  1. Honestly, I find the way the club have cocked things up and how they are subsequently behaving about it quite embarrassing. Yes, the leagues haven’t got a clue what they are doing and are just worried about a regulator etc but that and the club being clueless are not mutually exclusive. I also get sick of the club being synonymous with ‘cheating’. Yes, it’s a minority or mainly Forest and Cov fans that go on about administration but we flew close to the wind 10 years ago and now this. I would rather we get our house in order and go back to trying to operate sustainably. If this means we get relegated next season so be. We should still be in a better position to bounce back again rather than be in a constant cycle of points deductions, embargo’s and legal battles.
  2. I know they have had every chance not to end up going down in the past 2 years but you have to feel for Huddersfield in a way, robbed against Forest in one of the most ‘Jon Moss’ performances you’ll see and then two years later are in League 1!
  3. My view is, being well run (and you clearly have been very very well run) comes ahead of spending lots of money. The exception comes with sustaining a challenge to the rich 6 in the Prem but even we did it on a show string comparatively for one year. Look at the likes of Brighton and Brentford. A player is worth what their performances and ability prove, not always the purchase cost. Is Faes worth £15 mill? Hell no, I could find a Donkey on Skeggy beach that would hold a better defensive position that him. Remember we know this more than anyone, Vardy and Mahrez for £1.4 mill combined. They turned out to be worth a tad more didn’t they! I want Ipswich to come up. You deserve it over the season. You’re a good club with a strong loyal fan base and after the few years you had, it is a good story. And it’s not because I think you’ll be fodder next season or for the reason of ‘anyone but Leeds’. But I have said it before, a section of your support have a massive chip on the shoulder and it’d be a much better look to shed that. I’m sick of seeing your fans spewing the same shite about us being cheats which has made me waver on whether I wanted you to come up but ultimately, that is probably not reflective of your overall support.
  4. Probably the best result for us to take some pressure off the likelihood of Ipswich pipping us to the title had they won but still keeping them in the driving seat to finish second. Hull was probably the hardest of their 3 fixtures left too. Hopefully we get the job done tomorrow then cheer Ipswich on against Coventry and Huddersfield!
  5. Yeah, should be done after not only the season but the playoff too. The only stand out candidates for manager of the season for me at the minute are McKenna and Rohl if Wednesday stay up.
  6. Interesting. I wonder if that has happened before. Of the 3 play off losing sides, you’d expect at least one normally goes up automatically or fails to finish in the play offs the following season. Oxford must fancy their chances!
  7. Just looked, 3 points (3 draws and no wins) from 12 games when he took over. They were 9 points adrift from 4th bottom at that early stage. I agree with you, it doesn’t look much without the context. He joined a club in crisis with zero momentum from promotion as Chansiri had already seen to that. Chansiri is a very lucky man that Rohl has took the pressure off him.
  8. Thinking alike posting at the same time!
  9. Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 up. If they complete the job next week, Danny Rohl is manager of the season for me (close with McKenna). McKenna has done a fantastic job but does have a settled squad. The mess Rohl inherited with something like 6 points by mid November and the owner they have, the job he has done is phenomenal!
  10. Now how did I forget those
  11. I really wouldn’t go putting money on this, just my advice, each to their own
  12. Yeah I looked at the hidden contents on Urban’s post and completely forgot those two. Surprised I forgot Daka’s. The Nacho one was during a time where everything blended into one a bit but yeah, I remember that game now it’s mentioned.
  13. I want to say Vardy twice vs Man City. Not sure if he has done it 3 times. Cant think of another in recent years.. Ah Mahrez away at Swansea December 2015? Vardy’s run ended that game I think.
  14. Avoid relaxation and avoiding relegation. Two very different ideas my friend
  15. * apart from Leeds or Coventry. Finished your post for you
  16. Also lost 2-1 at home to them in the January after the 9-0 in October.
  17. I don’t think in spite of. That would suggest the players ignored instructions and chose to play how they did. Clearly he set up differently (as allowed by the fact Southampton weren’t going to come and park the bus) and it was spot on and credit to him as it did show adaptability. Whilst you can’t break quickly or counter attack against sides who have parked the bus, he could have tried to go possession toe to toe last night but didn’t. I just wonder what he was unhappy with. If it is small things like losing the ball when we did have it, ok, like you say, you should always be looking to improve. If he isn’t happy because of the lack of possession and deems that we didn’t have enough control as a result, that would concern me. As others have said, this is the way we should approach games if/when we are in the Prem next season. That for me was the perfect style. Excellent football but quick and exciting. Possession with purpose not for the sake of it. We would still need to be more clinical (not talking last night but generally) and cut out being so open at the back and silly mistakes (again not last night), but if we can get a bit more quality to fix these issues but go with the general approach of last night, this would suit us well.
  18. I must admit I didn’t have particularly high expectations of the game last night. After Saturday, I worried if we were anything like as open, we would get punished. But we adapted perfectly and let Saints play the role we have in other games recently. Excellent goals and football. To those who think playing lovely football the right way equates to more possession, just watch that game back! Really pleased for Fatawu. Vardy rolling back the years and an all round great team performance. Great to see the togetherness in the past couple of games which has been lacking before.
  19. I’m not sure if their forum is representative of their fan base but they have such a chip on their collective shoulders. Absolutely bitter beyond belief! To be fair their fans who have ventured on here have been as well. They can’t seem to just enjoy the season they are having and can’t get over the fact they got called lucky a bit.
  20. Why are people harping on about it being offside? It’s level! Yes VAR might analyse it for 5 minutes to see if Fatawu needs to cut his toe nails but in the real world, he is level. I’m seeing Ipswich fans saying it was worse than Leeds 3rd last night! Not sure what planet they are on!
  21. It wasn’t actually my intention to play it down, more the ‘will be talked about forever’ comment. Whilst any comeback from 3-0 is memorable, let’s not pretend it was anything short of the worse Man Utd side for some time and the strongest Coventry side for generations. For me, the likes of Wigan winning in the final against Man City or Barnsley beating Liverpool and Chelsea on the way to the semis are more memorable. But I suppose that is me looking at upsets not necessarily the spectacle of the game itself in which case yes it was that!
  22. Do we think people (outside of Cov itself) will talk about this ‘forever’? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68871206 No, thought not
  23. I think we want a Hull win there. Both have to play Ipswich in the next week. Hull are 3 points ahead having played a game more but if this beat Coventry on Wednesday they will have the points on the board going into Ipswich at the weekend. Cov probably have a bit much to do.
  24. Oh definitely, it was clear the ref played on. I was more just surprised that even our fans didn’t seem to comment on it.
  25. To be fair, Sheffield Wednesday have been outside the top 2 divisions about 10 seasons in their entire history. Not as good as our 1 but hardly always been a regular 3rd division side. Personally hope they stay up for the Steel City Derby to return!
