  1. Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. If you’re good enough you’re old enough, simples. Monga is better than Mavididi period.
  2. The worrying thing is we’ve not even come up against anyone good yet and we’ve been second best in every game for large periods. Marti has been gifted with a ‘if Carlsberg made fixture list starts’. Coventry will batter us next week, mark my words.
  3. But but but he grew up in Barcelona watching Cruyffball and has had fish and chips down the local………..
  4. We were shite against Birmingham. They’re a poor championship team at best. We shouldn’t be having to pull out defensive masterclasses at home to league one standard opposition. A moment of brilliance won us that game. Marti is a fraud. Nelson and Monga should be the first names on the teamsheet for starters!
  5. He was jumping out of challenges against Charlton, shouldn’t even be on the bench. With his contract running down, he’s gone into self preservation mode.
  6. As per my last post in this thread, still not convinced. We were second best against 2 league one teams and only thanks to a moment of brilliance managed to get the 3 points from them games. Scrapped past a poor 10 man Sheffield Wednesday and then outplayed by a doggo Preston. Even before the red card today, we we were second best to a poor poor team in Oxford. The only glimmer of hope was against an unfit second string Fiorentina. You can shove your sound bites where the sun don’t shine, Marti’s an amateur with a ropey cv. Talks the talk but very much doubt he can walk the walk. Not convinced at all.
  7. They’ve certainly overpaid but have much more quality than us, especially in attack. They will overtake us in no time!
  8. Yes! They both literally did the exact same thing to force moves to city.
  9. Winks was jumping out of challenges against Charlton, shouldn’t even be on the bench!
  10. 100%, it’s obvious he’s out of his depth in his current role but obviously has something about him on the youth side.
  11. Tielemans was a lost cause. He purposely ran his contract down and was always going to leave on a free to pickup a large signing on fee. You can’t sell a player that won’t accept a move. He was turning down contract extensions from us for 2+years.
  12. Fans turn a blind eye but it’s Rudkin’s biggest achievement here to date. I’m led to believe Rudkin oversaw the whole academy setup at Seagrave. The amount of youth that has stepped up to the first team at both training grounds under Rudkin is never highlighted!
  13. Tactics are tactics mate and I’m struggling to see any. We got battered by a league one standard team yesterday.
  14. I don’t understand the hate for Faes. He’s our best cb by a country mile (not a high bar) but our weird fans love a scapegoat. I remember when this placed turned on Barnes 😂
  15. You’re probably right but it pains me to say it, Nathan Jones did a number on us yesterday and you could see he had done his homework. Don’t get me wrong, we’d be mad to sack him as it’s way too early and he hasn’t signed a single player but I’ve not been impressed at all in how we’ve been set up or played in any competitive game so far. The friendly against an unfit Fiorentina B team is the only time I’ve seen us play anything decent.
  16. Where’s all the jokers from the Hermansen transfer thread who ridiculed me when I mentioned that Jakub was a more than adequate Mads replacement and has the physical attributes to go further in the game than Mads. Not one has come here to post their admiration for Jakub as it doesn’t fit in with their negative outlook on life which is full of hate. We’re so lucky to have a top number 1 slot in without having to spend a penny. I’m adamant Jakub will go on to have a better career than Mads.
  17. The brutal truth and the most worrying thing for me is, Marti has been outcoached and tactically outclassed in every game so far. We’ve won our two games from a moment of brilliance from a premier league player and the opposition going down to ten men. I wasn’t enamoured when we announced Marti, mainly due to his past record or lack of to be blunt. He’s hardly pulled up any trees in his career thus far and he seemed to be dining off the fact that he grew up watching Cruyff’s Barcelona. I was definitely won over by his fantastic grasp of English for a foreigner in his interviews and he comes across as a very confident, articulate and positive person which made me instantly warm to him. From what I’ve seen thus this far, he’s not a very good coach/manager and my initial fear when studying into his background has been realised. As has been mentioned before, I even think Ruud is a better manager. I still think we should’ve gone for Mark Robins, but as he’s not got a fancy foreign name, he would’ve been on an uphill battle with our fans from the start.
  18. Not at all. I thinks Mads is top drawer.
  19. I totally agree but it’s a combination of fitness, determination and mentality which are not a given. I disagree with the Winks comparison though. Watch Skipp’s highlights when he was at Norwich in the championship. He was a solid ball winning midfielder which Winks is definitely not and Skipp is definitely not a deep lying playmaker which Winks most probably is but I’m still unsure.
  20. Much less experience, Mads was playing first team football consistently for 2 seasons at Brondby, whilst Jakub has had stop start loans with a handful of appearances. Goalkeepers are like a fine wine, get better with age. Experience is key, once he gets a few seasons under his belt playing consistently, I’m confident he’ll be a top keeper.
  21. As I said in a previous post of mine last season when everyone thought he was off, we had offered Monga an eye watering amount for someone his age hence why he was always going to sign. We’re talking first team high earner wages. I very much doubt we’re offering the same to Page and Evan’s but obviously don’t have any insight on these two.
  22. It’s called shirt and merch sales! I bet you he was earning Spurs a bucket load from the South Korean fanbase.
  23. 100%, he was the hardest working player on the pitch by a country mile. If he can keep that level of fitness up all season, he’ll be a key asset. He’s got a hell of an engine in him but lacks any ability, a poor man’s Kante performance dare I say.
  24. As I said “he’s got a higher ceiling”. I never said he was currently a better keeper!
