Well that went "whooooosh" didn't it!

Nailed it. It would have to be a huge amount of money for a 3 month bet. And we don't have that money. And the odds aren't great. None of the guys like Dyche have any need to take that on. They don't need a temporary job to fill in and pay the bills! They'll realise that the owner and DoF are impossible to work for and there's no transfer budget. The only realistic manager who is going to be interested will be one who doesn't mind managing in League 1 but with ambitions to get us promoted and back to the Championship and put that on their cv, or if we survive, want to establish their credentials at managing at a Championship club. So a present Championship manager but not one at the top end (why waste the potential chance of going up to the PL to go back to us) or one for whom having Championship manager on their cv (even if briefly) is a step up - so lower leagues or from abroad who wants to break into the EFL.

Failed yesterday (frustratingly got the link - roller - but never heard of roller bag) but got it today. It's always hit or miss with me. And got the purples first but baffled by the blue category today as I usually am if it involves v US specific stuff. Only got it because they were the last four left! -

Had to think about whether you meant us or Spurs there.

With the helmets, I don't think they can hear them. One has crashed and put debris on the track and one came close to a competitor, but apparently they were consulted and don't seem bothered. It 's just distracting for the TV viewer. On another topic, some of the crowds at some of the events have seemed a bit thin, but I'm only going on what I can see on TV. It feels a bit surprising that the pull of the Olympics isn't getting big crowds whatever the event is.

I don't know why, but I've dug out a radio. It's been a good little radio over the years and I must remember that before trying to chuck it at every wall in the room. Commentary does suggest it is very empty in the ground.

It is a shame having played so well in the round robin that they lost form at the crucial time rather than coming into top form. But looked at another way, Italy (at least until the gold medal match later) are the reigning Olympic champions and World Champions. Probably they'd feel more of a shock if they'd lost to them. But Mouat's won silver Olympic medal and two world titles in the team event, and Dodds got an Olympic gold in Beijing with the women's team, so let's hope that continues.

Pep. Because he's finally snapped and is tired of people saying he can only manage with world class and gazillion costing squads plus unlimited funds, and now does want to prove that he can win on a cold, rainy night at Stoke.

Connections Puzzle #975 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦 I either get it fairly easily or I completely crash and burn and rage hit any combo by the end. One I remember was cow, rattle, something like daunt (got those) but buffalo??? Apparently to buffalo someone is to intimidate them. I had never ever even heard that before. -

I'm also annoyed that we didn't get to see the end of the event. 8 skiers still to go when the course hold for Moreno's crash ended. Conditions meant it unlikely that someone would go faster, but in theory you still had the faster skiers in qualifying to go, so it's not as if it was the tailenders. Cut instead to the men's 10+10 skiathlon, then a few round up clips and talk about events coming up and away to the men's parallel giant slalom that wasn't at the quarter finals stage yet.

Or you could, in assessing the evidence, take recent form into account. All very well @Arriba Los Zorros saying grow a spine and a pair of balls, but I'm not aware of a scoring system that awards a shade over a point a game. In our first 16 matches we had 6 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses. Total of 24 points. Next 15? 4 wins, 2 draws and 9 losses. 14 points. I don't think that's an unfair or cherry-picking divide. Pretty much cut in half with the 32nd game to be played. First half of the season average - 1.5. Second half so far - 14/15 = 0.94. Numbers don't mean much if the players dig in and fight hard. But it does suggest that Southampton is a must win to get our average a shade over 1 in over the last 16 matches. And last match we were down to 10 men against the 10th placed team and lost. Oxford were down to 10 against the 1st placed team and held out for a draw. So it's not as bloody obvious as all that. Edited to accept that @Stuntman_Mike put it better

This England team has a load of talent in it, but when you forget the tap in a tap and go....one commentator hopefully queried if he'd got a foot to it, but on the replay nowhere near. Just a go. Not sure how Wales go about this now. Have to get some points on the board any way they come.
-
I'm guessing Norwich winning is the outcome we want to pin Blackburn down? Feels like there's realistically only one relegation spot up for grabs, as it's a bit too much for Oxford to do.
-
Dunno why, he never played in goal for us....
-
He'll still be one of the quickest on the pitch. I want him on to see (hopefully) the absolutely shellacking he hands out to those walking, jogging and falling over. If he does nothing else but scream at the others to put some effort in, I don't care if he doesn't complete a single pass.
