LCFC 2-4 Arsenal - Post Match Thread
Mon.is.a.god replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Perspective : we scored 2 goals away at the second best team in England and were 3 minutes away from getting a point. #wristslashers -
The level of iq on this forum is alarming! Forums aren’t used by younguns as well. I bet the majority on here losing their $hit are in their 30’s-50’s. As you say, embarrassing!
-
As presumed, most probably just Vesty throwing his toys out of the pram as previous.
-
How much have Arsenal spent on their squad compared to ours?
-
I wouldn’t waste your time. People on here are too stupid to realise this and would rather push another angle to have a go at Rudkin and co.

The messiah Corberan is 2-0 down at half time…..

Nothings changed, used to be Cheshire during the Pearson era

More pr guff from Potter trying to keep his name relevant. He’s not kidding anyone, I’m sure he’s happy sitting on his astronomical monthly credit from Chelsea. Taking that Chelsea job was the best thing that happened to him and his family. The guy’s milking it more Danny Ward.
-
They were also on TNT first game of the season. I assume op means all televised games and not just Sky.
-
We do the same to clubs in the lower echelons. We nab a lot of talent from Northampton Town, Lincoln City, Peterborough United to name a few. Kasey Mcateer, Ben Chillwell, Ivan Toney are a few examples of this. How much money did Rushden and Diamonds get from the sale of Chillwell? Can’t complain, were small fry to the big clubs as are the lower league teams to us. It’s just the football food chain!
-
I don’t think his form dropped per se. He was being doubled up on most games as the oppo saw him as our main threat.
-
This kid looks the real deal. Chuck him in now, no fear at that age. Bet he ends up at Chelsea on a Maresca tip.

Could be worst, at least he didn’t have a trouser malfunction in front of a room full of school children!

Safe standing - time to act
Mon.is.a.god replied to Safe Standing Roadshow's topic in Leicester City Forum
The club have missed a massive trick this season. I guarantee you, safe standing would’ve got us an extra 6-10 points minimum, just from the boost to the atmosphere. The club are too stupid to realise the atmosphere at the KP had a massive influence on our recent success. The years leading up to promotion to the prem, the great escape and then winning the prem. Our home support was shocking last season and we only got promoted due to having a far better squad than anyone else in the division. For whatever reason, it massively declined the season just before lockdown, even though that season we were on course for getting into the champions league. L1 (all standing block at the KP) used to be rocking in the championship days. New chants being invented on a weekly basis, every player had their own chant etc etc. I appreciate union fs are trying their best but I’m sorry, it pales in insignificance to the good ole days and the club aren’t helping by consistently cock blocking any initiative to boost the atmosphere. This is what happens when you don’t employ fans in the corporate side. All they care about is the $$$ -
What makes it worst is he was our best player by a mile during preseason and then rewarded by being dropped.
-
Ward has definitely chucked a week’s wages to the Walsall pen takers last night. “Hit them all into the bottom right hand corner at a perfect diving height with no pace please” The guy is utter utter garbage. Let’s not forget, this is the guy that consistently dived out the way of every shot he faced in the 22-23 season whilst leaving the widest gap possible. I’m still convinced he was involved in match fixing that season.

Didn’t we have a poll during our bad spell last season with the majority wanting Enzo out?
-
Tbf in my mind Villa have always had the best academy in the midlands in terms of pulling power and have also been blessed with picking the cream from a massive catchment area. Any decent youth prospect in Englands second city choose Villa over the others as well as most of the surrounding East and West Midlands. I knew 3 lads from Oadby and Wigston who ended up in their academy over City’s. These were all die hard Leicester fans but chose Villa over us. This is going back 20 years ago mind!

Good god you’re hard work. There’s no doubt we wanted Potter. That’s not we’re discussing. You’re like a politician, a bad one at best. I’m calling you out for your below claim that we didn’t want to pay the release clause for his team which you seem to be so sure about but seemingly have no evidence to suggest this. Oh sorry, Ornstein conveniently “mentioned” this on talksport but as a written press hack, decided not to put this in any of his articles? How convenient for you Pilskin…… I’m calling bull$hit and admit it, you don’t have a clue that this is the case even though you’re writing it as some sort of itk. As I wrote before, I just find the amount of posters writing such statements as above totally bizarre. I’m surprised more people don’t call them out for this. As someone who works in pr, naturally my role is to confirm facts from fiction. I’m new to this forum and just find it weird seeing people type pure fantasy to massage their own agenda. Hypothetically, let’s say you’re Disney scenario was reality. You do realise how the media works? Hacks get fed information purely for pr purposes. This would be the exact sort of info that would be fed from Potters camp to their trusted hack purely for pr “hey, Graham was very interested in making a return but LCFC couldn’t afford for his staff so darn, looks like he’ll wait for the next role.” Looks a lot better than “hey, Graham is currently not interested as he’s currently getting paid £2 million a month to chill at home and watch homes under the hammer and he doesn’t want to break his sabbatical at this moment in time!” Everything reported in the sports press is for an ulterior motive but in this case, your lies weren’t even reported! The fact you think our impending points deduction at the time had no bearing on our managerial search is naive to say the least. We’re not as an attractive proposition (especially then) as many think and can’t just pick and choose who we want.
-
You still haven’t got any facts to what you’re saying. You’re joining the dots and making educated guesses which is fair enough but don’t write statements as if you know the exact ins and outs of behind the scenes, it’s just embarrassing. I’m also in the Cooper out camp so not sure what your second point is about? Potter didn’t lay any foundation's at Brighton, their board and management behind the scenes did. In fact Chris Hughton did the hard work and got them to the promise land not the fraud Potter. The managers post Potter have far exceeded what he ever did there in terms of style of football. When we played Brighton under Potter, they weren’t anything special. In my humble opinion the choice of Potter, Corberan and Cooper wasn’t that great and none of them excited me. I’d much rather take a punt on an up and coming manager with an identity ala Enzo but something a bit more resourceful ala Klopps style.
-
Would love to know how people know the above as fact? No doubt we had interest in the names mentioned above, but it’s obvious the impending points deduction had the final say. Potter is sitting on a nice pension from Chelsea and Corberan seems to be a man of principle. He rejected the chance of managing Leeds who he had a mutual connection with, which to me says a lot about his character. He’s obviously backed himself to bring WBA up. As much as the Cooper appointment is looking to be a parody, I don’t doubt the club had other targets in mind but I’m guessing they just couldn’t convince them to join us with the points deduction incoming. IMO, I don’t think Cooper was appointed on the back of a financial decision but was just the best of a bad bunch. For the record, I don’t think Potter or Corberan are great targets anyway and I was disappointed when they were favourites to land the job in the summer. It feels like we got away with one by escaping the points deduction, but in reality it looks like it’s punished us already not being able to bring top targets in on the management and playing side.
-
Dare I say it, he’s looking like a bargain. Twice the player of Winks. Thought he was immense yesterday. Lacks in the final third but what an engine.
-
Will be a 40 million plus player in no time!
