  1. Personally I’d be looking at Danny Rohl. What he picked up at Sheffield Wednesday, 3 points from 12 games or something, in crisis, fans at war with the owner. To have achieved what he did was phenomenal and up there relatively speaking with McKenna as manager of the season for me. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem ‘possession focused’ and is more about getting results so Top won’t look in this direction and many of our fans wouldn’t like him for this reason.
  2. Like he didn’t want us to go down the ****. Particularly after he was binned, he’d have been rooting for us to go down. Imagine how he’d have worried about his ego if we had gone on to stay up under Smith.
  3. Show them the West Brom highlights and they actually would!
  4. I think it is quite clear that I am saying I want Southampton to win as it’s what I think is best for Leicester. The bit I don’t give a crap about is who supports a side as this has no impact on Leicester. Therefore, I don’t care that Sunak supports them and don’t get why people would now want Leeds to win for this reason.
  5. Why is anybody deciding who they want to win the final let alone being bothered by who supports them ffs! Personally couldn’t give a crap. I want what is best for Leicester. I wanted Norwich or Baggies but now it’s Leeds or Southampton, I want Southampton as they are likely to be weaker. It’s just political point scoring which has no place in football. And anyway, by Christmas Sunak will probably be MP for Richmond at best. We will still though have half a season competing again and a return match against whoever joins us….
  6. But but but…FA cup replays mean too much football https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c722nn032zjo
  7. Basically a very good defender but we don’t believe in defending so surplus!
  8. Pleased for Elliot Moore to captain Oxford to the championship
  9. That has to be the worst dive by Brooks I have seen!
  10. Wagner going seems like one of those they outsiders will look and slate Norwich without having a clue. We have been there ourselves. It’s not necessarily to do with entitlement that they expected to go up. They just seem to roll over in big games and not even have a go. Must be really frustrating for their fans. Fair play to them for being decisive.
  11. Might have had better numbers had he been the main man.
  12. Feel that Norwich need to make this leg count which they aren’t at the minute. I would be happy with either Norwich or West Brom. I voted West Brom as I thought they are very good at ours and the best side to visit the KP so deserve it. But Norwich are poor so would be good. And it’d be a Derby with Ipswich. It’s good to have the derbys happening like Portsmouth and Southampton if they don’t win the playoffs and the Sheffield derby is back this coming season.
  13. No worries and not taken that way. More a reflection of it being interesting the experiences we have. Perhaps it is a truly split fan base in that sense or maybe you’ve been unfortunate in the ones you have met and me fortunate in meeting the good ones. To be fair, in my office, the relationship between the Blades and Owls fans is even pretty good!
  14. I live and work in Sheffield and I have honestly never met a Sheffield United fan who isn’t very down to earth and not arrogant or entitled at all. I always had the view you have about United about Wednesday but I always knew more United fans. I have got to know more Wednesday fans in recent times and would say both fan bases are generally good and wish both teams well. I am looking forward to the return of the Derby. I think both clubs seem to have good pasts with their trophy hauls (more so Wednesday) but both have struggled for a long time apart from both being quite strong in the early 90’s. I think most of the fans know where they stand for both clubs but you will get a minority for both who think they are bigger than they are.
  15. Some of those probably aren’t bad to be fair. But it’s the sheer volume of signings particularly in their first year up that has been the reason they are a joke. I mean if you sign 50 odd players over 3/4 windows, if you can’t point to 4 of them being good business then that would be seriously embarrassing!
  16. Na no need. Second season syndrome for other clubs = relegation. Second season syndrome for Leicester = win league and ruin football
  17. You joke but they do have an excuse for it, albeit not anything like as elaborate as above, but they do blame it on away fans not selling out. But in the next breath it’s Leeds are everyone’s cup final this and everyone looks for Leeds on the fixture list that so getting conflicting messages to be fair. Surely travelling fans wouldn’t pass up attending their cup final
  18. Not to see ‘we’ll be fine’ on every post match thread Not seeing they will probably mean we are doing well in fairness. But it’s already on this thread a couple of times so fearing the worst where this one is concerned!
  19. Personally I am just going into next season with zero expectations of survival and nobody’s job should be judged on that. We are probably looking at being about the level of Luton/Burnley. If we exceed that a bit, any points deduction brings us back down to that level. If we perform as they have and have a points deduction, we may even see ourselves in Sheffield United’s position. It should be about getting the finances back in order, going back to the recruitment methods that treated us well in the past and making sure we are in a good position to go again if we go down. If we stay up it’d be a bonus.
  20. You’re aware some fans live a long way away right? Not to mention the club have made it very difficult for people to get tickets (hence the work by UFS and Foxes Trust).
  21. Disappointed to finish on 97 points when a win today would have been a round 100 and would have even good to get another big win and have scored more than Ipswich. But I have wanted Brum to go down for a while so it’s acceptable as it caused that! Even thought I was willing us to keep going until the end.
  22. To be fair, if you saw the Blackburn v Wednesday game a couple of weeks ago, there’s more chance of the Blackburn keeper bagging one on his own net…
  23. Nugent is there, not Sharkey this time. But yes Lennon is on.
  24. So Lennon has identified we will need a new goalie but not mentioned midfield as an area to improve
  25. To be expected. We might have been next in line if we don’t win the title tonight with Blackburn having to play for safety. Or Plymouth v Hull with two things riding on it. Interesting aside there actually. Birmingham (22nd) v Norwich (5th) and Plymouth (21st) v Hull (7th).
