Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)

First Kristiansen now this. Starting to feel emotional.... -
Kasey McAteer (gone to Ipswich, official. 12m.)
Fox-LMA replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
12m? Not bad for a player we nearly released at 18 (story was that Rodgers went over the head of the youth staff to get him a contract, same with Fitzhugh). Still uneasy about selling to a divisional rival though... -

Now thats an Eze replacement... -

Fox-LMA replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
Absolutely! Yes there is a big drop off between Hutchinson & McAteer. But they do have Philogene on the left who I think will be his more direct replacement. McAteer would probably slot in on the right, where their best option atm is Clarke, who is a bit wasteful. My main worry about this is that Ipswich seem to do very good things with not very much. If we sell him to them it could end up biting us on the arse... -

Disagree. Sorry. He will be very useful at Ipswich. Look at what they achieved with s*!t like Wes Burns on their wing... -

Not a fan of selling to a divisional rival. Plus I rate him. he's one of the few players we have that can get into goal scoring positions. Despite having a limited technique. I don't expect our players to be brilliant, or win beauty contests. But I do expect them to be effective. Which Kasey can be. Maybe thats what Ipswich sees in him. **DUCKS FOR COVER** -
Reads like a press release from the East German Socialist Party just before the wall fell... I'n not a grammar perv or anything, but anybody that formats a letter like this should go to jail.

Would it help?
-
Yes we had the chance to sell him to Monaco at cost, if you remember. In fact this season reminds me of 22-23 in terms of the lack of attention to squad building.
-
Spot on. What is needed is a full 'buy in' by a group of players who believe in this football club, what they can do for it &, what their spell here can go on & do for their careers. Which is precisely what we don't have with some of these players. But the younger ones give me a little hope. If we could just root out some of the s**theads, replace them with players who want to be here, then we can develop momentum as the season goes on... ...But then I just realised that Rudkin is in charge of it all. So little will happen.

Very nice, I like that. My purchase for the season.

Get the feeling he's only playing well at the minute to justify himself to a future employer. I wonder how bad he will be after the window shuts, & his agent hasn't found anyone to pay a fee, & take on his gargantuan contract.
-
Will Alves is a good prospect for us & he's making steady progress. He had a poor game yesterday. It happens. Young players (& young teams) do that often, because they are still learning...

Very good idea though. If I was DoF I would give serious thought to signing him now & continuing his rehab at Seagrave. -

Currently long term injured... But a very good idea. Maybe winter window? -
Not a crowded field to be fair... A bit like being the most handsome man in the Burns Unit at hospital.

I appreciate that he was cr*p last season, & that as fans we always have a right to express ourselves. But I'm starting to feel sorry for him. I saw him walk off the field (I sit in B3) & he looked dejected & personally affected. He should not feel that way after scoring a winner. I think that we need to give it a rest. We've made our point...

I don't think that promotion will be down to one player alone... & I think he could be replaceable. I suggest looking at Spain, where they specialise in no6 playmakers. If sourced well we could end up with someone younger, of equivalent quality, & cheaper (!!!!).
-
I appreciate that he could be a very important player to us in this division this season. In terms of our midfield he offers some very unique qualities. As shown in yesterday's game. However he will be 30 come the end of the season, has one year left on a monster contract (rumoured £90K) & he won't get another here at that level, & he's arguably not much use to us if we do go up. So if we receive offers between £7-10M we have to take it. No? Though I do concede that if he does, he will need replacing, & Brownhill isn't the same profile...

Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official

Or that time against Stoke when Kasper kept punting the ball to Paul Lambert on the touchline because he was wearing a blue jumper! -
Noooo backup 9 gets 18. 9+9=18. Like Klinsmann or Zamorano. Who famously wore 1+8 at Inter when Ronaldo took his no9
-
Sorry if this is off topic, but you're absolutely right. The football public (us) complain when footballers show no character - & yet when they do - they get punished by the authorities... Weird.

Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
Fox-LMA replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Really hope he ends up at Lazio. If he thinks we are bad, he should see their fans! If they're unhappy with a player they will literally turn up at their house...
