You would hope someone who has lived in English-speaking countries since he was 10 would have a pretty good grasp of the language.

Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)
Jon the Hat replied to jonny_wright's topic in Transfer Talk
It was too good to be true. Wout will be here forever... -
If Okoli goes too then we will have something over 50M quid in.

The expectations of a defender are a bit different over here I guess. They ignore this bit and buy the player they admired at Atalanta.

With about 10% of the numbers, costing hundreds of pounds to get in. For the million plus people who attend Notting Hill Carnival, compared to the usual crime rates in London, it's really not that bad. What violent crime there is usually involves existing gangs kicking off, which they do at other times as well.
-
Largely because it is an important cultural event, and the overall crime rate for the weekend is lower than say a music festival. Crime is concentrated in one place, not actually much higher than a normal weekend.

Your average Labour, Tory or Lib Dem voter also couldn't name a key policy, and the Greens only because they are a single-issue party. Politics is about feel as much as facts, as daft as that is.

They could during Covid because every type of accommodation was desperate for the cash on offer due to literally no-one going on any kind of travel. Less the case in normal times, however if say Epping council are not willing to see the hotel in the news used for migrants, perhaps they can use it for local needs.
-
Isn't the question whether they should accommodate those in need from the domestic population first?

This guy needs to be sent to some kind of reboot clinic. Something is clearly wrong.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
Jon the Hat replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
Its hard to imagine he has suddenly developed the ability to sell players, however it might be that the financial constraints have reached the point where the firesale is on and they are embracing it. -

DO you think the manager is starting to wonder where his squad is going? -
Well no, but freedom of speech also doesn’t exist if the consequences prevent any reasonable person from saying something. In this case this is an exception to freedom of speech passed by government and put into law, which is fine as long as said government is acting with a democratic mandate.

Potter is stuffed isn't he? He did amazingly at Osterlund with zero pressure, ok at Swansea, well at Brighton with a team assembled by others (and who did better under Di Zerbi) and failed completely at Chelsea and now West Ham with expectations. -
Kasey McAteer sold to Ipswich - Official
Jon the Hat replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
For 12M he needs to be a starter in this league. If the manager says he isn't we sell him. Best for everyone. -
About a million quid a week I should think.

You either have to stop spending more money on things that don't deliver benefits, or tax people more. As no one seems to be able to do the first, then you must do the second. You cannot just tax the better off though, there aren't enough of them. 2% increase on every band now should do for a start.
-
The 1% are already leaving the UK in droves. Don't bank on the increase actually materialising.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Jon the Hat replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
They gambled, with the full knowledge and support of the owners. They lost. They now need to agree and execute a plan to recover. -

You know all those PSR losses? There are more losses outside PSR on top of those, and they are funded by the owners. Originally mostly loans but later converted to equity. 400M is probably a low estimate imo. -
Its ok, the Chinese are buying up all the failing private schools so I am sure it will be fine, and the actual rich don't care about fees, so we are creating an ever bigger gap between the super elite and everyone else.
-
I mean its obviously not going to happen, but GERRIMIN!

Loans are often late in the window, so not impossible. So little noise though is worrying.
