  1. I would say ‘Ewan is a Welshman’ is a more recognisable version of the song than anything the mackems ever sang?
  2. This is what infuriates me more than anything, the absolute bias that exists when playing at old Trafford. So obvious yet no pundit or commentator ever comments on it
  3. I’m a definite give copper a chance and really think the hate for him is well over the top, but that second half was a difficult watch. Why we shrink back into our shell after more than matching teams could end up being what does us. Because the fight he has instilled into the players is obvious for anyone who is watching, barring the fans who had decided he needs the sack after two games in. A fight that has been largely lacking, in my opinion, under the tenure of our last few managers
  4. Appreciate the reply to my post Rik. If I’m honest I’m not a massive stat man. I couldn’t tell you much about anything that goes on in leagues outside of England, managers or players, judging by your posts you have knowledge of what might be available and maybe there is better out there. I can only give an opinion on what I see from how we’re playing under cooper and I like it. We haven’t been amazing but we’ve been a lot better than I thought we would be. Similar to yourself I’m not totally obsessed with getting wins, last year I saw us win a lot of games, some of them very uninspiring due to our style of play. The loss against villa and the draw against palace I saw a team of players motivated and giving it a real go, surely the manager deserves some credit for this? To me that’s inspiring and I’m excited about what this season may now bring rather than initially thinking it would be a car crash. I, like you am in no way desperate to stay in the premier league. In fact I think I may despise what it has become. It’s ceased being a credible league that rewards sporting endeavour and is now a money making machine that may well be close to completely orchestrated. But that’s why I feel we’re a little bit like we were under O’Neil. We’re the fly in the ointment, here to f@@k up the party and I would just love to keep pissing them off
  5. This is exactly what I was thinking as listening to the latest big strong Leicester boys pod. For years reading this forum Rik flair has in my opinion posted the most sense and has been very entertaining at the same time, but on this occasion seems to have lost the plot. I understand lots of fans didn’t want cooper in the first place and I believe their bias is clouding their judgment. Because asking for him to get sacked after 4 games, (the 3 I’ve watched we have been more than competitive in apart from the first half v spurs) seems totally irrational, as it transpired that night calling for O’Neil to go also was. I don’t understand what people want, do we think we should be competing for European football? This team and manager is the closest thing to watching O’Neils teams of the past. I’m exhilarated watching our games now. Rik pretty much admitted to that in the latest pod but still then repeated about getting rid ASAP. Don’t get it
  6. Exactly this👍🏼
  7. Some of the reactions to this performance from people on here are simply embarrassing. That was, in the most part, a full blooded performance against a champions league side. Feel so much more positive about the season after watching that. If you don’t feel the same I feel sorry for you
  8. ‘Leicesters back where it belongs’?
  9. That’s a fair enough point. My only problem with that is in my opinion if the score line was reversed and it was a possible penalty for Man City we would have seen multiple replays from every possible angle. It’s probably impossible to be subjective regarding this point as I support Leicester and not one of the super rich clubs. Just wish I could be arsed to sit through all of the games that have seen the rich clubs receive an unfair advantage, collate the decisions and prove my point. But I can’t be arsed so guess it will just have to remain my opinion
  10. 100% bias towards the super rich clubs. Don’t care if I sound like a conspiracy theorist but it’s the only conclusion I can make from decisions like these. Spurs beat Brighton last week due to benefitting from similar decisions. Money brings with it corruption. There are billions of pounds sloshing around football, mainly generated by people around the world wanting to watch the ‘big’ clubs play in the big competitions. Clubs like ours, Brighton, Bournemouth have to overcome the officiating as well as the side we are facing if they happen to be the super rich mob. The media are wholly complicit, I’m still waiting to watch a replay of the Maddison possible penalty incident at the death at Man City yesterday after watching on sky then motd this morning?? Something I definitely won’t miss if we do go down
  11. Travelling in the car with my old man and a couple of his mates, I could have only been around 18, recently started pre match drinking with them. Stopped on thehard shoulder for a piss, we all ran up the steepish bank that was also pretty overgrown. Obviously time was pressing and the other lads that had jumped out with me had finished and jumped back in the car. Due to my shy bladder I hadn’t even started yet. I could feel the eyes of my dad and his mates burning a hole in the back of my head adding more pressure. Sounds mental to anyone who has never suffered with a shy bladder but was actually dying for a piss but it would just not come out. Remember the sun being out and being pretty warm. Pushing so hard to get this piss out I must have sort of fainted, fell back down the hill, squirting piss as I rolled backwards through long grass and brambles. Settled at the bottom of the verge in a heap, got up, sorted myself out, got back in the car. The old boys couldn’t look me in the eye and were desperately stifling laughter. I stared out of the window, my face burning red. Don’t remember what game we were on our way too
  12. The thing is loads on here slagging off the board for not getting shot of the Irish pigmy but as a fan base we’ve done next to nothing to let them know how we feel. It’s either the rest of the support aren’t as keen to get rid or that we’re all so apathetic as a fan base that we’ve got no grounds to start calling them out for not getting their fingers out. Apathy all round for me😔
  13. I think we need to be realistic about our financial position as a club in the premier league. It’s not a level playing field, hasn’t been for a while and is becoming even less fair. The super rich six benefit not only from their superior resources but also the bias that exists promoting them to an unfair advantage. If we really want to gate crash the party ever again I think we need to be more creative than merely trying to copy what they are doing. How are we going to compete with these teams setting up to play in a similar style when all over the pitch they employ players that are better than ours playing that way? If we want to be successful in this league with the resources at our disposal a dyche type of management makes sense. May not be fashionable but probably a more realistic way of being competitive. His sides at Burnley may not have been the most attractive, but he didn’t have the standard of player that we have in our squad
  14. I noticed ‘the big clubs’ statement as well. I’m hoping it was just a dig at Southgate rather than admitting he’s going to be looking at transferring to one of them🤞🏼
  15. Really don’t get why some fans turning there nose’s up to dyche, are we really enjoying the cultured football that this pep wanna be is serving up? I dream of watching my team actually getting stuck in and giving a s@@t, something I’m sure Dyche would provide
  16. We’re never going to be able to compete sustainably playing the mega rich clubs at their own game. Rogers has already publicly said we can’t compete financially. Makes no sense trying to set ourselves up to play a similar style to Man City, always going to be on a hiding to nothing, especially with a fish and chip shop version of pep pulling the strings? Dyche or a similar style of manager is the way to go. As we all know he kept Burnley competitive on a shoestring, what could he achieve with some backing? Also the brand of football, though not fashionable, (and we’d get told off by pep after every time we played them) could actually end up being a whole lot more exciting to watch than some of the stuff served up by Rogers?
  17. Rodgers said: “He’s an outstanding player and of course, Leicester City would benefit from keeping him longer. With two years left, naturally the club would want to protect the asset. “He’s a top player at the level, so people will be interested in him, but I’ve seen no change in him whatsoever. For me, James is still the same. He’s improving, developing, and happy.” Rogers already distancing himself from the club?? (Realise this is the Maddison thread but just come from the Rogers thread and seems apt)
  18. This is my first post after being a voyeur for a few years. Haven’t read all 20 odd pages so forgive me if I’m being repetitive in any way. I’m firmly Rogers out. I think the main reason for this is that he is negatively effecting my passion for the club I have loved for so long. On the face of it he probably rates as our most successful manager since I’ve followed the club, possibly ever. Brian little was at the helm when I fell in love with the club but Martin O’Neil was the first manager I truly adored. Rogers has given me higher placed prem finishes, a more prestigious trophy and longer lasting European adventures. The problem is he doesn’t inspire me, In fact I don’t think he inspires anyone. When O’Neil was going to leave every fan I know desperately wanted him to stay. He was passionate, owned his mistakes and took his team and us fans with him. Rogers distances himself from all of these attributes. We as fans have never really sang his name, everyone at filbert street sang O’Neils name on a match day. This is why I think dyche may be the right appointment. Someone who can galvanise the squad and us fans in possibly our biggest challenge since the great escape.
