’re just terrible at negotiating. We appear to over pay on fees and wages but then have an unrealistic value for our players. Turning down money for Iversen last summer for him to then rot before a January loan is a prime example of this.
  14. Albrighton is well thought of by us but doesn’t mean you’d be signing him.
  15. This type of signing is so unimaginative it almost highlights how poorly we’ve been run as a club for all to see. Whittaker, Rowe, Asprilla - whoever but a young, hungry player in the Championship (means not worrying about them being homesick etc) with a higher ceiling than a 33 year old Ayew surely isn’t asking for too much. We already have Vardy, Reid, Vesty, Ricky P, Ndidi, Winks (probably more too) with years of PL experience so cannot get on board with our sudden need for PL experience.
  16. So change tact. Raid the Championship and throw our weight around - I don’t know similar to the likes of Bowen, Eze and Olise who all have been much better players in the PL than Ayew but weren’t from the “top end” that you reference.
  17. What grates me, if Enzo stayed and he influenced change above….would Ayew’s name even be muttered for 5hits and giggles?
  18. You do realise that at 33 he will offer less and less of everything you just said. There is a reason that all well run clubs offer very short (confidently say 12 months average) contract extensions to players when hit 30, it’s only a matter of time when their bodies just can’t do what they used too. Plus you have had this knack to considerably inflate Ayew’s ability ever since his name has been linked.
  19. How does he improve our squad? He certainly doesn’t improve our starting 11 and it was clear to see that is needed on Monday. We lack quality and filling it with a striker/winger that has scored 37 goals, 25 assists from 275 PL appearances and turns 33 in a couple of months will be a drain on our resources more than anything else. I despise our board/top level management so much.
  20. You’re forgetting Ayew 👀
  21. JJ at LB is a myth to me. He looks so uncomfortable there, got caught under the ball and broke down any quick break as wanted to always get the ball onto his right foot.
  22. Starting to think some people on here are either Rudkin or family members. Stephy was quality when he came on and I know that I’d rather add another in someone like Asprilla than a nearly 33 year old Ayew. Our squads value must be the lowest it’s been under the KP/PL era and adding aging squad players won’t help with that.
  23. Highlights the lack of quality in our starting 11 for me. Experienced squad filler? Ok But teams would double up on Fatawu if him and Reid start as our wingers.
  24. He definitely grew in the game. I thought Winks played better tonight than he did a large chunk of the latter stages of last season.
  25. Albrighton is either on the take or it’s a private joke. He is a professional footballer playing 20 minutes yet his application has to be one of the worst that I’ve seen. Not commenting on his technical ability, it’s his work rate (lack there of) that is inexcusable for me.
