This is true. I was a young teenager during the Pleat era and I remember the fan base being quite vociferous back then, and it’s way worse now on reflection.

For possibly the most passive fan base in the country, we’re really good at fighting each other.

There’s very little to get excited about, even when we win. It’s really hard to muster any enthusiasm for this game.

I stand adjacently to UFS in SK1 and haven’t once heard them sing about us being shit. It’s just the basic songbook, Rudkin out and a few new ones that no one else knows the words to (😆). And, I must add, when the rest of SK1 start a song en masse (rare but it happens) UFS stop what they’re singing and join in, every single time. People just want to vilify them for some reason and it’s getting boring.

A few of my mates absolutely hate UFS for some reason, so they were hammering the group chat last night. Tried to point out what actually happened but they won’t have it. I’ve known some of the UFS lads since they were teenagers, so seeing them being called all the names under the sun as well as being ‘entitled’ just for trying to create an atmosphere isn’t fair. Directing anger at the wrong people isn’t helpful, it’s just creating more division.
