Bearing in mind his previous regular lapses in concentration after 60 minutes, his general aire of 'I'm better than all this', can we really afford to let him play again in a 'backs to the wall' relegation battle when there needs to be a strong sense of togetherness in the team? Won't he just be poncing about thinking of his next job?

I just read Toby Carvery and thought of prawn cocktail and T bone steak followed by Black Forest gateau.
-
I agree, someone like Evans when he first arrived. He did a hell of a lot of covering for Maguire due to he reading of the game and positioning. It wouldn't hurt to have a couple of games next to Vestergaard.
-
I sense the same about him tbh together with the fact that his concentration appears to wane dangerously in the second half.
-
Get that bombscare Faes back on the bench, fit only to canon t shirts into the crowd at half time (even then he'd lose concentration and shoot Filbert Fox!). Vestergaard and Okoli fine.
-
Not at all, bar one game he was poor. We're not that desperate. Vestergaard and Okoli for me. Ndidi was a liability and a penalty waiting to happen.

I think it's just as much Top himself, the book stops with him. It's been several years now of bad buys, ridiculous contracts and the mismanagement of funds leading to PSR issues. That's not just Rudkin but either way, Top is the one who hires and fires and he's either disinterested, sleepwalking or clueless.
-
If fit I'd have Vestergaard and Okoli. Ditch Coady and Faus.
-
Absolutely, someone at the Top.
-
True, but I think Morgan vastly improved and gained confidence when Huth was next to him. I personally think he was the most important influencer. Having said that in fairness, Fuchs, Huth, Morgan and Simpson all knew what they were doing compared to this lot and were all leaders.

As we've also got a multimillion state of the art facility, perhaps it also shows that our youth scouting and coaching aren't as good as we'd hoped either? Inherited from the first team? Wonder who's responsible?
-
Same logic with the exception that both Palace and Leicester have found that he's clearly too crap to play.

I can't understand Coady playing? For Premiership matches I still think our best option is Vestergaard and Okoli. -

Think you'll find Moyes is going back to Everton, so that's them safe. He's not stupid, he turned us down like Potter by all accounts. -
The Brazilian Bertrand?
-
I used to like their ice cream.
-
Absolutely, we know the score!

Looks very interesting but, we seem to prefer the tried and tested injury prone ageing type like Bertrand. There's got to be at least one Rudkin has on redial straight to a physio room. Don't give up yet folks, there could be another limpy dick hobbling over to sign a contract as we write!

I think it was El Khannouss. I agree entirely. There are times when, in desperation, a goalkeeper or defender just needs to get something on the ball in an attempt to clear it. Time and again, particularly from corners, we shove every man and his dog in our own penalty area believing that that's good defending! Anyone remember when Ranieri used to leave Vardy and Marhez on the half way line which had the effect of tying up 3 opposition defenders at least. Whilst this situation wasn't from a corner it was similar to the extent that there was an almighty gap between our defence and our nearest man in midfield. It's almost a recipe for disaster and what happened could have happened on a number of occasions this season, we've just been very fortunate that there hasn't been an accurate Ross Barclay there before but we have faced shots. It's very easy to blame Vestergaard or any other defender in that they were the last player to touch the ball but in all fairness, he should be able to expect better from his midfield in terms of their positioning and alertness.
-
I suppose it would depend quite a bit upon they didn't get them. If they weren't prepared to pay a reasonable price then maybe. If it was because those players simply wouldn't come here, which is entirely possible, then probably not.

Odsonne Edouard joins on loan - Official

The football there is nowhere near as fast or physical. In fairness he undoubtedly had some good technical skills. Remember that here, he only had one decent season out of four at Newcastle also. -

Admittedly he was out of position on the right wing but even as a ten he was bloody useless. Lightweight, forever losing the ball or giving it to the opposition. Absolutely useless. Even in our position now I'd sooner have El Khannouss or Buonanotte! -

Agreed and certainly about Perez who was bloody useless and costly. The best thing that can be said of him is that there have been even worse signings! 🤣 -

Premiership survival is the priority for me. Just my opinion but the 'winning is a habit' diatribe is merely more supporter media rhetoric. If I was a professional footballer I don't think wins again Grimsby Town, Barnsley or QPR would be the motivation I needed to beat Liverpool or Chelsea the next week. However, a Premiership win against Crystal Palace and Fulham might just give me the confidence to have a good go against Tottenham? -

You really think beating a Championship club would give professionals a huge lift? I think they'd me more focused on Palace tbh. It's just another game to them. If a couple of important first teamers got injured would you in retrospect think it was worth it for perceived momentum purposes? The only good confidence building momentum available to me is by beating your counterparts around you in the Premiership!
