Homegrown doesn't mean anything from an accounting perspective as far as I'm aware. It's all about fees paid. Obviously homegrown players have no fee attached to them. If he comes for a fee, it'll stay with him, same as any other purchase.

I don't think it matters that they're similar players. As you say, get them out on loan. If they're both successful we have an excellent dilemma on our hands (ultimately depending on which division we find ourselves in after the loans) and hopefully have a couple of Omari Hutchinsons on our hands in terms of where they're at.

Well that depends how you view his value. Do you believe he's a £40mill player or do you want £40mill because a few other clubs are cheating the system? Without these shithouse deals going around I wouldn't think it was a bad deal really. And when you isolate a single fee involved in these workarounds then it does look insane. But when there's an insane sale value going the other way it balances that out. In a dodgy deal Chelsea could have offered us £60mill but wanted us to buy Golding for half that. Then people paying £60mill for a player actually worth that amount will be saying "Hang on, Dewsbury-Hall went for that!"... Ad infinitum.

Yes but with Chelsea having already sorted themselves out for PSR this season, it seems that this is a legitimate straight purchase, not a cheat on the accounts.

At present he's the only player that's played under the manager*. So he knows his philosophy, style and the responsibilities of the position. So if the other, more expensive options at Chelsea are thick as shit and can't grasp it, then he may well have a chance from the off. *Edit: Forgot about Casadei too. And maybe Palmer at Man City? But one's shite and the others a different position...

You self-righteous bastard!
-
I thought he signed a load of ones that turned out to be shit? Like Bazunu.
-
Boehly and co don't really seem to have a clue to be fair.
-
Get Datro Fofana with a relegation clause like Villa had with Archer, but with us determining the option to sell, not mandatory on our part. That way if he's shit, they can have him back and we're not lumbered with him and the financial hit and if he's good we can decide to keep him.
-
When asked why they weren't interested Campos remarked "They said if he's not on Brighton's shopping list, they're not interested."
-
Tbf he's had a good season on loan at Feyenoord. 10 goals and 6 assists in 27 league games. It's probably the kind of fee you'd expect from the Eredivisie to the Prem. Similar to Maduekes best season for PSV and he went for around £30mill.

Yeah forgot Afcon 2025 is cos is starts December. BUT STILL!
-
Trouble with having him, Daka, Fatawu and possibly N'didi is come January, we're fxxked!
-
Well he's not, and he has 8 years on Gray. But yes we should get more. Perhaps we should speak to Brentford.
-
Is he good enough to build a team around?
-
Sell him to Newcastle for 25mill, Livramento to us 25mill. JD.
-
The Hull that went down with the worst defensive record in the league. I'd say it's very comparable.
-
If we're going to buy shit like Broja for £15mill because it helps Chelsea with FFP then they need to put up £55mill for KDH.
-
The Chukwu brothers. TO ME!
-
When we buy him it's -£3mill per year, so initially £3mill down then we sell him for £15mill. £12mill of that pays the remaining book value and you're left with £3mill over. Cancelling out the initial £3mill down. It's free.
-
He's implying he was a part of the clique that made him feel unwelcome because he was taking Thomas's place.
-
Should just get Gilchrist in. If they don't want to sell then be creative. Sign him for £15mill with a £15mill buyback clause and they can have him back in a year so we get a free loan and £15mill on the books next year.
