And anyone doubting Jakub’s ability needs to rewatch these highlights. Passing ability aside, I’m confident he’s got a higher ceiling than Mads. He’ll go right to the top!
-
As soon as they hired Mad’s old GK coach, he was always their number one choice and still blatantly is. Fairplay to Rudkin and co for not falling for the bait. I doubt very much him playing against Fiorentina was to prove his fitness, more of a poker move to show we’re not desperate to get rid by risking him in a friendly just as we did with Coady the week before which prompted a quick acceleration in him moving to Wrexham.

You’re a very brave man. I don’t think you realise the extent of who and what you’re exposing here. Very powerful people indeed who don’t take too kindly to their ‘business favours’ being highlighted!

My man’s got some serious quads, looks like he squats hard. Best booty I’ve ever seen on a manager period!
-
After Newcastle scored 3 in the first 15 minutes he’d been on the pitch. It’s the first time in 40 years of following City, that I’ve ever seen us do this to our own keeper. You could see he was dreading it every time it went for a goal kick. Absolutely broken. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the guy needs an inquest into match fixing over his entire stint at City!

Not touched the booze in 9 years pal! Ironically, Enzo is the topic on talksport now and every Chelsea fan calling in is wanting him gone including the host Sam Matterface who’s a massive Chelsea fan and lets be honest “he knows what he’s on about”. Even Pardew is questioning his baffling philosophy. Alex Crook summed it up, most Leicester fans weren’t sad to see him leave. There was even a thread on here calling for him to be sacked when we were top of the league. As I mentioned earlier, you’re living in a pure Disney world if you expected fast counter attacking football from Enzo in the prem. Deluded!
-
The flip side though is players like Thomas and Choudhary who were given huge contracts at the first glimpse of any promise who ended up contributing to our disgusting wage bill under Rodger’s tenure. Monga is clearly a talent though!

I keep reading this but it’s pure fantasy. The Southampton fans don’t agree with the above. He refused to promote any of their promising academy players during their championship campaign. Yes, Southampton had a young squad but these were all players brought in by Jason Wilcox and not from their academy. Mainly from Man City. Even Tyler Dibling was brought in before Martin was manager. Martin didn’t promote a single academy player during his stint there!
-
Yes, many times. Circa 2010 when he was academy manager, I saw him at the gym every morning at the Marriott hotel, Fosse park. I think the club had some sort of contract with the hotel as you’d always see players staying there chilling in the lobby (pre Seagrave). I had many brief conversations with him but never about football. All small talk. He was a very quiet guy, very timid. One thing that sticks in my mind is he would always use the private cubicles to get changed in opposed to the open locker area! I assume he’s not the longest in the shower! I remember I was extremely surprised when I learnt he became our dof due to these past meetings as he didn’t strike me as a leader type and I don’t mean that in a derogatory way. I couldn’t picture him having full command of a room. He’s know where to be seen in corporate either.

I’ve also been told Top has been influenced by a key figure at Man City in recent times. The same person who convinced him to interview and take on Enzo. Apparently Martin is highly regarded by the city group and this stinks of another recommendation from said person. This all initially comes from Pep who worships anyone who follows his same philosophy.

I’m not sure about Evans but it’s been mooted we’ve offered Monga a staggering contract when he turns pro which blows all the competition out of the water by more than double what’s on offer elsewhere. You’ve got to remember, Monga and his family won’t have had any financial rewards thus far from his career due to his age so it’s a way of securing his future, but will cost us a pretty penny. With Jeremy it’s clear to see he’s going to be a fantastic player but it could be a risky move for other youngsters if they don’t live up to the hype but it’s the only way to keep them put. Tavares being a perfect example.

I’ve got a box with premium WiFi!

Spend one minute on the Chelsea forums and see what they say about Enzo ball. It’s a mirror image to this forum during our last championship campaign. They hate his football period. Not a single pundit on talksport who is a Chelsea fan has anything complimentary to say about his style of football which I have on in the background in the office every day. He’s universally hated by his own fans. You could say he’s greatly underachieved with what he’s had at his disposal. We would have been battered this season playing out from the back just as Southampton were under Martin at the start of the season, mostly conceding from suicidal passing in their own box. Teams did park the bus yes but 9/10 times we let them. When we did attack and had the man advantage, we’d always go back and let the opposition get reorganised through slow buildup play and passing back when we were in dangerous positions if the perfect pass wasn’t available. We literally tried to score the perfect goal each time. Ironically it was the home game against Southampton when enzo ball was ditched supposedly by the players and we suddenly looked good and ended that dreadful run. Having met Enzo on a few occasions, it’s clear to see he has a certain aura about him and I think his man management plays a big role in any success he has. He’s a very likeable guy (outside of the media). This is the one and only positive I can see in appointing Martin as he’s obviously a likeable person like Enzo. Due to Enzo ball, I spent that season under Enzo “working from the stadium”. It gave me a chance to clear emails and do reports during the match. Martin is another stubborn manager who treats the beautiful game as a chess match and has no plan b. Let’s be honest, virtually any manager would’ve got us up that last season in the championship with our squad and Martin most probably will do too (points deduction pending) if he’s appointed, but that doesn’t gloss over the fact this style of football is useless when you meet your match. But to say Enzo would’ve had us playing fast paced counter attacking football this season is laughable and pure fantasy. People on here saying our squad was built for Enzo ball and appointing Martin will be an easy transition are also having a laugh. We struggled in the championship playing out from the back with this squad and got away with so many mistakes due to the lack of quality opposition. Vestergaard and Winks made countless errors which went unoticed which we would’ve been punished for big time in the prem. The club is a bloody shambles if they think Martin’s the answer. Another short term unimaginative appointment. There’s no doubt Rudkin is trolling us at this point!

Not surprised, their wage bill is astronomical.

It’s totally unfair and a $hite system but pot kettle black. We’re doing the same thing albeit at a lower level. Chilwell was never truly one of our own. We nabbed him from Rushden and Diamonds at 12 years old and ended up pocketing 50 million plus for him. I doubt Rushden saw a penny of that. Everyone’s at it! I’ve been told but can’t confirm that we actually nabbed Monga from Cov……

I thought the fosse boys was set up for this? I’m just trying to give you hints on how to go about if you feel that strongly! Me, I don’t. First world problem and all that! I actually missed the banner as I was indoors in the box pouring champagne……

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Got a feeling the board will stick with him as we beat QPR 6-2 in the cup. The reality is, the majority of the Championship is of a very poor standard. Ruud will likely bring us back up with the current squad. -
Valid, I totally agree…. But my point stands, it was a fantastic feeling winning with the last kick of the game having been 2–0 down at half time. You can’t buy those emotions. If we had battered them 3-0 and played them off the park it would’ve obviously been nice but not the same from an emotional standpoint. Limbs flying everywhere and not forgetting the non stop chanting long after the game had finished with no fan’s leaving early! All I know is, that was a sweet 4 hour drive home! Spurs away being the next best. There’s been some long dark soul searching drive’s this season. Newcastle and Everton sticking out from memory! So yeah, maybe if you were there you’d have fond memories too….

This sums up our fanbase - cowards. Show your feelings in the stadium, protest outside the stadium daily, stop going etc Nope, let’s get a plane to drag a duvet in the sky, that’ll show em! Pathetic…….

The footy was awful but at least he showed fight. Thank you for Southampton away, that’s up there with the best of me LCFC away days!

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

It’s hilarious reading the first few pages of this thread and the idea Ruud would be a success due to his looks! -
It’s been discussed to death on here…Trust me mate, our fan base is a lost cause. The game has changed. You need more like minded fans to get any good chants going en masse. Current folk don’t even know the words to the cringey “ we love you” chant and only sing the wo wo wo bit as that’s what they’re used to banging their clappers along to. We do have some good away ends on occasion but is certainly dwindling. I’ve done my stint over the past 3 decades and a little too old to be “in the boozer” starting chants pregame. I now have a box at the KP and my pregame ritual is taking clients to Konak for a slap up meal. No matter how poor the game is, they always remember the food! If I’m going to sit in a library, I’d rather do it in comfort.
