  1. Yesterday I guess... It's really the only chance I get to go out with my dad & nephew, & we always have a laugh. I like all of the people in my vicinity in B3, & it's great to catch up with them all. And it's always better when we win. I know the performances aren't what we want them to be. But as we all know, the cost of a season ticket doesn't entitle us to slick football & wins.
  2. It does all sounds very familiar. In fact it's a regular pattern regarding Rodgers. After overspending his club's budget, the first two seasons will be brilliant. Fans & press will (rightly) praise his work & football, may win a trophy or two. Then in season three the budget will have to be curtailed - which is understandable, as money is finite regardless of the size of the club - He will row with the board, start briefing his mates in the press about how hard done by he has been, starts sulking in public, alienating everybody at the club in the process, especially the players & results fall off the proverbial cliff... It happened at Liverpool (briefing the press that he didn't want free agent Balotelli), twice at Celtic (fallout with Peter Lawwell over transfers, same again this season) & with us (overspending on PSR - no transfer activity until fringe players are sold - & subsequently weren't). Many of you will remember that he nearly joined Newcastle after the Saudi takeover. If that happened I'm sure he would have left there this summer after their spending was curtailed due to PSR, after stinking the place out of course. They made the right decision by appointing Howe, who seems to have a level of maturity & a basic understanding of financial constraints. I'm not your average FT Rodgers hater. I maintain that the football we played in his first two-&-a-half seasons with us was some of the best I've seen our club play. But this pattern repeats itself everywhere he goes. Surely people must see through him now. My idea of a manager/head coach is one that leaves the club in a better place than when they found it. Rodgers never seems to do that.
  3. Met Watkins once at the old Charlotte. Shook his hand & had a brief but friendly conversation... ...still can't shake how weird I feel about it.
  4. Full match replay available on Swansea's website. No need to sign in. https://www.swanseacity.com/news/full-match-swansea-city-v-leicester-city
  5. It's been awhile since I've seen a manager so humiliated as Potter has been. Probably Graham Taylor for those old enough to remember. Those face swap memes... Don't feel bad for him though. He barely deserved the chances he got &, well, he's been utterly found out now.
  6. Monchi is leaving Villa. One of the best DoF's in the business. It's all falling apart over there.
  7. Feel pretty relaxed about this tbh. Coventry are supposed to be one of the better teams in the league but the rarely threatened us. I think we performed well for most periods. Looked a lot more fluid when getting the ball downfield. Defended well for the most part, even bearing in mind Coventry's attacking record. Personally I thought we were better today than we were agains Birmingham. Shame not to find a winner though. Coventry's defensive unit was good today. Maybe this is where we miss Vardy. Felt like a kind of game where he would poach a winner. Not to be... Think that if we are able to repeat this kind of performance, & in this manner, then we will win most weeks.
  8. Bipolar league this year. Really can't call how it will all end up yet...
  9. Well with all things considered, that’s a decent point for us away from home. 10 men for nigh on 70 odd minutes. Never a red card, we can blame the referee for costing us two points there. If we had eleven we would have won the game comfortably. Much better 2nd half but it raises questions about why Ricardo and Winks aren't starting. Managed to get some semblance of control in the game for us with ten men. Which is rare regardless of level. I think the posters on here that are expecting slick performances & big away wins at this stage of the season need to temper their expectations. We are not where we are two seasons ago yet. Patience is required & our players will make mistakes. Otherwise they wouldn't be here.
  10. Born in 1985 & stated going to games in 1991 - Will try to contain recency bias if I can... Schmeichel Ricardo Elliott (People forget that he had a fine technique on the ball) Morgan (A fine 1v1 defender - an undervalued quality) Fuchs Kante Tielemans Izzet (A crime that he never played for England - victim of big club bias) Mahrez Maddison Vardy Bench x9 Flowers G. Mills (massively underrated - Played in a European Cup Final at 17) Maguire (our version - not the Man Utd one) Guppy (so adaptable) Cambiasso (old master) Draper (would have gone onto big things if not for injury) Barnes Lookman Heskey
  11. My main problem with him is that he was terrible for us last season, on & off the pitch. I lost track of the amount of times he & Soumare didn't track runners into the box & it end up in conceding goals. He was supposed to be one of our main players last season, with a salary to match. We were really counting on him to produce some perfomances for us, anchor us to safety & he came nowhere near to doing so. We needed leadership from players like him & he didn't provide. The whole 'Enzo we miss u' thing was childish, embarrassing (like he misses Winks) & was a major sign of dressing room disharmony that, as a senior player, he would be a big contributor to. The whole baby thing I'm reluctant to get into as there is a lot I (& we) don't know about the situation. But the fact it all played out in the press brought controversy to the club at a time when it was the last thing anybody needed. He & RVN should have been adults about the situation & come to a compromise. They didn't, & it cost us. Don't even get me started on his current behaviour. So - for these reasons - I'm disappointed that he's still here...
  12. Happy about the fact we brought in genuine talent - in key areas - without spunking through tens of millions to do so. I think we all agree that we need to be a lot more sustainable than we have been. Would have liked another winger & reserve gk. But BDCR is nearing fitness & although I'm no fan, he will have his uses. Shame that Bilal didn't want to stay but I think Ramsey is a very viable replacement. Mostly happy with the outs. although the 'swamp' isn't fully drained & the squad is still a little large, it has lessened to a good degree & we got some good money via outgoings. For a change. I just hope the players that were seeking moves but didn't get them will knuckle down....
  13. I'm a joker, I'm a smoker, I'm a midnight tokerrrrr..
  14. Now this is what I would call a terse statement... https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/bilal-el-khannouss-leicester-city-vfb-stuttgart-loan
  15. Now that was peak transfer window! We will never see the like again.
  16. First to break Fofana coming to us.. & Tielemans I think (could be wrong).
  17. This is definitely happening. Le Equipe are an excellent source.
  18. I think I read this screed on a pub toilet wall once... Written in sh!t.
  19. Okay, you're officially mental.
  20. Honestly think Fernandes is better than Bilal & many think Dibling is a future England international (& implied 'English tax').
  21. The tweet made no mention of a loan fee. There would definitely be one & they are usually seven figures. So factor that into €25m it may not be a bad deal. All hypothetical of course. I can't see a club like this being able or willing to afford that kind of money without Champions League qualification. Even when considering the Woltemade deal. See you next year Bilal...
  22. Very happy with that. Imagine how good we will be with some more cohesion. The way I see it, we are practically still in pre-season mode due to how unsettled our squad is, & yet, we have nine points from our first four games. With some more sh!t out of the door & three or so good signings, we could be in for a very good season.
  23. It's World Cup year for the U17s. Starts in November. Probably want him to play in that like they did with Sancho & Foden in 2017. Which may mean we may be without him for a month or so...
  24. Hmm... Aging & injury prone. Would probably want first team assurances too. Would rather go for a younger keeper that we could develop with Jakub under the eye of Begovic. Like Karl Hein or Kacper Tobiasz.
