This sums up our position perfectly. The players are disengaged, the team failing to live up to the sum of its parts. The antithesis of our team of a decade ago!

We’re cooked now. No point spending significant sums at this stage in a futile attempt to stay up, unless on good, upcoming prospects for the Championship. No more over-the-hill journeymen! Clear out the deadwood and look to rebuild at the lower level.

Need to accept the abyss for a few years

Our shots/shots on target for and against this season must be shocking. Certainly not sustainable to continue in this manner, if we’re to stay up!

I always saw the development beyond the ground as enabling development, to pay for the stadium expansion, only providing the initial finance for the stadium work. Thereafter it would be independent and not provide further income for the club.

Indeed, our delusions of grandeur while aboard ‘HMS Piss the League’ were a form of arrogance, reflected only in our current sense of hopelessness .

To be fair, planning permission was only formally granted in December 2023 following completion of the legal agreement. That said whether the development goes ahead is open to question?

After 15 minutes TalkSport commentary suggested it would be a Championship version of Sheffield Utd v Arsenal score line at half time. We probably had x2 shots thereafter! Very frustrating we couldn’t press home our advantage at that point.
