  1. No one said illegal migrants, plenty of legal ones too. I am not saying this is a genuine large scale issue, just that for individuals it is not very helpful to tell them their personal experience is wrong, or mock them on social media.
  2. Ah what's the worst that can happen? We go down again. Meh.
  3. Yes its good to see people getting a second chance, and the guy might be unemployable, I just think it is too easy to dismiss people on an individual basis saying they are impacted by immigration.
  4. Agreed, strictly a 1 year avoid relegation plan here.
  5. I find generally people are much more willing to seer the best in your than you think. As a senior bod myself, I have seen my fair share of nervous people, sometimes to the point of having to stop and leave. I hope someone reached out to you after to make sure you were ok. Sounds like you got the job done either way!
  6. Come on lads! I can actually watch this one as it is an 11pm kick off. Please don't be dull, or indeed holding on desperately to a 1-0 lead for the last half hour.
  7. At risk of stating the bloody obvious, if employers had to help ex-convicts reintegrate with society for the betterment of all, rather than being able to say recruit a migrant who could also have a criminal record but they cannot see it, he might be able to get a job.
  8. A slightly cynical view, but if we are already seeing the +1.5 degree temps this year, and there is no sign of civilization ending disaster, what makes you so sure we are all screwed?
  9. I do think the polls are an exaggeration. Labour will of course win comfortably; however I doubt by as much as the polls say. Labour voters will stay at home as they think it is in the bag, and a lot of people are saying they won't vote conservative beasue why admit to it and get a load of shit. When it comes down to it the worry of a long-term Labour Government will push them to vote Tory.
  10. Sunak has already been out in constituencies with 20k plus majorities.
  11. Works for me.
  12. They are lucky, I might have twatted the guy with his canister. Repeatedly.
  13. I am not saying Rwanda is a good plan, it is a joke. However how do you discourage people from risking their lives in boats? Without just letting anyone in? Its a separate issue from the complete failure / deliberate strategy to process applications.
  14. Its literally their second point after 1. Reconsider ticket prices, stressing there is an acceptance that prices would go up, but not by these levels. I understand people think the trust is toothless but there is not a lot wrong with this statement. \ 1) Express disappointment, 2) share fan verbatim comments to back this up 3) push for the club to reduce prices 4) ask for membership to actually be worth something. 5) Point out their engagement is shit and must improve 6) Warn of potential Fan action if these are not heeded. What would you have said?
  15. The Chair doesn’t run the bank.
  16. Well I hope this works out. And that the camera doesn’t zoom in on his face too much.
  17. He doesn't need to though does he? He can continue to blame everyone else until and unless he is actually in Government. The point is the actual Government could and should address some of these underlying issues through both action and education to reduce the opportunity for Reform to talk shit.
  18. Good. To come out of the summer with someone of the calibre of Potter is unexpected and welcome.
  19. They could start by ensuring council housing is of a decent well-maintained standard, especially if they are going to house asylum seekers in nearby hotels. For most of us, the idea of living in a bog standard UK hotel more than a week or two is not attractive. How shit does your accommodation have to be to think this is a luxury? I suppose my point is there are lots of low hanging fruit for Farage and co, so the Conservatives have only themselves to blame.
  20. Americans are like anyone else, there are smart ones and thick ones. Top suggest they are all thick is not right. That said it quite possible to be a successful professional in the US without having much awareness of anything outside America. the US population is after all around half that of the whole of Europe.
  21. It think it is important to understand what happens if you actively push back people on small boats, or indeed remove people from the shore and dump them back at sea. We don't do this, in fact the RNLI and others pick up those who are struggling at sea. If you rightly don't do this though, you need another way of demonstrating that those who do not have a proper case for asylum (including the many thousands of fit healthy young men looking for work) will be removed. This is important whether you think so becuase "too many immigrants innit" or becuase people are drowning on shit boats. Its very difficult, and hence why Rwanda came about, ridiculous as it seems to be sending people so far away.

  23. Personally I think if the ball hits your hand and you benefit, it should be a handball.
  24. It’s just possible that maybe not ignoring the needs of the people of Clacton would help.
  25. I once got charged by a cow. It had just given birth to a calf and I was walking through it's field, so fiar enough. It had already chased a teacher into a river leaving a bunch of schoolkids stranded in a lane. I can tell you that half a ton of cow running at you is quite alarming and indeed Cows kill poeple in the UK each year, so I would be quite happy for the police to try to remove it safely.
