  1. How many players, and for that matter, the last you could think of, actually progress their career by going there? It genuinely never seems to end well for anyone. Not for a lot of years anyway.
  2. I get what you are saying and the rules are a sack of uncompetitive shit. But, I think our own failings are on the club. I strongly believe we could have remained competitive on the pitch whilst complying with the albeit crap rules, if we had spent wisely and paid sensible wages. It’s the wages that have killed us. We never appear very high on net spend charts. And that obviously has been the factor preventing us from moving our unwanted players on.
  3. My understanding would be that this is still the net spend as net spend incorporates the transfer window from when it opens in June until it closes at the end of August. Accounts and PSR are the yearly thing which happens to start and end during the transfer window.
  4. Where have you come to this conclusion?
  5. These posts always normally end up with an Everton fan replying with Seamus Coleman
  6. Obviously Forest, Everton and Cov fans have their own agendas. Entitled 6 probably don’t care. Newcastle seem actively pleased. Villa probably similar. Ipswich thought we cheated last year so probably pissed too. Maybe Southampton as well but these teams also have their own agenda as they will want us to have a deduction for their own prospects not the principle of it. Id be interested in how the likes of Brighton, West Ham feel. Unlikely to be involved at the bottom so not personal vested bias and also no issues between the club.
  7. Well isn’t he the most moral little ray of sunshine When did all these adult men start doing ranty videos from their bedroom, probably still at their parents house by the way? Seems a fairly recent thing! Bollocks anyway, at what stage have we ever had a sporting advantage like he claims? His main argument as a Leeds fan seems to be we could have been ‘forced’ to sell KDH in January had we supplied the financials. Isn’t that what needs calling out? Clubs being forced to sell home grown players that they have brought through? Surely having more KDH’s and Barnes’ in the side is what makes a club like us sustainable. The problem is these ‘rules’ make clubs sell what makes them sustainable. If you want to achieve sustainability, the way to do it is a limit on wages end of.
  8. Carabao? Let them go then. Hardly some famous brand! The EFL Cup has had more sponsors than Brendan has Gucci belts anyway so there’ll always be another sponsor just as there is always another belt to be had
  9. Ah ok 👍. I saw originally they were all down for Tuesday 17th but didn’t realise they would move to the following week not just within the first week. Yeah the fixing of the draw is a joke to be fair. Just leave teams in Europe out of it if it’s too much.
  10. See that despite the 3rd round being initially scheduled for w/c 16th September (17th and 18th), our game at Walsall and some others are the following week on 24th.
  11. To echo others, it’s really crap that this is what football has become. Also crap that we know exactly what is coming from referees this season now. Hopefully we make sure not to take it quietly. In terms of others fans, who cares really. That cesspit of a Coventry forum wouldn’t even care if it was another club. They just can’t stand us. Forest and Everton fans are just hypocrites if they are complaining as they have been arguing the rules are BS anyway so it’s all just self serving based on them just wanting a relegation spot sorted rather than out of any actual principle. And I always remember when the super league stuff happened and they were let off with a pat on the back and a wink, what was said? ‘It’s not fair to punish the fans’. So presumably the same applies here yeah?
  12. You are correct in the sense of the true meaning of monopoly. But if someone has been brought up with ‘their’ club like we have with Leicester, and don’t want to watch another team, that is sort of an emotional monopoly and if you are priced out of having access to that, it is very immoral even if not breaking monopoly trading laws (like is Tesco bought Asda and Morrisons for example).
  13. Surprised at the amount of people dropped VK but keeping Justin in. VK hasn’t been that bad, certainly better than Justin has been who is like playing with 10 for some time now. Plus VK adds balance. Hermansen Ricardo - Vesty or Coady - Okolie - VK Winks - Skipp Fatawu - Buonanotte - Mavididi Vardy Although I could see and would understand Ayew up top against his old team. If you have pace behind him, he may be a good shout to hold up play and bring them into it. Vardy could come on later. BE-K to also come on later in the game. Faes, BDR, Justin and Ndidi to be dropped.
  14. If it’s that bad and we are dead and buried, it’d probably be a good call to be fair. Sell at an inflated price, sort out any lingering financials for this year and put Stolarczyk in and see how he does ready for the next season. It’d be short term pain (I.e we might ship a few more goals during the remainder of the season) but long term gain having a keeper ready to go next season. The only concern would be not killing JS’s confidence. Of course I’d rather still be in with a good chance of survival and keep Hermansen but just putting a positive spin on the scenario you have described. Probably irrelevant anyway as if Mads go, we’ll probably end up with Ward back in goal and given a new contract….
  15. I didn’t actually put it on until after that as we had been in the car and took a bit longer as we were passing through Sheffield centre and I hadn’t realise there was a game on (or I had seen it but hadn’t twigged when my wife said she needed to get something she could only get at Waitrose and that is right next door to Bramall Lane). Pen did look very telegraphed and obvious from the replay. It wasn’t even too central but seemed quite a straight forward save for Bachmann.
  16. Highlight being your defender just before half time grabbing O’Hare’s ankle and pulling him down and the ref missing it
  17. 68 minutes they came on. It was about 10 minutes later than it should have been. And in that time, the game got beyond us. I like him and think there has been some good stuff such as scoring and defending better from set pieces already and the grit we have shown. But, there are some changes needed to the starting line up, possibly not all at the same time but Mavididi in, FB or BEK over Ndidi for me and Ricardo for Justin. And if he is trying to keep the game tight, when we are in the ascendency like we were early in the second half yesterday, make the changes earlier to take advantage. The in game management has been poor. But I am giving him a chance after the break to see what changes and pass judgement then.
  18. Just interested to know, if he needs at least 6 points from the next 2 games (I.e minimum achievement) what would be the maximum achievement possible be?
  19. I was really pro his appointment and really want him to do well but my god is he making it so difficult. Im not there yet. But I need to see him see what we are all seeing over the next couple of games and after the international break when he has had chance to work with them. I can deal with going down but at least have a go. Something like: Mads Ricardo - Vestergaard or Faes - Okolie - VK Winks - Skipp Fatawu - Facuno or Bilal - Mavididi Vardy or Edouard
  20. Pathetic by Cooper. Too scared to make positive changes when we had come threat and now it’s game over…
  21. I want to defend Cooper, I really do. And I’m not calling for him out yet and I am comfortable with us going down this season if we are just not good enough but give it a go. But FFS, that is so negative and absolutely not playing the best available. All about not losing but by the time you bring the attacking players on in the second half you could have lost the game through setting up so negatively. Sort it out Steve!
  22. You don’t think the loans manager has involvement in getting the young players the right loan in the first place? In truth, none of us know what exactly is involved in the role but my impression would be that he is working on this as well. How do you know he isn’t contacting possible clubs to discuss how they would accommodate our players and to help establish what are likely to be the better options? Any how, this club has been awful at this for a long time and many of our youngsters don’t get these moves early enough so unless it’s entirely coincidental, it seems he must be having involvement as it has improved since he came into the role.
  23. Assuming we don’t offering him a new deal (), I’m intrigued to see where he will end up next year. Who would want a player who is so bad at their trade but also who has shown no desire to go and play and get their career back on track!
  24. I guess the maximum squad you can name and rules about numbers of players that can be loaned out were brought in to combat what Chelsea do but clearly they don’t care about killing players careers by them just hanging around the club. I think the only way would be for rules to come in that mean clubs can only physically have x number of players registered at the club and not to be able to sign anyone without selling (not loaning) if you are over that limit. Probably be classed as unfair restrictions on trade or something but it is people that we are talking about who they are treating as items. That or players should just stop signing for them!
  25. Some excellent development opportunities at good levels for a number of them there such as Cannan, Nelson and Braybrooke but also Richards, Thomas, Popov and Cover at good levels within the pyramid. If we go down, hopefully we have some good young players on the back of strong seasons to slot in. Only disappointing one is nothing for Alves as yet. Even so, big Huth showing the rest of them at the club how to do things and putting his best personal performance in since ‘that’ free kick!
