  1. **** that. Just check the score at full time. Why is Buonanotte not starting? And Iverson is obviously available to be selected so starting Ward is a crime against football. We deserve whatever we get.
  2. Imagine how Liverpool fans would kick off though if a player who should be banned played and contributed to taking point(s) of them. There would be media campaigns, demands to replay the game and all sorts. It’s not so much saying it’s a case of ‘oh they’re playing Leicester so let’s screw them over’ but more musing whether it’d have been dealt with quicker if it was to the benefit of certain other clubs. I guess it depends whether you think a week is a really unreasonable timeframe for them to look at some widely available footage and say ‘yeah that was wrong so you’re banned’. It is a perfectly reasonable timeframe so if they were inclined to, surely there’s no doubt they the ban ‘could’ have been implemented in time for this weekend.
  3. Someone said further up the thread, would this be the case if Wolves were playing Liverpool this weekend. I’d like to say it wouldn’t matter and the situation would be the same. But I think most of us know that wouldn’t be the case and this would have been dealt with before the weekend and resulted in a ban.
  4. Forest are going to follow Newcastle and Villa in getting top 4 aren’t they. Just seems to be written. All those who sucked off Rodgers for getting us 5th (after collapsing from top 4) should take a long look at themselves. The so called ‘top 6’ haven’t been so for years. Man Utd and Spurs are mid-table sides now. Those seasons were a failure but people including Top and Rudkin failed to see it and here we are. Oh well, good day to have triple captained Isak on FPL anyway!
  5. Dyche is a very competent manager. Not fancy, not flowing football but the definition of competent. He will keep them in the league. If they sack him and appoint someone new, it could go either way.
  6. AMC is the last position we need with Buonanotte and El Khannous doing very well. Very unrealistic to sign that many in January.
  7. I’m not sure that’s an issue as Ward has no reaction time anyway and certainly doesn’t make split second judgements. Was it the second goal he conceded to make it 3-0 at the weekend, even if it was not his fault as it was a close range header, the fact he is diving when the ball is already in the net is quite embarrassing really.
  8. No sympathy from me. He has a choice, stay milking his contract and what comes with that (actually having to play and be shown as not up to it and an imposter) or he could have sought a move to a lower league, reduced his wage demands and played regularly at a level he might be cut out for. I know people say ‘it’s not his fault he was signed for that much and given the contract extension’ and no it isn’t. But he is the one who can do something about it. He isn’t held captive at the club.
  9. 1 draw and 5 defeats since our boy Nelson was injured!
  10. I’m sure Chris Sutton will be along in his predictions comments to tell us all how horrible Wolves are for sacking O’Neil and how he didn’t deserve it 🙄
  11. If you have watched their series, you’ll know the tend to have bad luck with goalkeepers and injuries. I’m not sure they’d even be daft enough to take him on a free though. Their owners are intelligent guys and have good people advising them.
  12. Hamza? He saved more shots with his hair in one game against West Brom than Ward has on however long. Imagine if he could use his hands!
  13. Yeah I agree. It was not a criticism of them as players, purely a comment about pace when I said dynamic. Coady and Vesty both have plenty of positive traits so we just need to protect their lack of pace.
  14. We can raise that with a Coady Coady/Jannick Vestergard dynamic duo
  15. In this weeks edition of ‘Sutton talks shit’ Chris continues to moan about how we treated Steve Cooper whilst stating we are improved under RVN. Chris is not contradicting himself at all. Chris also gives his weekly 3-0 defeat for Leicester prediction. I did not like the way Leicester treated Steve Cooper but they have definitely had a bounce since appointing Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has made the start he desired. It is fair to say that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has not had the season he wanted so far, but any team who can beat Arsenal and draw with Liverpool must have something about them. Howe's side have been consistently inconsistent, but they are not far off becoming the team he wants them to be. I am expecting them to click here, and I actually think this will be quite straightforward for them. Sutton's prediction: 3-0
  16. Sorry but that nouties high school chavvy kid that we all knew wants their language back
  17. Yep was not a good night . It was actually more enjoyable the following season when we ended up in the conference league and had a fun run in that.
  18. I guess I just don’t see the point in complaining. These are the clubs that are causing all extra fixtures due to greed. Will they complain about the club World Cup in the US or is it because it’s a third rate competition in the arse end of Kazakhstan? I mean they could play all European games on Wednesday. I suppose the organisers want it spreading over the days for tv coverage. Could there be a rule that any club playing on Thursday plays on Monday night? Maybe. You’ll never please them all unless you reduce the premier league to about 12 clubs like in Scotland and bin the domestic cups.
  19. I’m not sure Spurs said **** it, they had to forfeit due to mass illness and were eliminated due to the forfeit 3-0 result? I don’t know why you could have two completely separate squads for both games. Obviously point granted re support staff etc but they aren’t actually on the pitch playing. I just looked at our PL fixture following Zorya away in 2020 as that was the further I can remember we went into Eastern Europe and we played Sheffield United away (and won) at 2:15pm on the Sunday. With a much smaller squad.
  20. When are they supposed to play their league game then? If they had it parked until a future date, he’d then be moaning about fixture congestion later in the season. Id have more sympathy if they didn’t have 40 odd first teamers in their squad.
  21. Maresca moaning about a Sunday 19:00 KO after their game in Kazakhstan on Thursday. Use your squad! Poor Chelsea with their tiny, shoestring squad!
  22. I agree with him staying out on loan but Stoke are awful and it feels he is scoring despite this but ultimately being held back by how bad they are. I presume it is possible to call him back and send him elsewhere for the second half of the season? I know Sheffield United were interested in the summer. I wonder if any of the other sides towards the top, who resemble football teams, would give him the minutes he is getting at Stoke.
  23. It’s snobbery, that’s what it comes down to. It seems a very Pearson type signing, when we would sign the likes of Phillips, GTF and later the likes of Albrighton, Cambiasso and Fuchs, taking advantage of the free transfer market. Of course, there are obvious quality differences between that list but all older heads (although Sharkey was actually on the younger side when he joined) but with plenty of experience and importantly, good attitudes and hard workers. He’ll be a good head to have around the squad and has already shown he can add value with a goal, an assist and a disallowed goal in the last two games.
  24. Really . I hadn’t looked into the detail but obviously knew he hadn’t been regularly playing. I mean until Maresca when we were doing more of the Man City type tactical fouling, we were generally too nice so I don’t mind this, it just amused me. Like, Justin you could understand for example, as a defender who had pretty much played every minute. At least things like this and Buonanotte missing against Brighton are only one game things. When missing the likes of Fatawu and Ricardo for a while or even the season, it’s minor really.
  25. How’s he managed to pick up 5 bookings already though given he hasn’t exactly been in the side (and playing regularly 90 minutes) for much of the season
