Cooper was a proven promotion manager. And he was gash.
-
While on the face of it you're correct that they seem worlds apart, there's no harm speaking to varying managers about the job and how they would operate. They might learn something.
-
Everyone is a risk. But do you think it's better to take a risk on someone who is at the beginning of their career, presumably on an upward trajectory, risking if they can step up a level. Or risk a Dyche or even a Wilder, who have experienced promotion before, but are now still available at a level below where they've been previously operating, pointing to them either having reached their peak and plateauing around upper Championship level or are they at the lowest ebb of where they should be operating and they get back to where they once were, despite it being relatively fleeting?
-
Maybe they don't pay as much. And maybe they don't represent as good an opportunity. And maybe they don't want him?
-
What Rohl achieved when he took over at Wednesday would be similar to Juric keeping Saints up this past season. When he took over, they were having the worst start to a Championship season on record. They hadn't won a game and were on 3 points. To go with all the shit going on behind the scenes, he's not done too badly.
-
Nah. Wednesday are going through turmoil and I'm not sure even as a lifelong fan you'd want to be associated with that period in the clubs history. Unless of course he was able to single handedly keep them in the division. There's a few scenarios where it's fairytale stuff, there's far more that are the stuff of nightmares.

Apparently Monaco are interested in Onana... So could be looking for a new number 1.
-
New signing?
-
As it stands he's 3rd choice. No real issue with that as long as he's on a 3rd choice wage.
-
If they offer Wilson another year that should be a goer. He wants gametime.
-
Then what the fxxk is the question?
-
No that era was the early 90's.
-
DCL has had one purple patch in his entire career and spent more time injured than on the pitch contributing. Wilson on the other hand has a very respectable record when fit. Trouble is he rarely is. If he did stay fit Newcastle wouldn't be letting him run down his contract for nowt. I know he's done an interview recently about not being the main man and that he's been available but Isak is on fire, but there's no way he can be relied on for anything. In the last couple of seasons he's been injured for half the games. And it's always different injuries. There's talks about Newcastle potentially offering WIlson an extension. You'd have to assume if that were the case and not just spurious rumours then that means they're happy with his fitnesslevels. And as I say if he's actually over that, then he's not coming here.

Stephy Mavididi (no real rumour, some clubs "interested.")
JimJams replied to Tuna's topic in Transfer Talk
He did play him in preseason, he was trying to get him to drop infield as a second striker. With Vardy injured it was thought he was going to play Mav up top. -
I'd love Bielsa but he's not giving up the Uruguay gig. When the wheels came off at Leeds they well and truly came off though.
-
Is he dying?
-
Don't get the love* for Coady. Hes shit and has been since before he got here. At least the Danish lamppost had 1 good season for us. Get em all out if possible. *love is probably too strong. What's the opposite of utter disdain?

BRING BUO BACK!

Better than what we have at what though? We haven't seen Gilchrist at CB at senior level, so there's no telling if he's better than what we have there, baring in mind Souttar was CB for the same side and was their best defender (player) prior to injury last season. At RB, he's not better than what we have. A lot of Blades fans preferred Seriki to Gilchrist at RB. Blades fans also don't seem to share your opinion on his ceiling. In terms of a back 3 I guess we'll need to wait and see on a manager for that. I don't mind the idea of him as a CB for us, a young depth option. At RB he's too one dimensional really. Again of course, if a manager wants an RB to be solid but unspectacular, Danny Simpson mkII then you never know.
-
Isn't he just Evertons version of Golding? In terms of the deal that took him to Everton from Villa.
-
Amoura at Wolfsburg is a good example. Loaned from Union SG for about €3m, with a €15m option. He smashed it, signed up, he's now worth way more. Would have loved him here, but well out of our price range/league now.
-
As what though? Cos his loan last season he was pretty much a rightback, and as well as not really needing any more fullbacks, he never really impressed at RB. He could be good for CB, which I guess is your suggestion as you say a Coady replacement, but it seems odd that Wilder used him at RB instead of CB, especially when they were desperate to get a CB once Souttar got injured. They then brought in Holding for the role. He's only played CB at youth levels. At senior level he's been almost exclusively an RB.
-
After following the Blades fan forums while we had players there on loan all season, I don't think I'd really want Wilder. But then, forum users do talk endless bollocks don't they?
-
Anybody worth having will almost certainly see us as a stepping stone. No manager should be coming to us in the championship thinking this will be the pinnacle of their career.
