  1. I agree with your sentiments here but would just say 4 in 18 months sounds worse than it is and actually nothing to do with the club at all (not that I am one to defend the club in any way). Rodgers was were for over 4 years, a good stint for a modern manager. Due to the stage in the season we then had a caretaker. Brought in a long term appointment who then jumped ship after a year. Hopefully Cooper can bring a bit of stability though as you say.
  2. But they don’t care about us 😭😭
  3. 1. Likes developing youth. If he can integrate Nelson, Alves and Braybrooke this will bring a lot of pride to the club. 2. Flexible and not stubborn to one way of doing things which along with other traits, did for Rodgers and nearly did for Enzo. His preference is also to play good football. 3. Will put the success of the club over personal ideals or ego. 4. However some try and pull him down, he has had success. The promotion for Forest was out of the blue and regardless of other factors, any team going up, particularly that weren’t expecting it, should be delighted to just stay up. 5. Seems to be a strong man manager and liked by his players.
  4. I see it differently. I felt we were done for with Enzo. The inverted full back stuff would have killed us and I’d have been surprised if we didn’t concede more than Sheffield United did this season! Cooper being more pragmatic and willing to adapt gives me some hope!
  5. Untrue. I wanted Rodgers out as far back at October 2021 and turned pretty soon. But I don’t mind this appointment and think it’s embarrassing that people are throwing tantrums without giving the guy a chance. Doesn’t mean I think the club are at all competent. But Cooper himself seems like a decent guy and a good manager even if not fancy. I’m happy to give him a chance and if he does well it is despite the club’s incompetence not due to them!
  6. It’s like a whole thread of people tantrumming harder than my 18 month old when told ‘no’. And that normally involves laying on the floor kicking and screaming
  7. Since when was that a manager preference? Players coming permanently or on loan will depend on club policy. Yes some managers will have more input on transfer policy (we learned this the hard way with Rodgers) but no manager is going to dictate to the club that they want loan players and not permanent transfers. It will be a coincidence of the timing of being at both those clubs. A lot of Championship and lower league sides rely on the loan market heavily. That seems a bit of a weird stick to beat him with to be fair!
  8. The was a middle ground though. Of course they wouldn’t have stayed up with the squad they went up with, they had about 5/6 key players on loan for a start. But 30 new players or whatever it was was excessive. They literally signed players in July and replaced them with new signings in August. It was mental and no good for a manager! They could have for example, signed up their loan players and a further between 5-10 new targeted signings on top and ended up with maybe up to 15 overall which wouldn’t have raised questions but if done right, would have still given them a good chance to survive.
  9. No you’re not, I’d agree with this. I must admit to being intrigued by Corberan despite being an unknown. But between Cooper and Potter, I’d definitely go for Cooper as to echo what you say, it seems he would be the better fit for what we need now even if he’s not considered as fancier name as Potter.
  10. Erm, probably yes. A manager with form for promotion out the league with a squad that should have been promoted from that league, it certainly seems likely….
  11. I don’t mind this appointment. All things being even with Potter (in terms of desire), I actually think Cooper would be the better fit for us in our situation. Even if Potter is deemed the better manager, it doesn’t necessarily make him right for the situation. A Cooper who wants it over a not bothered, needs a lot of convincing Potter is a no brainer for me. Cooper clearly values youth and hopefully we will see that. I also think much of what happened at Forest was above his control and he still achieved what we will be happy with this season if we can achieve it. I’d hope he shows more of what he did with Forest in the Championship style wise but he will definitely be pragmatic and adapt to the circumstances. Whether it will be enough is another matter. Unfortunately, due to the Forest connections and his looks, many are already hounding him out before he is even started. It’s a bit pathetic to see people counting how many games they can give him before calling for his head.
  12. Got double ‘Jon Mossed’ to be fair though…
  13. I did say feels like. He rejected us before. Granted we were in a dire position but he wasn’t up for the challenge. It’s just a feeling I get that it’d be like Rodgers again.
  14. Would prefer Corberan over Potter. Potter does seem over rated and it feels he doesn’t particularly want the job whereas Corberan would be more enthusiastic and maybe even a higher ceiling. After Rodgers, a manager who doesn’t seem like their heart is in it is a big no to me.
  15. Yeah no worries. And by the same token, I know bringing the finances under control is a combination of stopping the stupid spending and also maximising revenue so being in the Prem. So whilst I knew what I meant by free hit season, it will have come off as quite flippant. I think basically, we will survive if we yo-yo for a couple of seasons but if we don’t learn our lesson from spending badly, we will never stabilise properly.
  16. The clubs future hinges on getting the finances back under control. I’m not talking managers here but the fact the likes of Longstaff being linked for £15mill (likely for many years in a large wages) or Vestergaard being resigned when we could blood the likes of Alves and Nelson.
  17. It’s infuriating. We are in this mess because of spending on shit and not having a future thinking plan. If they double down on that rather than being logical and thinking with the next few years in mind, we will end up in a much worse position.
  18. The whole season is an equivalent of a free hit so just stick Alves, Nelson and maybe Braybrooke in and let them learn on the job!
  19. Please not OGS. Crap manager and just a complete creep. Would rather Cooper, seems the best realistic option right now!
  20. It’s not about giving him a pass. It’s realising that the circumstances he walked into were dire so to expect him to have been world class and carry the team to safety on his own would be doing him a disservice. He was ok in the handful of games he had. He might have had a poor game or two, he had a better game or two. Otherwise in the middle. It’s basically saying those saying he is shit and not cut out for this level are a bit silly as we don’t know. If he is bad in the side this season let’s see then!
  21. Depending on the new manager, if we are going to at least bin the inverted full backs and play more conventional full backs (even if retaining the desire to play the way the club want to), it’s a no brainer to keep him. A sale is not beneficial from a PSR point of view (in the same way Hermansen or KDH would). Some people have written him off based on his appearances for us which is extremely short sighted. He played a handful of games and was quite literally the least of our problems. In addition there are the documented problems with a small group of players. If Thomas goes, I believe KDH and Choudhury are the likely ones that remain. If there’s no remaining issues here that would help. And as for the ‘didn’t fancy the challenge after relegation’. Clearly not the case. There’s no evidence of him being a big time Charlie thinking he was above the level or anything. He didn’t feel the position was best for his development as a young player. Why would anyone use that against him?
  22. I’m not advocating for Cooper but something like 99% of your posts must be anti-Cooper related. What did he do to you
  23. I want to say yes…but honestly no it isn’t with them From the brains that bring us VAR…
  24. I think this was the Premier League being incompetent and not knowing their own rules again?
  25. Yeah I actually saw that after I had put that post. Shame as it puts him out of reach if we do end up looking.
