I'd rather keep Thomas than spend/trade Kasey for Targett, shit!
-
Surely there's a PSR deal to be done somewhere!
-
There's definitely a deal to be done in there. The question is, which two pizzas do you want?

If anybody sees one of their players linked to a Premier League club they just start rubbing their hands together.
-
Edouard has been shite for a Palace side that liked to attack.
-
I reckon they both must have, otherwise it'd be too difficult to play the game.
-
Well, he's young and British certainly.

Gesundheit!

@FoxOnWheels He's got to be a 10 surely?

(I thought) I was quite clearly making a point about players we were linked to for big money that we didn't sign, a situation that some are bemoaning that have not gone on to do anything since to justify their price tags yet people are bringing them up as though we've missed out when the evidence suggests we didn't. You've just reeled off 3 players we did sign, two of which wouldn't have been considered big money, who subsequently did well for us. I could retort with A.Silva, Slimani, Musa but similarly that's nothing to do with the point I made. Of course if you were just asking a straight question then they worked out well. Thanks for asking.

Gets a bit of European football to keep him in the frame for Denmark I suppose.

Nice to get him, not overly arsed if we don't. In this thread people have mentioned "missing out" on Trincao, Gonzalez, Madueke amongst others. And aside from us missing out, there's something else they all have in common. They've done fxxk all since we missed out. Certainly nothing that makes the reported fees at the time look in any way justified. Trincao being the worst. Looked good in Portugal, crap in Spain, crap in England and oh look, he looks decent in Portugal again. Madueke doing so well they tried to replace him with Olise almost immediately after his arrival. Gonzalez has decent stats again but he likes an injury layoff. It could all have been different had they signed for us but as it stands they're generally looking like bullets dodged for the fees bandied about at the time. All similar to this supposed fee. It would be nice to steal in ahead of a club like Roma though too.

They can always loan him!

Disagree with this. Like you say Faes and Okoli are too bombscare (though that may be unfair on the new lad before he's kicked a ball) and the other two you mention are not particularly any faster than Vestegaard and were both kept out by the Dane last season and rightfully so. In addition to the fact he's miles better on the ball than the others, his biggest and often cited weakness is his pace and yet everyone also keeps stating that we'll not play a high line and we'll be sitting back. Which in turn makes lack of pace far less of an issue. The arguments used against Vesty are often followed with reasoning about the defensive line that mitigate the initial argument. But if Cooper agrees, so be it. As you say it's not Enzos system anymore, though if Cooper has any sense he'll at least try and piece together some of the things that did work for us last season. After all, he's taken over a functioning side, albeit after having lost a few players. It's not like taking over a side in disarray in terms of the way they play. He can tweak things, adjust and put his stamp on the side, but it doesn't need a complete overhaul.
-
Agree with it except Vesty should start. Assuming Okoli is, as he says, fast. Then Vestys ability on the ball will be needed. Be good to see him advance the ball a bit, Wilf can drop in.

Why? As far as I'm aware "matching rights" means they can match the best offer and get first refusal. With the sell on essentially waived Hull will still receive whatever their best offer was from other parties.
-
I don't put much stock into Transfermarkt player values, but according to them we just sign a 16mill player for nowt.

Buying back to sell him on or use him?

The "so what" is just to point out that there's no real relevance of the talent of players who have frequented the same league. It's got no baring on who the better player is out of O'Riley and O'Hare. Which I'd imagine is your point somewhat, but if it is then bringing up past players in the division is moot. We can name top draw players from anywhere, it doesn't aid the comparison. When bringing their respective divisions into it, you can make a case for which you think is stronger, and why that might make one player superior but reeling off some former decent players doesn't really do that.

Ok, but Vardy played in the Championship, so did Maddison, so did Mahrez, etc etc.

So how do we feel about the Scottish Championship?
